THE GRANDEST OF GRAND TOURERSLOOKING TO THE PAST TO REFINE THE PRESENT.The Mulsanne is much more than a simple pairing of luxury with power. Its fearsome acceleration, for example, is felt not as a sudden blast forward, but as a smooth surge of seemingly limitless power. The character of the V8 engine note, barely perceptible from inside the cabin while the car is cruising, builds to a rich, powerful roar on acceleration when the throttle is opened wide. ENGINEERING PASSIONEFFORTLESS POWER. IMPECCABLY DELIVERED.The Mulsanne features a re-calibrated V8 engine, with a 13% efficiency improvement and 50 miles greater range. Its sleek yet subtle silhouette is free from needless clutter such as antennae. But it’s the quality of the experience inside the car that makes its phenomenal performance so striking. PERFORMANCEA V8 FOR THE 21ST CENTURY.The Mulsanne benefits from a re-engineered V8 engine, providing extra range and improvements in efficiency of 13%. Yet with an 8-speed automatic transmission boasting an electronic shift interface, there is no compromise on performance: the Mulsanne is capable of 184 mph (296 km/h). COLOUR AND CHOICESETTING THE TONE FOR EXCELLENCE.The arrival of the new Mulsanne range brings a wider array of colours and finishes. There are over 100 exterior colours and four paint finishes to choose from, alongside 24 different coloured leather hides and 10 VENEERS CRAFTSMANSHIPATTENTION TO THE SMALLEST DETAIL.Craftsmanship – it’s probably the word that best sums up the extraordinary quality and finish of the Mulsanne. In an era where even some luxury cars are assembled in a matter of hours, we work in a more meticulous manner – at a pace set by the attention to detail and commitment that every one of our craftsmen and women bring to their jobs. Virtually as much time is spent on trimming out the Bentley Mulsanne’s cabin as is taken on building the rest of the car. One look at the end result and the reasons are clear. No stitch out of line. No shortcuts taken. No settling for great when perfection is possible. Take something as seemingly simple as seatbelts. Not only are the seatbelts in the Mulsanne colour coded to match all of the 25 leather hide colours available for the interior, but even the buckles are too. Everywhere you look in the cabin you’ll discover small finesses that signal a more REFINED TECHNOLOGYCUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY MEETS CUTTING-EDGE DESIGN.The Mulsanne sees traditional craftsmanship teamed with ultra-modern automotive technology, to create an environment like no other. It is a space designed for thinkers. For visionaries. For drivers and passengers who insist on perfection. The Mulsanne includes a 14-speaker sound system with Digital Signal Processing (DSP). Audio perfectionists have the option to go even further: the Naim for Bentley system comprises 20 SPEAKERS INTERIOR DESIGNMAKING THE CABIN COME TO LIFE.The interior of the Bentley Mulsanne is unlike any other car in the world. Step inside and you immediately become immersed in a unique atmosphere where carefully positioned mood lighting and the aroma of leather are complemented by knurled stainless steel, smooth wood VENEERS EXTERIOR DESIGNADVANCED AND ELEGANT IN EQUAL MEASURE.The Mulsanne is a sight to behold. Superforming technology has created striking design lines – sweeping yet sharp, they bestow a unique aura of power and refinement. The Mulsanne’s large, inset headlamps are instantly recognisable as those of a Bentley, while remaining unique to the Mulsanne. They flank the iconic Bentley matrix grille that covers the radiator, finished in eye-catching polished stainless steel. Technical

Bentley bringing two-seat sports car to Geneva?
Tue, Feb 17 2015Long subsided on the Continental and Mulsanne model lines, Bentley is on a mission to expand its production portfolio. And the latest reports from Great Britain suggest that it'll present a proposal for expanding it further next month with a conceptual two-seat sports car. The idea has been rumored for several months now, but Autocar claims that Bentley will showcase the two-seat GT at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The new model is tipped to be positioned alongside (instead of substantially above or below) the existing Continental GT – much like Ferrari offers the California and 458 Italia (or new 488 GTB) at roughly the same price point – but will likely pack the British automaker's now-familiar, Audi-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Its presentation at the Swiss expo will give Crewe the chance to gauge public opinion before deciding whether to proceed with production plans. It wouldn't be the first time that Bentley had toyed with the idea of a more compact GT. It revealed the Java concept way back in 1994 that never, strictly speaking, made production, but could be said to have paved the way for the current Continental range, and showcased the Hunaudieres mid-engined supercar prototype in 1999 that presaged its winning entry into Le Mans. The as-yet unnamed two-seat GT would be just one of several new models being touted for the British automaker. It is set to launch the new Bentayga crossover in the near future, potentially to be followed by a slant-back crossover coupe variant, a smaller crossover is also said to be under consideration, and it is also rumored to be weighing a four-door coupe to slot in between the Flying Spur and Mulsanne, the latter of which has also been showcased as a two-door convertible version as well.
Bentley Mulsanne 6.75 Edition is the sedan's sendoff into retirement
Tue, Jan 14 2020Bentley is closing the latest Mulsanne chapter with 30 examples the Mulsanne 6.75 Edition by Mulliner, celebrating the 61-year-old V8 that first appeared in the 1959 Bentley S2. Once those 30 cars have been built, the name retires for the second time — after being used on a flagship sedan from 1980 to 1992 — and the Flying Spur takes over as the carmaker's top-tier offering. Starting with the 530-horsepower Mulsanne Speed, the 6.75 Edition adds gloss black and bright chrome jewelry, including a dark tint for the Flying B hood ornament, Mulliner radiator, and exhaust finishers. There are also chrome badges, bright machined faces with black pockets for the 21-inch, five-spoke wheels, and welcome lighting that flashes the special edition name. Under the hood, the normally silver intake cover gets dressed in black, and the engine number plaque bears the signature of brand CEO Adrian Hallmark instead of the engine builder. The interior can be specced in four single-color hides, either Beluga, Fireglow, Imperial Blue, or Newmarket Tan. All are automatically contrasted with silver — silver-painted veneer, silver seat piping and silver sheen that shows through the ventilated thrones, an instrument panel in high-gloss Grand Black, and door trim in Dark Engine Spin Aluminum. Other touches to mark the occasion are ventilation controls designed to look like the engine oil cap, cutaway drawings of the engine on the gauges and clock face, and more 6.75 Edition stitching and badging. The carmaker pointed to the end of the 6.75-liter V8 four years ago, but that was when there were plans for a successor to be powered by a new V12. Times having changed, the Flying Spur will lead the way with its 6.0-liter W12 and 4.0-liter V8 engines sourced from Volkswagen, and a hybrid model coming for 2023. Bentley didn't mention a price for the Mulsanne 6.75 Edition, because of course. But the 2020 Mulsanne Speed starts at $342,300. Start there and add money.
2022 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible puts 208 mph of wind in your hair
Tue, Apr 13 2021The Bentley Continental GT is once again merging the higher-performance capabilities of its Speed trim level with the open-top convertible body style in the new 2022 Bentley Continental GT Speed convertible. The GT Speed convertible's upgrades largely mirror those of the recently unveiled 2022 GT Speed coupe. They start with increased output from Bentley's W12 engine, which has been turned up to 650 horsepower from 626 horsepower in the non-Speed W12 (torque remains unchanged at 664 lb-ft) and given a more characterful exhaust note. The W12 here again pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, although both have been recalibrated for Speed duty. The transmission spends more time in lower gears, while the all-wheel-drive system has a more rearward torque bias in the various drive modes. The combination is good for a factory-stated 0-to-60-mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph. That's 0.1 second and quicker than the standard W12 convertible and 1 mph faster, thus earning the Speed its name. The Speed's chassis also has been upgraded, with four-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and optional carbon-ceramic disc brakes with 10-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. They join existing Continental GT chassis technologies that include active air suspension, adaptive dampers, and active anti-roll bars powered by a specific 48-volt electric system. Speed-specific 22-inch wheels are offered in a dark-tint finish to match the mesh grille or, alternately, bright silver or gloss black. Special side gills and discrete "Speed" badging complete the modest exterior makeover. The convertible top is offered in a choice of seven colors including an oh-so-British tweed, and there are eight headliner colors. The fully automated roof can be stowed or raised in 19 seconds. The cabin features Alcantara microsuede accents and two-tone leather and Alcantara seating surfaces with diamond-in-diamond pattern stitching and "Speed" logos stitched into the headrests. Piano black trim is standard, but numerous wood veneers can be specced. There are also metal-trimmed pedals. Heated and ventilated seats are on hand, along with a heated steering wheel and heated armrests to maximize the top-down driving season. There's also a standard neck-warmer that is said to be more powerful and also quieter than before.
