If you're reading this listing, it's more than likely you're familiar with the 1-series M. If ever there is a BMW that fulfills the moniker of "Ultimate Driving Machine", the 1M is the benchmark. This is the car that feels right; the dimensions, the weight, the steering, the brakes, and best of all the thrust of 335 turbocharged horses. Ready to be driven, or tucked away and savored for weekends only, the 1M is the BMW we've all longed for, but were certain was nothing but a memory in the eyes of the automakers who seem to be following the "bigger is better" mentality. Unfortunately, perhaps the greatest driving BMW ever is now nothing but a memory, limited to only 740 produced, and available only in extremely limited supply on the used car market. Find one, buy it, keep it forever. There won't be another one. Honestly, what was BMW thinking?

The Toy Barn of Dublin is pleased to offer this absolutely beautiful BMW 1M, finished in classic Alpine White over black leather interior, with only 15k miles. This stunning example is different than the others that I've had the pleasure of being in for a few reasons. First, it's a fully loaded car; power heated seats, Harman Kardon Audio, Premium Package, Convenience Package, Navigation, etc, which seems to have NOT been the norm for dealers when ordering. Next, it's a one-owner car we took in on trade here towards a V10 R8 from the original owner who ordered it new from the BMW dealer in Buffalo. Finally, this is a no-stories car; clean Carfax, no modifications, no legendary track-day events to brag of, just well cared for (I hate to say pampered) and ultra-clean.

Condition wise, the Alpine White finish is nearly perfect, with 3M protection on the front portion of the hood,  and nearly flawless paint (only a couple of rock chips and a little scuffing under the front bumper, nearly undetectable until you're on the ground). The wheels are spotless, and the Michelin Pilot Sport tires are all 4 brand new. The original kidney grilles were upgraded with gloss black one (originals are included) and the side badge trim also was upgraded with gloss black, and the windows were tastefully tinted. Inside, the interior is also nearly spotless and looks new. From top to bottom, inside and out, I don't think you'll find one nicer. If you've been on the hunt for the Ultimate Driving Machine, and are struggling to find one, here it is. Practically new, absolutely gorgeous, and ready to be enjoyed. This is a no-stories car, no disappointments, near-new, sold with all of the books and keys, a clean Carfax history report, and just as you see it; gorgeous. We pride ourselves in offering for sale some of the most rare and difficult to find vehicles out there, and this 1M certainly fits that mold. Call us today, it won't be here for long!

Here are this year's top 5 automaker April Fools’ jokes

Mon, Apr 2 2018

April 1 is the wonderful day when PR departments really push themselves to top the zany jokes they came up with the previous year. And it's not just fast-food chains competing with each other, or breweries announcing they have released stuff like a fermented herring flavored beer: carmakers' media teams rarely miss out on the opportunity to play a little joke on their audience. Here are a few of our favorites from this year:1) Porsche Porsche announced that it's launching a Mission E tractor, styled to resemble its 1950s tractor models. "With a power output in excess of 700hp, the Mission E Tractor will be the fastest accelerating agricultural vehicle in the world, enabling farmers to harvest crops in record time with the added environmental benefits of zero emissions at source and significantly reduced operating noise."2) Lexus Lexus actually jumped the gun, telling us on March 28 that it's combining cars and drivers using DNA matching. The kicker was that with DNA-matched cars, owners would be able to start their Lexuses by licking the steering wheel.3) McLaren Automotive McLaren said it's boosting efficiency by quite eccentric measures, such as measuring the technology center's lake and floor tiles daily, and by synchronizing the staff's tea breaks.4) BMW Motorrad BMW's motorcycle arm is solving parts availability issues in remote locations by offering a 3D printer mounted permanently on the bike's rack: If you need to replace a broken-off gear lever, you can just print one. "The new system will mean that even very rarely required parts not generally stocked by BMW Motorrad sales partners can be supplied on a just-in-time basis." BMW even went to the lengths of announcing that the "BMW Motorrad iPart 3D Mobile Printer" was tested on the Antarctic, by erecting a tent whose poles were produced onsite.5) Honda Last but not least, Honda UK purportedly cut the roof off a new CR-V, calling it the CR-V Roadster. Tellingly, no convertible top was even offered for the concept, "making it a no-top rather than a drop-top. This innovative design makes it a vehicle purely for sunnier climates and therefore completely useless for the two-day British summer which traditionally occurs in May."Related Video: Featured Gallery Top 5 April Fools 2018 Image Credit: Porsche Green Humor Weird Car News BMW Honda Lexus McLaren Porsche bmw motorrad mclaren automotive

BMW unleashes new M4 racer on DTM

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

We may not get to enjoy the fruits of it all, but we're in the midst of a golden age in touring car racing around the world. In Northern Europe, rival local series have amalgamated into the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. In the UK, the British Touring Car Championship is enjoying the largest and most diverse grid in its long history. In Australia, the V8 Supercars series has grown from a Holden vs. Ford battle to include challengers from Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo. And in Germany, the DTM championship has managed to lure BMW back onto the grid to open up the battle between Mercedes and Audi. All good things, in short.
Since returning to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2012, BMW has won the drivers' title once and the constructors' title twice, proving the Bavarian manufacturer to be not only a suitable challenger to the two-horse race between its star- and ring-emblazoned rivals, but the dominant force in German tin-top racing. Now BMW is set to enter its third season since returning to the DTM, and this is the car with which it intends to do so.
Replacing the M3 DTM that has impressively won half of the DTM races it has contested over the past two years, BMW's latest racing car is made in the mold of the new M4 coupe. Only it's even meaner. While the production version has switched to a turbo six, the DTM version still uses a V8: a 4.0-liter unit with four-valve cylinder heads, mandatory air restrictors and a Bosch ECU to channel 480 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the rear set of Hankook racing slicks through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The lightweight chassis is rounded out with competition-level aerodynamics and all the mandatory safety equipment.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection

Fri, Dec 29 2023

Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage.  One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.
