2001 Audi S4 for sale with 114k miles. This is the manual 6 speed transmission, solid black leather interior (NOT alcantara), fully loaded with cold weather package (heated seats, heated mirrors, ski boot), bose stereo, and factory navigation. Excellent condition. This is considered a 2001.5 as it HAS the mid-year changes. This is a rare TWO OWNER adult owned vehicle. I purchased this vehicle in 2004 Certified Pre-Owned and have loved it since. I went through great pains to find a Nogaro blue 6 speed with solid black leather!!! Alas, it is time to be enjoyed by a new lucky owner. Always garage kept (as evident by the paint) and fortunately my employers have always had parking garages. Always faithfully maintained, it has never let me down. Timing belt was done at 90k miles with the cam seals and plugs being replaced as well and coolant flush. I have a detailed maintenance log available going back to delivery acceptance by the first owner. Original window sticker (MSRP $44k) and all dealer sales materials available.

I recently flushed the brake system and put a new fuel filter in. All other important maintenance items like valve cover/cam gaskets, transmission oil, rear differential oil, and power steering oil, have been previously replaced with full-synthetic lubricants. All oil changes have been done during my ownership at 5k mile intervals with full synthetic oil. I have never put a drop of anything other than 93 octane in this vehicle. AC blows ice cold. Tires are 235/45/17 Sumitomos with approximately 75%+ life remaining. Control arms are good. Transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly in all gears. Engine is not leaking or burning any fluids. Turbos are boosting 100% with no problems. I have all of the plastic engine covers. I never wanted this to be a heavily modified vehicle, with that said, there have been some minor modifications done to the vehicle to either improve reliability or boost performance to a reasonable degree:
*Giac "X" tune ($600), adds approximate 70-80 HP/Ft lbs. torque. GIAC is a preferred software provider for many high end vehicles including Bently, BMW, and Porsche. This was done via flashing the ECU , this is not a plug in chip. Installed at the GIAC authorized dealer in Dallas, TX. http://www.giacusa.com/
*VDO center mount boost gauge ($100) cars with turbos should have boost gauges!! It is a steering column mount, nothing has been chopped or cut!
*Compustar alarm installed ($600), adds programmable turbo timer, remote start, and the ability to roll up/down the windows remotely. Has an advertised 1 mile range. Remote start is great in the summer and winter to cool/heat up the cabin in advance. Remote roll down is great too. http://www.compustar.com/
*Front snub mount installed, better density than the OEM counterpart that can turn to mush.
*Silicone throttle body boot. Significantly stronger than the OEM boot prone to failure.
*APR R1 diverter valves ($300). Improves performance and reliability over OEM.
*Updated factory PCV valve.
*20% rear/35% front tint (Tint Specialist, S.Lamar) quality tint.
*Dual audio MP3/bluetooth headunit, allows for bluetooth connectivity, streaming audio, hands free talk, reads MP3s from thumbdrives. (I have the OEM working headunit if you prefer.)
*Alpine Subwoofer amplifier professionally installed for rear sub box.
*JL Audio dual voice coil sub box.
The only thing this vehicle needs is a new center cluster display. The display fails on EVERY single one of these cars as you know if you know B5 audis. This is a $200 fix, I just have not had the time to repair it. There are a few exterior scratches and the usual paint chips up front. Interior is near flawless. Other than that it just needs a driver, no check engine lights or codes. I replaced the primary 02 sensors around 100k as a maintenance item.
It is becoming very difficult to find this cars in good running order with a documented maintenance history that have not changed hands many times. This would be a great car as is, or, if you are into tuning would be an excellent platform to start with. Registration good through 11/13 inspection through 10/13. Plates can be transferred to buyer with appropriate paperwork.
I will answer any questions you may have. I can make the car available for viewing with appointment. Clean and clear title in hand. Cash or certified check, however, I will not release the vehicle until a certified check clears. NO TRADES!! I have no problems making the vehicle available for a 3rd party inspection. I will pick you up at Austin airport if you're coming in from out of State. I will also assist with shipping the vehicle. Car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.

Audi R18 suffers huge crash during Le Mans practice, driver conscious and alert
Wed, 11 Jun 2014Loic Duval, driver of the #1 Audi R18 E-tron Quattro, suffered a massive crash today during free practice for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Duval's car reportedly went off track backwards at high speed near the Porsche Curves and flew into the retaining fence. There is no video of the actual crash at the moment, but a video of the aftermath (viewable below) shows significant damage to the Audi and to the fence. The wall nearby the car appears unaffected.
Thankfully, it occurred quite close to a marshal's stand, and they were present almost immediately after the incident. Both the official press release from the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a tweet from Audi Sport (below) indicated that Duval was conscious after the crash, and he was taken by ambulance to the medical center and then to the hospital. The press release says: "His condition is encouraging." However, any injuries he might have sustained are unknown at this time. After the crash, the course was red flagged, and practice resumed about 50 minutes later.
Duval is alert. He will be transported from the Medical Center to the hospital for further examinations #R18 #LM24 @FIAWEC @24hoursoflemans
Top Gear names BMW i8 Car of the Year, Corvette, Ferrari, Mercedes also win big
Fri, Dec 5 2014The lads at Top Gear have released their listing of the finest cars of the past year, handing the ultimate honor to BMW's revolutionary i8 plug-in-hybrid supercar. "The i8 is a milestone in the annals of automotive history and a glorious statement for an exciting and positive future. The i8 delivers - and then some," the British mag wrote. The i8, though, was far from the only hybridized car to take victories. James May and Richard Hammond both highlighted hybrids as their personal cars of the year, with May saluting the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Hamster, unsurprisingly, heaping praise on the Porsche 918 Spyder. Jeremy Clarkson, meanwhile, opted to shock many by selecting not only an American car as his best of 2014, but giving the honor to of all things, a Corvette. Clarkson wasn't the only person to honor the USA's iconic sports car, with the new, 650-horsepower Z06 variant being named TG's Muscle Car of the Year. Other big winners include Mercedes-Benz, which TG honored for S-Class Coupe (Luxury Car of the Year), the new AMG GT (Sports Car of the Year) and the not-for-US C-Class Estate (Family Car of the Year). The 458 Italia Speciale A snagged a second win for Ferrari. The best of the rest include the Citroen C4 Cactus, Renault Twingo, Volkswagen Golf R, Lamborghini Huracan and Audi TT. Take a look below for the celebratory press blast from BMW. The BMW i8 wins Top Gear Car of the Year The BMW i8 has been named as Top Gear magazine's global Car of the Year 2014. The plug-in hybrid performance vehicle beat off some stiff competition from a host of other premium and luxury manufacturers to win the overall award. The editorial team of Top Gear commended the BMW i8 for its breadth of abilities. Its 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine combined with an electric motor gives searing acceleration and driver enjoyment but all wrapped in a package that takes BMW's EfficientDynamics philosophy to the extreme courtesy of CO2 emissions less than 49g/km and a 135mpg combined cycle figure. Charlie Turner, Editor in Chief at Top Gear magazine, said: "The BMW is a milestone in the annals of automotive history and a glorious statement for an exciting and positive future. The i8 delivers – and then some. It's the kind of car we should celebrate, a beautiful vision of the future, delivered now.
2015 Audi Q3
Mon, Apr 13 2015There are two ways to approach a brand-new segment in the auto industry. First, an automaker can take a gamble and introduce a completely new vehicle, catering to the specific demands of the marketplace(s) in question. In the compact, premium CUV segment, we've seen Buick do this with the Encore, and Mercedes-Benz with the GLA-Class. The other option is to introduce a vehicle already sold in another market. Considering the amount of time it takes to bring a new vehicle from paper to production, there is plenty to gain in the short-term with this approach. It's not without its downsides, though, as we found after a week behind the wheel of the 2015 Audi Q3, a vehicle that was initially launched in 2011. Cute though it may be – it was referred to at least once by a passerby during our testing as "totes adorbs" – Ingolstadt's decision to introduce a vehicle that's already been on sale for four years, and is effectively approaching the last half of its lifecycle, leaves the Q3 at a significant disadvantage relative to the newer competition. Despite crossing its first auto show stage four years ago, the Q3 remains a handsome little bugger. Audi's designs, while conservative, tend to age very well, and the compact Q3 is no exception. It's like a scaled-down Q5 in most respects, although certain design pieces, like its more aggressively raked rear window and shorter front and rear overhangs, belie the significantly smaller Q3's figure. Due to its age, the Q3 was, fortunately, designed before the current A3 hit the market. That means it avoids the unattractive, minimalist dash of the A3, opting for a more traditional Audi design, with a strip of brushed aluminum on the passenger's side, a user-friendly center stack and a suitably large nav screen front and center. While the overall layout is attractive, the material quality is not what we'd expect of a newer Audi. There's nothing that feels exceedingly cheap – the plastics just feel old and too familiar. It's difficult to describe, but as soon as you climb in the Q3, things like the switchgear for the HVAC controls immediately remind you that this is a vehicle that's been on sale since 2011. While our definition of interior quality has evolved over the years, our idea of a driver-friendly cabin has not. The Q3 scores highly in this regard, featuring the elevated seating position that makes CUVs so popular with the general public.
