1995 Audi S6 Avant - Rare on 2040-cars
New Canaan, Connecticut, United States
I have been asked to sell this car a hundred times. Here is your chance. It is going to be for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end this auction if the car is sold locally. It's a huge loss for me!
THIS IS FOR PICKUP ONLY IN CT! For those of you who know this car, well then you know it's a unicorn! It is a rare 1995 S6 Avant with Tornado red on black interior and truly one of the nicest in existence! The car is currently garaged in Connecticut, inoperable after the AAN block blew. It is loaded with goodies and ready for someone to put it back on the road. I have spent the past year and a half collecting rare or hard to find parts, customizing one-off parts and putting together the necessary recipe for a 93 Eurovan Stroker build. The following is the list of parts that are included. I have included some pics but I have hundreds available and would share via email to those interested. I will not part this car out either, it is too nice for that. 205,000K chassis miles 1 of only 300 in US with Tornado Red Ext. / Black Int. 5spd VEMS Lltech European Front Valance European White Headlights and Corners Apikol Center Mount Intercooler 2 Bennett Coil Over Suspension w/ Adjustable Camber Plates BBS LM Rims (high quality replicas) Porsche 993 "Big Red" Brakes KKK "K26/27 Hybrid" Turbo Stainless Steel Stromung Exhaust Mance Custom Fuel Lines Mance Titanium Alloy Adjustable Strut Brace Custom Ported & Polished Intake Manifold w/ One-Off Custom Milled URS6 Logo Custom One-Off Head cover / Injector Cover Custom Throttle Body (70MM) 034 Motorsports HO Fuel Injectors 034 Motorsports HO Fuel Pump 034 Motorsports HO Ignition 034 Motorsports Short Shift Kit 034 Motorsports Custom Stainless Steel Throttle Cam 034 Motorsports Aluminum Catch Can Apikol Custom Lead Weighted Gear Shift Rod Polished Waste Gate Stage 4 Southbend Clutch (new in box) Apikol Aluminum Flywheel Samco Hose Kit Oil & Cooling Hose Kits (stainless & braided) New Door Trims all around Custom One-Off Carbon Fiber Coil Cover Custom Floor Mats (hand stitched) 1993 Eurovan block (100K miles) - 95.5 Crank, Block Shot-Peened, Honed, Bored and Fitted w/ Custom Wiseco Pistons 83MM (wide skirts), Custom Rifle Drilled Rods and more.......... This car has always been kept in a garage and as you can see from the pictures the paint is unbelievable for this age. There are of course little nicks and chips that are typical for the stance and speed of this car, but no real dents or scratches of any kind. Being a perfectionist, the rear bumper could use a respray to be perfect and there is a small rust spot beneath the rear right tail light that is the size of a half dollar. Before the motor blew it was about 425WHP. The new Stoker build has the potential for 600 WHP or better. This is the ultimate sleeper!!!! 1984 Audi Sport Quattro expected to hammer at nearly half a million dollars
Tue, Dec 23 2014The highest prices paid at automobile auctions continue to be claimed by European sports cars, with names like Ferrari and Bugatti forever topping the lists. But what we have here is not quite a sports car. It's more of a hot hatch, but its still expected to fetch between $350,000 and $475,000 when it goes up for auction next month in Arizona. That's because this is no ordinary hot hatch... it's the prototypical hot hatch: the legendary Audi Sport Quattro, one of the most maniacal and dominant homologated rally machines ever devised. Shorter in wheelbase and dartier of handling than the Ur-Quattro that came before it, the later Sport Quattro was built to comply to with the FIA's legendary Group B regulations. That meant that it competed with the likes of the Lancia 037, Ford RS200 and Ferrari 288 GTO – beating them all in the World Rally Championship one after another – but also had to be built in limited quantities and sold to the public. And so Audi and its nascent Quattro GmbH skunkworks division built 214 road-going examples of the Sport Quattro, and this could very well be the most immaculate example in existence. It was previously owned by noted collector Yoshikuni Okamoto of Kobe, Japan, and with barely more than 5,000 miles on the odometer, recently underwent an exhaustive service at Audi of Fairfield, CT – one of the company's largest dealerships – and though the Sport Quattro was never offered for sale in the US, this one is now fully registered for use on American roads and comes in impeccable condition despite its 30 years of age. The gavel drops during the RM Auctions event at the Arizona Biltmore on January 15-16, 2015. Even the low end of the pre-auction estimate is nearly double the $184,860 which Sports Car Market reports Bonhams sold an '85 Audi Sport Quattro in September 2013. Audi shows off the Prologue Avant Concept as a plug-in hybrid
Wed, Feb 25 2015The Audi Prologue Avant Concept goes in a different direction than the Prologue coupe, in more ways than just its five-door wagon body. The coupe was first shown at the LA Auto Show with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8, then went redux at CES as a hybrid with a total of 677 horsepower and 701 pound-feet of torque. The only-slightly-larger Prologue Avant sticks with the hybrid but gets the system from the Q7 E-Tron quattro, meaning a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 TDI with 353 hp and a 100-kW electric motor strapped to the eight-speed transmission. Total output is 455 hp and 553 lb-ft, pure electric range is 33 miles, and 0-62 miles per hour comes in 5.1 seconds. The forward section of cabin with its screen-based Tie Fighter displays and controls comes over from the coupe, as well as the four individual seats, but the Avant lavishes attention on rear passengers in ways not possible in the two-door. They also get a screen on the pass-through center console for convenience controls, and detachable OLED screens - a la the detachable tablets in the Q7 - with which they can send information to the front occupants. As a traditional Audi avant is to a coupe relative, the Prologue Avant is all about bringing the family along on the digital highway. We'll see it at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and Audi is again talking up how the design language will migrate to production cars. It also makes noises in the press release below about near-production many of the technologies are in the concept, so it looks like there could be all sorts of Easter Eggs on the way from the Ingolstadt brand. 2016 Audi RS 7 Performance Quick Spin
Mon, Feb 15 2016Audi's roster of Sevens – the A7, S7, and RS 7 – gets a new and overachieving member with the new RS 7 Performance. The big story is that it ups the RS 7's 560 horsepower to 605. And while the advertised torque rating of 517 pound-feet doesn't change, Audi says the car will actually produce 553 lb-ft during moments of overboost. Hunkered-down with 21-inch wheels filling the wheel wells, the RS 7 Performance has a top speed of 190 miles per hour, and runs to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds – our informal stopwatch tests suggest that may even be conservative. We drove the RS 7 Performance in Florida, which included an eventful lap around Daytona International Speedway's road course, just prior to the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. More about that in a moment. Driving Notes The RS 7 Performance is pretty rough-riding at its softest, a problem only on bad pavement and roads with dips. It isn't punishing, but it never lets you forget this is a performance luxury car, in that order. The eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission is a sweetheart, never confused and always standing by to maximize the 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8's muscle. It would have been nice to be able to dial in a little extra exhaust sound – what you can hear makes you want more. The RS sport seats, with optional Valcona leather and Alcantara inlays and steering wheel cover, are excellent. There's a reason why Audi is a template for automotive interior designers. Rear seat room is a little tight but tolerable. As for that lap at Daytona: We were only given one, so we went for it, and hit 164 mph on the back stretch before having to wade deep into the ABS for the bus stop turn. The engine was still pulling hard – we have little doubt the advertised 190 mph top speed is accurate. While the big ceramic brakes did their job, we weren't given a cool-down lap, and the combination of 4,500 pounds and 164 mph seemed to have set the front brakes on fire. No, really. It took a spritz of water to drown them out. We were told that it isn't unusual for ceramic brakes, the first time they hit 800 degrees, to burn out some impurities. Afterwards, the brakes worked fine, but we sure got a lot of attention from the IMSA Rolex crew on pit road. The RS 7 Performance is a viceless car, one we'd cheerfully drive for a very long time.
