Selling because my growing family is getting too big for this amazing car.

This Audi is amazing and has worked so well for what we needed when we needed it.  The extra cargo space in the trunk from being a wagon made it so much better than a regular A6.  One of the best things about it is that it isn't a minivan.  When I bought this car it had right around 170,000 miles on it and was in the same condition that it is in now plus a new set of tires at 190,000, and the service that was done to it (which I have receipts for): the fuel pump was replaced around 176.000 miles. I replaced the spark plugs and air filter with a K&N filter at 185,000 miles and the timing belt, water pump, cabin filter, thermostat were all replaced at 200,000 miles, $2,600 worth of service. The brakes were just replaced at 204,000 miles with upgraded rotors and new pads, also the brake fluid was flushed front to back with new fluid.  The oil changes have come every 5,000 miles with full synthetic motor oil.  If the car goes over 205,000 before its sold it will have a fresh oil change.

There are a  few cosmetic blemishes on the car due mostly to wear and tear from previous owner.  It is mechanically sound and drives great.  I'm saddened that I have to sell it but I know who ever gets it will enjoy it.  I have had a few Audi's and they are solid performers, do not let the miles fool you and make you miss out on a great deal.  This model has ALL the options, it has the cold weather package with heated seats both front AND rear and they all work very well, there is nothing better than a toasty tush on a cold morning.  The moon roof is a nice feature, and all the window shades are in good working order.  All three cup holders are there and are in perfect working order.  All buttons on the electric seats work, and the lumbar support is a nice feature to have for longer trips. I have two sets of keys that both work.

This is a great car for any family.  It seats three comfortably in the back seat - that is even with two car seats.  And its not a minivan, that is how I sold the idea to my wife.

This car works wonderfully in the snow too.  The Quattro system inspires confidence, it is quite sprightly in any environment and handles very well, the new brakes bite hard and were slightly surprising after they were installed on the amount of additional performance.

The cars AC is ice cold and the heater takes less than a half mile to get warm when moving and under 10 minuets when warming up.  The heated seats are warm before I leave my block (less than 1/8th of a mile).

The car has been garage kept and adult owned and all major service was performed by a certified Audi mechanic that I have used for years on both Audis and Volkswagens.

If you have any questions about the vehicle please email me and I will get you the answer if I know it. Email for more pictures if needed.

The car is for sale locally, if it sells it will be removed.

Audi, Jag, Kia and Tesla top Strategic Vision 2014 Total Quality Index

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

A couple weeks ago, J.D. Power released its latest Initial Quality Study, which gave high marks to Porsche, Hyundai and General Motors, with the latter earning more individual IQS awards than any other manufacturer. Now, it's Strategic Vision's turn, and it's doling out its praise not to Porsche, but to Tesla, which wasn't even included in the JD Power IQS.
The Model S was named the best vehicle overall in total quality, while Porsche's corporate brother and endurance-racing rival, Audi, was named the best premium brand, alongside Jaguar. Strategic Vision cited the Q5 and the ancient Q7 for individual segment awards, as well as the A5, which was a mere point off the top of its segment. SV also handed out compliments for the Audi's interior work. The win for the German brand is a nice improvement over its IQS score, with which it landed above the industry average, but solidly mid-pack.
Jaguar was without a segment winner, although SV did say that the Indian-owned English brand had a number of vehicles very near the top of their segments. This is the second significant win for Jag in two weeks, after it finished second overall on the JD Power IQS a few weeks ago.

An Outback for architects | 2017 Audi A4 Allroad First Drive

Mon, Oct 24 2016

There are crossovers – big SUV-like things that give people the commanding view of the road they crave so much – and then there are crossovers. Lifted wagons in the vein of the Subaru Outback are arguably the crossover archetype, but they've become the exception, not the rule. That's where the Audi A4 Allroad fits in. Like its predecessor, the 2017 Allroad is a rather good-looking alternative to a mid-size SUV. The A4 Allroad is again based on the lovely A4 Avant, a wagon that isn't sold in America. The Allroad has a slightly raised suspension compared to its overseas counterpart, slightly higher-profile rubber, standard two-tone paint, roof rails, fender flares, lower body cladding, and a grille with vertical slats to emphasize the rugged point. And for reasons that no automotive purist has ever been able to derive, the look totally works. You can have a two-tone Allroad in one of 13 colors with gray trim along the bottom and the fenders. Or, pay an extra $1,000 on top of the cost of metallic paint and you can opt for one of five monochrome color schemes. In either case, you'll get a handsome, aggressive front end; 18-inch five-spoke wheels; standard Xenon or optional LED lighting up front; and LED lighting in the rear. The rear blinkers have a standard swiping effect borrowed from the R8, and the same sequential motion is applied to the front turn signals on models with the optional all-LED headlights. It's a party trick, but a neat one . We'd be hard pressed to think of an interior that Audi has screwed up recently, and the latest A4 has a particularly good one that translates well to the Allroad. No matter the trim you choose, you'll get your choice of dyed leather, including the requisite brown to best showcase the Allroad's rugged intentions. The level of gadgetry and pricing rises as you work your way up the trim tree – from Premium, to Premium Plus to Prestige, with the sweet spot in the middle – and it more or less mirrors that of the A4. Opting for the Technology Package on Premium Plus models gets you Audi's Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, a fully configurable gauge package that sets the standard for info display in the industry. (It is so choice. If you have the means, we highly recommend picking one – er, it – up.) Here, the optional advanced dash is paired with an 8.3-inch center display, which is equally intuitive and responsive.

Audi TT Quattro Sport Concept takes the next-gen to the extreme

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

There's little doubt that the new Audi TTS and its 310-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder will be very quick when released to the general public. As a means of reminding us that Audi can do much more with the little TT, though, the German manufacturer has presented this, the TT Quattro Sport Concept, alongside its litter of new sports cars.
Complete with a 420-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged engine - yes, it really puts out 210 horsepower per liter - the TT Quattro Sport can snap to 62 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds. 331 pound-feet of torque is also on offer, meaning this one-off TT outguns the TTS by 110 horsepower and 51 pound-feet of torque.
An S-Tronic transmission shuffles the power about, while the car itself rides on a lowered and stiffened suspension. 20-inch alloys are featured with centrally locking, racing-style hubs. Those racy wheels are housed in wells that have had their arches stretched an additional 1.18 inches, which, along with the lowered suspension, contribute to the TT's aggressive looks.
