Hi and thanks for looking!
Up for Auction is a 1976 BMW 530i White in color. The body and interior is in excellent condition. I do not have too much information other than what the previous owner said that "the vehicle was running after he did a lot of work to it. He rebuilt the transmission, but broke down with an unknown engine problem on 12/06/12." I cannot verify this information but can tell that the vehicle has been well cared for. The vehicle is located in Barstow, Ca 92311. I encourage you to come see it for yourself before you bid. The key is with the vehicle. The odometer reads 150,246 It has a crank sunroof, a clean interior, BMW factory rims, a built in tool kit in trunk (some tools inside) and much more. This vehicle is a rare find to someone passionate about the classic BMW.
Please feel free to email with any additional questions or to arrange a time to come inspect the vehicle.
Sold AS IS-
No Reserve Auction!! Serious Bidders only please..
**Detailed Information**
I am the owner of a towing company, and on 12/06/12 we recieved a request for a tow from the owner of the BMW. He broke down traveling through Barstow heading back to Utah. He requested that we store the vehicle until he figured out what he wanted to do about getting it back home. He signed over the title to the vehicle to settle his towing bill rather than having towed back to Utah. He mentioned that he had just put a lot of work into the vehicle and mentioned that he had just had the transmission re-built. I placed a lien on the vehicle when it arrived to our facility and it has since cleared. I have the completed lien packet as well as the signed title from Utah. The vehicle was plated in the state of Utah, so I am unsure if there are any outstanding registration fees, smog due, etc. California does have record of the vehicle being registered but that was back in 1996 and it showed a smog request for 1999. When the key is turned, the engine does not crank, the lights come on and that is it. I am unsure if the car needs a new engine or not. The only thing that I am sure of is that this vehicle looks way too good for me to send to the junk yard for recycling.
Again from the naked eye this vehicle looks great, but I would still ask that you come take a look for yourself before you bid so that you are sure the vehicle meets your standards, as it is being sold in "AS IS" condition.
This vehicle did just finish an auction however, it was purchased with by a new ebay member with 0 feedback who never responded after the sale. Please note** since listing the item I had 3 people come look at the vehicle in person, but I held fast to keeping true to the auction style listing and requested that they place a bid...please only bid if you are a serious bidder. Thank you!

BMW moves car-sharing program from San Francisco to Seattle
Sat, Apr 9 2016BMW is shifting more focus towards mobility services, which include car sharing and ride sharing. A new service, called ReachNow, will start out from Seattle and expand to other cities later. At first, the main competitors are ZipCar and Car2go, but ReachNow will also have to battle Uber. In a number of European cities, BMW already operates under the DriveNow program, which is getting revamped to better suit the US marketplace. Up until December, BMW made DriveNow available to San Francisco customers, but was forced to pull out due to parking space issues that are characteristic to SF. Perhaps Seattle makes things easier for BMW, though parking in any major metro area is sure to present some level of difficulty. BMW's idea is to offer pay-per-use pricing for driving a BMW 3-Series, BMW i3 electric vehicle or a Mini, which can be picked up from a street corner either by a 30-minute reservation or on-the-go, depending of the user's needs. Flexibility is key, whether you need a car for just a short while or for a longer weekend trip. The Seattle fleet will consist of 370 vehicles distributed across town. Later on, the service will expand to offer taxi-like ride sharing, to compete with Uber. As the glimmer of car ownership has faded in big cities, BMW wants to make sure it can still put people behind steering wheels or in the back seats. Luxury vehicle ride sharing is also on the cards, seemingly as a way to balance out the decidedly utilitarian choice of cars currently available. 2016 BMW 7 Series slims down, techs up
Wed, Jun 10 2015BMW is finally pulling the wraps off its sixth-generation 7 Series. The flagship boasts a ton of improvements for 2016, including a smattering of onboard tech and weight reduction of 190 pounds. The 7 Series uses a new internal structure called Carbon Core. Derived from the i sub-brand, Carbon Core uses a mix of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and ultra-high-tensile steel for the 7's major structural components. It's largely responsible for the 190-pound weight reduction, along with the aluminum doors and trunk lid. The weight savings has allowed BMW to maintain a fifty-fifty weight distribution. That new structure underpins the largest sedan BMW has ever produced. At 206.6 inches in total, the long-wheelbase-only 7 Series is over an inch longer than its predecessor. Its 124.6-inch wheelbase and 74.9-inch width, though, remain unchanged. Even with such a modest increase in size, BMW is claiming best-in-class rear legroom, at 44.4 inches – a tenth of an inch more than the current 7. Unlike the old car, though, this new 7 Series gets with the times in terms of chauffeur equipment. The front passenger seat can be slid forward and folded, allowing a lucky rear passenger to take advantage of the new pop-out footrest and optional 42.5-degree seat incline, available as part of the Rear Executive Lounge Seating Package. iDrive now adds a number of 3D sensors that respond to pre-programed hand motions. The 7 Series will debut here in the United States with two engines, both of which should be familiar to BMW consumers. There's a 320-horsepower, 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder in the nose of the 740i, and a 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 with 445 hp on tap in the 750i xDrive. 60 miles per hour arrives in a relaxed 5.4 seconds for the 740i and 4.3 seconds in the V8 model. Once again, ZF provides the eight-speed automatic transmission used with both engines. Joining the 740i and 750i is the new 740e xDrive. The plug-in-hybrid sedan is motivated by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor, and is capable of 23 miles per charge and speeds of up to 75 miles per hour in pure electric mode. Tthere's no shortage of tech on the latest 7 Series. While we're familiar with some items, like active grille shutters and BMW's Air Breather system, it's items like the gesture-control-equipped iDrive 5.0 that pique our interest. Alongside the new and standard touchscreen, iDrive now adds a number of 3D sensors that respond to pre-programed hand motions.
BMW brings first diesel 7 Series to US with $82,500* 740Ld xDrive
Fri, 24 Jan 2014After almost 40 years on the market, there are probably few things the BMW 7 Series hasn't offered, but when it comes to the US market, one of those things just happens to be a diesel engine. That is all about to change, however, as BMW announced that it will unveil the 2014 740Ld xDrive at the Chicago Auto Show before sales commence later in the spring.
Offered only on long-wheelbase models with standard all-wheel drive, the new diesel 7 is powered by BMW's 3.0-liter inline-six producing 255 horsepower and a stout 413 pound-feet of torque peaking between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm. While BMW has yet to release any type of fuel economy figures, it did say that its diesel technology is usually good for an improvement of 25 to 30 percent over the gas models - just for fun, that means that the 740 Ld xDrive could get as much as 24.7 miles per gallon in the city and 36.4 mpg on the highway, but that's just doing the math and there is nothing official behind those numbers. Acceleration will take a little longer than in the 740Li xDrive (shown above) with BMW stating 6.1 seconds from 0-60 compared to 5.4 seconds for the gas model.
Another small increase over the gas version will be in price, with the 740Ld xDrive getting a starting MSRP of $82,500 (*not including $925 for destination), which is just a $1,500 bump over the 740Li xDrive. For comparison, the Audi A8L TDI starts at $78,800, while the previous-gen Mercedes S350 Bluetec was priced at $93,000. Scroll down for more info on the new diesel-powered 7 Series, and stay tuned to our live coverage from Chicago in a couple weeks as we'll have live images and hopefully more info.
