2012 Audi R8 5.2 V10 Coupe | Phantom Black/black | 6mt | 5,600 Miles on 2040-cars
Morris Plains, New Jersey, United States
Hey guys,
I have a 2012 Audi R8 V10 Coupe for sale. This car has been the weekend car to supplement my supercharged E92 M3, and it's been a toy for me to drive on sundays to the local car meets and to take out every so often. It has been meticulously maintained, kept under the OEM Audi car cover whenever it's not being driven and kept in the garage. Car was purchased from Maserati of Manhattan in June of 2012 and car has not given any issues. Car drives straight and true, pulls like a freight train and has no issues shifting or any engine issues. Body is perfect, and the car is in mint shape. Some facts on the car to try to answer some quick common questions: - No Accidents - I have the carfax on hand - Clean Title in hand. - Two-owner's, originally owned also in NJ. Car has never seen salt/bad weather. Always stored in climate-controlled units and driven in good weather. - Located in North Jersey, I'd be willing to ship the vehicle/meet somewhere reasonable. - Car will be delivered with a fresh wash. - Test drives welcome only with cash ready/deposit placed. Please no tire kickers or low ballers. I am aware of what the vehicle is worth so please kindly respect that. - I have no problem taking the vehicle to the local mechanic/dealer/indy shop for a PPI at the buyer's expense. - If you need pictures of a specific area just tell me and I'll post them up or text them to you. - Car is cosmetically and mechanically perfect. No scratches, dings, dents, etc. - Car rides smooth, no issues. Would not hesitate to drive the car across country without a problem. - Title in hand, carfax in hand, two keys (have to find the second one) and valet key, as well as owner's manual. If interested, please call/text/email/pm. I check forums, phone and email frequently so I'll try my best to get back to you as soon as possible. If you call and I don't answer, I'm most likely working or in class. Leave a voicemail so I can get back to you. I will NOT respond to lowball offers. Please don't waste your time or my time. I appreciate the interest. 2017 Audi A4 Deep Dive
Thu, Jul 16 2015Unchanged. Plain. Boring. These words have been used to describe the new 2017 Audi A4, but they all miss the point entirely. Yes, the design of the new A4 is evolutionary, rather than a ground-up restyling. But as they say in ancient High German, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Of course, if you're at all interested in the 2017 Audi A4, you've probably read all about it in the official press release a few days ago. So we'll cut to the chase and tell you the bits you don't already know: the American-market details. We spent a day at Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt last week finding out the latest and poking around the A4 in the metal. The new A4 is wider, longer, and roomier than before. The lines are crisper and sharper, but yes, the proportions have remained very similar. That was done on purpose, thoughtfully. Not out of laziness. Stand any two sequential generations of Porsche 911 next to each other and you'll find they are rather similar. And yes, people do complain about that. But they also complain about the property tax rate on their third home in Monaco. That familiar-looking body gets a shockingly low coefficient of drag of just 0.23. The improvements in drag come from fine-tuning details down to the placement of the side mirror (now on the door, rather than the triangular window panel) and the contouring of the inner edge of the side mirror, which gets little vortex generating bumps to improve the turbulent airflow in that area, reducing drag. Attention to detail and refinement of a successful design – not boring, lazy repetition. Another notable departure in the styling of the new A4 is equally subtle, but even more significant from a precision manufacturing perspective: the hood has no cut lines on its upper surface. Instead, the hood now wraps around the tops of the fenders, the cut line integrating with the sharp crease that runs down the entire body side. The creation of this cut line requires extremely tight manufacturing tolerances to enable the precise alignment of the hood and fender gap with the stamped-in crease in the door panel; misalignment would be obvious and catastrophic to the clean, simple design's flow. Now, let's rip off this Band-Aid: no, we won't be getting the Avant. Why? Because no one buys it, vociferous vocalizations on the Internet aside.
2015 Audi Q3
Mon, Apr 13 2015There are two ways to approach a brand-new segment in the auto industry. First, an automaker can take a gamble and introduce a completely new vehicle, catering to the specific demands of the marketplace(s) in question. In the compact, premium CUV segment, we've seen Buick do this with the Encore, and Mercedes-Benz with the GLA-Class. The other option is to introduce a vehicle already sold in another market. Considering the amount of time it takes to bring a new vehicle from paper to production, there is plenty to gain in the short-term with this approach. It's not without its downsides, though, as we found after a week behind the wheel of the 2015 Audi Q3, a vehicle that was initially launched in 2011. Cute though it may be – it was referred to at least once by a passerby during our testing as "totes adorbs" – Ingolstadt's decision to introduce a vehicle that's already been on sale for four years, and is effectively approaching the last half of its lifecycle, leaves the Q3 at a significant disadvantage relative to the newer competition. Despite crossing its first auto show stage four years ago, the Q3 remains a handsome little bugger. Audi's designs, while conservative, tend to age very well, and the compact Q3 is no exception. It's like a scaled-down Q5 in most respects, although certain design pieces, like its more aggressively raked rear window and shorter front and rear overhangs, belie the significantly smaller Q3's figure. Due to its age, the Q3 was, fortunately, designed before the current A3 hit the market. That means it avoids the unattractive, minimalist dash of the A3, opting for a more traditional Audi design, with a strip of brushed aluminum on the passenger's side, a user-friendly center stack and a suitably large nav screen front and center. While the overall layout is attractive, the material quality is not what we'd expect of a newer Audi. There's nothing that feels exceedingly cheap – the plastics just feel old and too familiar. It's difficult to describe, but as soon as you climb in the Q3, things like the switchgear for the HVAC controls immediately remind you that this is a vehicle that's been on sale since 2011. While our definition of interior quality has evolved over the years, our idea of a driver-friendly cabin has not. The Q3 scores highly in this regard, featuring the elevated seating position that makes CUVs so popular with the general public.
Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing
Fri, 08 Nov 2013Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus
