1972 2002 Automatic
Very nice cruiser or possible daily driver.
I have owned this car for 16 years and personally restored it.
I welded new rockers and welded patches to the floor and driver frame
rail (see pics for proof).  It is a very solid car.
Here is a list of all work done to car:
New rockers
Gas tank removed, professionally sealed and repainted.
Inside of frame rails, rockers and shock towers sprayed with waxoil.
Radiator cooked,repaired and repainted.
Heater core cooked and repaired.
New exhaust manifold with all studs replaced and new heat shield installed.
1 barrel solex rebuilt.
Replaced dash that is 90% crack free.
New seals in front and rear windshields.
New front door panels.
Stainless steel braided brake lines.
Rebuilt front brake calipers.
New rear brake cylinders.
320iS leather steering wheel.
New AT screen and fluid.
Excellent rubber on later style stock steel wheels.
New heater valve.
New heater and  defroster cables.
Custom rear third brakelight.
Repainted in sunburst yellow.
No smoke (not even on decelleration)
No leaks.
What is needs:
Really nothing but if you are so inclined:
Steering box is a bit notchy (good solid steering box comes with sale)
Transmission jumps into driver slightly. It has always done this and
it is not getting any worse. It is fine.
Slight imperfections in paint and body work. Just minor cosmetic work
that I did not do perfectly.
On small patch in spare tire well is done with rivets (before I
learned to weld).

I love this car. It has been garaged 100% of time for 16 years. I no
longer will have space to keep it. Sadly is has to go.

BMW dismisses Tesla tie-up talk

Tue, Dec 2 2014

Despite recent rumors to the contrary, don't expect to see much collaboration between Tesla and BMW in the near future. Based on some rather prickly statements from the German automaker, Elon Musk might have even burnt some bridges in Bavaria with his latest proclamations. The spat stems from Musk's recent interview with German magazine Der Spiegel where he discusses future collaboration with BMW on "battery technology or charging stations" and the possibility of a battery factory in Germany. But apparently, any future tie-ups are news to the Bavarian automaker. In an interview with the German business publication Wirtschafts Woche, an unnamed spokesperson for the company claims Musk said it all for PR value and swats down most of the statements. BMW has no intention of acquiring Tesla shares, and they aren't working together on any tech. There's not much chance for future cooperation on a battery factory in Germany, either. BMW believes that the cells can just as easily be purchased from suppliers, like other auto parts. The one slight concession is that the spokesperson said that the German automaker would be willing to supply Tesla with carbon fiber. That's not an exclusive offer, though, and the company is open to negotiate such a deal with any interested automaker.

BWM 135i with M3 V8 engine swap combines two things we miss the most

Thu, Apr 16 2015

If you've ever listened to the Autoblog Podcast, you've doubtlessly heard my views on the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. I don't much care for it. That's not to say it's bad, so much as it just isn't what an M car should be. Steven Ewing, Seyth Miersma and a number of other Autoblog staffers think I'm crazy (It's true, he is crazy –Ed.), but whatever. My position on the 1M would be dramatically different, however, had it been fitted from the factory with the truly fantastic 4.0-liter V8 from the E92 M3 (the last great M car, in this writer's humble opinion). Matt Farah of Drive took to the wheel of a 135i that's been completely reworked by Performance Technic and is owned by Marco Svizzero. The car required a salvageable E92 and what we imagine is an incalculable amount of wrench time, with the result being, as Farah says, "possibly the best BMW you could build at any price." Oh, and it sounds absolutely delicious. Check out the car in action.

BMW Motorad reveals Concept Stunt G 310 in Brazil

Wed, Oct 7 2015

BMW has been on a bit of a concept motorcycle bent lately, and each has taken a decidedly different approach from one another. The Motorad division did the Path 22 scrambler concept in June, the Concept 101 custom bagger in May, the Concept Roadster last year, and the Concept 90 retro racer the year before. Now it's at it again with the Concept Stunt G 310. As you might have guessed, the G 310 is a stunt bike. Its compact form is built around a single-cylinder engine canted rearwards with a rotated cylinder head to help optimize the weight balance. The intake was moved forward and the exhaust towards the rear, mounted under the seat, to enable the rider's freedom of movement. It has long travel in the suspension, but still rides on a short wheelbase – perfect for impressing the crowds. To that end, it was designed with collaboration from four-time stunt riding champion Chris Pfeiffer. It's also got a lockable throttle so the rider can take his hands off the controls (not advisable for the rest of us). The beefed-up secondary rear brake can be actuated by a squeeze of the finger. Axle pegs allow for additional foot-placement options, red crash bars protect the mechanical elements, and a specially designed "stunt tail" is milled from solid aluminum and provides an additional foot-hold. The shape is adorned with an eye-catching neon livery designed to give the impression of movement, even when it's sitting still. The bike will be unveiled in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at South America's preeminent motorcycle show. BMW Concept Stunt G 310 – Street. Style. Stunt. 06.10.2015 Munich/Sao Paulo. With the world premiere of the BMW Concept Stunt G 310 at South America's largest motorcycle show, BMW Motorrad is presenting a completely new side: the uncompromising interpretation of an aggressive and agile stunt bike based on a single cylinder study. Thanks to his experience as a four-times World and European stunt riding champion, Chris Pfeiffer, contributed to the realisation of the BMW Concept Stunt 310. "Stunt riding is a demanding and multi-faceted sport. Ideally you need a compact, agile bike which is also stable and robust at the same time. You have to achieve the ideal balance between aggressiveness and control", explains Chris Pfeiffer. Compact proportions, highest-level agility.
