1973 BMW 2002tii Roundie 5 Speed Excellent Condition For sale is a 1973 BMW 2002tii roundie with upgraded 5 Speed Transmission. The car is Beautifully Restored to the Original Specs with the Original Matching Number (2762978) on the Chassis and Engine, that went through a fully Rebuilt Process from Top to the Bottom with less than 500 Miles on it. This car is in an Excellent condition inside and outside. There are absolutely no Rust on the car because this car has been an Original California Car all its life. The Engine is in an Excellent condition and the New Upgraded Transmission shifts very smoothly Through all the Gears. The Car Runs and Drives like a Champ and there are absolutely No funny noises coming from the car when driving it on the Road. All electrical works Perfect on the car. It is an Original Non Sunroof car (Better because you don't have to worry about the Rusting Problems on the Roof), It has a Original Behr A/C Console and system on it but i removed the A/C setup during the time of restoration and only left the Original Center Console on the car. I have owned a several 2002's and five 2002tii's But this is by far the Best Running 2002tii I've had and Driven in my life. EXTERIOR: Zero Rust. Brand New Original Verona Red Paint. All the Seals has been changed after the Paint Job Including the Doors, Front and Rear Windshields, and the Trunk Seal. Everything works like it should. Original Front and Rear 73 Only Bumpers. All the Upper Trims on the car have been Polished prior to the installation. All New Original Pads and Stickers Under the Hood. INTERIOR: Original Black Leather Rear Seat Covered with New Pad. Installed Two Recaros for the Front Seats Door Panels are in Excellent Condition with No Tears. Dash had only 2 small Cracks and its Shown in the Pictures. Headliner is also in a good condition except that it has a small half inch tear Shown also in the Picture. Center Console is the Original Behr and its Complete and comes with Sony Stereo. ENGINE: Original Freshly Rebuilt 4 Cylinder 2.0 Litter M10 Mechanical Fuel Injection Matching Number Engine. Brand New Rod Bearings, Main Bearings, and Piston Rings. Freshly Rebuilt Original 73 E12 Head with no Weld and No crack. Kugelfischer Mechanical Fuel Injection System has been gone through a shop in SF Bay area. All the Injectors has also been sent out for inspection before re-assembaling the Motor. Brand New Water Pump, Thermostat and Hoses were also installed at that time. Engine Runs Like a Champion and has no problems what so ever DRIVETRAIN: Upgraded Getrag 245 5 Speed Transmission that shifts very smoothly. Clutch has been installed 500 Miles ago as well. Professionally Shortened Driveshaft to fit the 5 speed Transmission. Feels Really good when driving it on the Highway. SUSPENSION: Upgraded Alpina Red Close Ratio Steering Box which Costed me $1800 you could feel it big time when making turns or Parallel Parking. Everything on the suspension is Original including the Bushings. 13-inch Original Tii Wheels. Tires are Brand New and were installed 500 Miles ago. Barking System is Original Tii with New Ate Pads and Shoes installed. Brand New Bilstein Front and Rear Shock. BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo won't be a one-and-done model
Tue, Jan 27 2015The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo seems like a model without a real segment to fit into. It doesn't quite match the mold for the swoopy four-door coupe niche like the Porsche Panamera or the brand's own 6 Series Gran Coupe. However, the vehicle isn't really a station wagon to appeal to those utilitarian buyers, either. Despite this identity crisis, BMW is reportedly prepping another GT for the next-gen 5 Series platform. According to German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, the 5 Series GT somehow has been a big enough sales success in the US and China to warrant another model. The next one would allegedly arrive in 2016, which is the about the same size as the future 5 Series sedan. The magazine speculates the new GT could lose about 221 pounds in the transition and be offered with four- and six-cylinder powertrains, plus a plug-in hybrid with an electric driving range estimated at around 19 miles. Globally, China is actually the larger 5er GT market than the US. According to IHS senior analyst Stephanie Brinley to Autoblog, the variant sold 21,089 units worldwide in 2013 (2014 is still being tabulated), and that represented about 5.7 percent of the 370,930 total sales for the 5 Series. China bought 42 percent of the world's GTs, compared to about 10 percent of the mix from the US. Europe, meanwhile, took about 29 percent of them that year. While the GT's sales figures make up just a fraction of the overall 5 Series, the variant is still a moneymaker for BMW, and IHS forecasts a second generation, too. "The 5 Series range as a whole is stronger for having this product, and it's very likely that the company's profit margin is higher on the GT, even with the cost of some dedicated sheetmetal and tooling," said Brinley. BMW will show Mini EV concept at Frankfurt
Wed, Aug 30 2017A month ago, BMW announced that it would electrify all its brands and model lines, including the Mini hatchback. A forthcoming full-electric Mini will enter production in 2019 at the Mini plant in Oxford, England, where the production line would join a German-built electric drivetrain with a British-built body. BMW notes that this will happen exactly 60 years after the original Mini hit the streets. View 5 Photos As the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show is upon us, BMW has introduced the concept version of the aforementioned electric Mini. The manufacturer says the color scheme chosen for the concept matches the previous electrified Mini, the experimental Mini E of 2008. That car was produced in a trial run of 600 units, and it provided BMW with valuable data as it was developing the i3 model, currently on the market. The Mini Electric Concept is powered by a lithium-ion battery, but no numerical specifications or range figures have been announced. It will be interesting to see whether the driving fun inherent to Minis can be translated, as a battery electric vehicle will undoubtedly be heavier than a fossil-fuel hatchback. The closed front grille stands as testament for doing without pistons or a need for engine cooling. Consumer Reports' first motorcycle reliability report finds Japanese brands ahead
Sat, 22 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has released its first ever study of motorcycle reliability, and students of its ratings on cars might notice a suspicious similarity - Japanese brands require fewer repairs than the leading American or German brands.
The study analyzed the reliability of 4,680 bikes owned by CR subscribers and found that Yamaha had the best ratings, with just one in ten bikes built between 2009 and 2012 requiring a repair over a four-year period. The makers of the R1 and R6 sport bikes were closely followed by Kawasaki and Honda, while one out of every four of the rumbling bikes from Harley-Davidson experienced an issue. BMW had the worst rating of the brands represented, with one in three bikes having problems.
According to CR, neither Suzuki nor Triumph owners provided enough information for a reliable rating. Based on the responses received, though, Suzuki would have finished with the other Japanese brands and Triumph, being English, would have been one of the less reliable makes.
