2005.5 Audi S4, Quattro-awd, 4.2l W/6 Speed Manual & 116,000 Miles on 2040-cars
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
This is a great S4 and it's fully loaded. 4.2L V8, Quattro-AWD, 6 Speed Manual, Audi Navigation, Leather Recarro Seats, Adaptive HID Headlights ad more. ***BUT THE ENGINE NEEDS A TIMING SYSTEM REBUILD***
The car is currently at an Audi dealership waiting to be (or not to be) repaired. I am looking to sell the car as-is. The price listed is for the car before any repairs are done. This would be a great car for anyone who knows how to work on these engines. I would also be open to selling the car at full value after having Audi perform the timing system repair as well as the preventative maintenance they recommended with the estimate. Other Notables… -I am the third owner of this car. 1st owner leased it from an Audi Dealer in MI, 2nd owner was an Audi Service Rep in Nashville, and then myself. Almost all the maintenance and repair work has been performed by Audi Service Centers. I have saved all the service records from maintenance/repairs for the life of this car. -Newer Michelin Primacy All Season Tires with approx 9,000 miles on them (four wheel alignment was performed when these were installed). -New HID bulbs installed by Audi two months ago. -Replaced Power Steering Hoses less than a year ago. -Black RS4 Grille and Black Badging installed a year ago (I still have the original grille and chrome badging). -S4 Carpeted Floor Mats and S4 Rubber Winter Mats included. -Three electronic keys and one valet key included. Audi Prologue concept drives itself to CES with updated powertrain
Thu, Jan 8 2015What's the point in crafting a one-off concept car if it only gets to stand in the spotlight at one show? That's what automakers have been asking themselves recently, and the answer has, generally speaking, been to repaint their show cars, give them a bit of new tech and put them back on center stage. And the latest to do so is Audi, which has given its Prologue concept a new lease on life. The Prologue was originally unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show less than two months ago, showing the way forward for the future of Audi design, in an elegant coupe form that looked ready to take on the Mercedes S-Class Coupe. We even got a chance to drive it around the streets of LA, and when we did, we marveled at the concept's advanced infotainment system that caters a range of personal preferences according to who's on board. "It's easy to see how this could even reach for chauffeured, or autonomously driven vehicles" in the future, we said at the time. And it turns out Audi was on the same page. At CES this year, Audi has brought back the Prologue concept, given it a darker coat of grey paint, a grey-tone interior (instead of the previous shades of brown and tan), a fresh set of wheels and equipped it with the autonomous tech the German automaker has been at the forefront of developing. Though other automakers have been fitting their self-driving prototypes with all-electric powertrains, Audi kept the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in place – but fitted it with a hybrid assist to drive output up from an already prodigious 605 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque to an even more impressive 677 hp and 701 lb-ft, dropping the 0-62 time down to 3.5 seconds. Now that's the kind of "piloted driving" tech (as Audi calls it) that we can get behind.
Audi boss: no to minivan
Fri, Jun 5 2015Well done to you, Rupert Stadler. We salute you. The Audi exec went on record during an interview with Automotive News and basically shut the door on the idea of a Audi-badged minivan. When asked by AN, Stadler pointed to the high conquest rate enjoyed by crossovers and SUVs compared to minivans. On top of that, Stadler argued against vehicles like the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer by pointing out that customers tend to shy away from minivans because of the image they put forth. "Consumers are more likely to switch to an SUV and are more likely to pay a premium price because SUVs are considered more emotional," Stadler told AN. "We would rather be the emotional choice than the rational choice." It's not all good news, though. Stadler gave a resounding "no" to an A8 wagon, based on the Prologue Avant Concept, as well as a BMW 6 Series rival. Instead, Audi will focus on the upcoming Q8 SUV, which the exec said was "more likely to be a winner than a large coupe." The company is also hard at work on additional Sportback models, although Stadler didn't elaborate on which models could get the five-door treatment. Related Video:
Audi RS Q3 gets snarlier, hits 62 mph in 4.8 seconds [w/video]
Thu, 06 Nov 2014Well, that was quick. A mere 20 months after its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Audi has issued a fairly significant update to its RS Q3 crossover. A light exterior refresh - the most noticeable change is that the grille surround and headlights are now joined - belies more significant changes under the compact crossover's hood.
Power from the 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder has been boosted nicely from 310 horsepower to 340, while torque has jumped from 309 pound-feet to 332 lb-ft. The result of this extra thrust is that the tiny CUV can now scamper to 62 miles per hour in a seriously quick 4.8 seconds, rather than the original RS Q3's 5.5-second sprint. A new fifth-generation multi-plate clutch is fitted to the seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission, which Audi claims will now deliver even quicker shifts.
Lighter brake rotors with ridiculous eight-piston calipers in the front provide what we imagine is a lot of stopping power, while Audi continues to offer an optional adaptive damper system. 19-inch wheels are standard while 20s are optional.
