Very nice and well maintained Audi A6 Quattro with a very spirited 4.2 V-8.  There are four small body issues that I know of and have tried to highlight in the photos.  There is a small dimple in the hood which I believe was the result of a falling acorn.  Offending Oak Tree is visible in the photo.  There is a small ding in the passenger side rear door, a scrape in the upper part of the drivers side rear fender well and a small crack in the plastic towards the bottom of the front bumper on the driver's side.  Over-all the car is in very good condition with the leather seats in superb condition and the carpet is excellent. I live in New York City but  the vehicle is located in Des Moines, Iowa and was primarily  driven by my late sister who was not really able to drive much.  It has been garaged for several months and is a little dusty on the inside but I will have that taken care of before the sale.   I only travel back and forth several times a year and it does not make much sense to let it sit there.  I replaced the battery when I was there in October to insure that there would be no problems with it starting after a period of inactivity.  The tires were new at 79,000 miles there is a Sunroof and a Boze sound system.  I am the second owner and have owned it since 2005 I believe.  It is a little foggy to me right now.  a title search may show one additional owner, I am not sure but that was a nephew who took the delivery and signed for it and it was in his name temporarily until I arrived to change the title. There are also a couple of lights that I do not even know to which function they refer that are out in the center of the dash that are out.  I do not believe that they are anything critical as I had the vehicle serviced in September and no mention was made of them.  Please keep in mind that I will be traveling back at the time of the sale from New York just for this purpose so allow me a couple of days to work out the details.  I would also like to ask that if you are interested contact me before bidding with questions.  While I have driven the car, and it runs great I did not drive it often enough to completely remember all of the features that it has.  The last time that I was there I could not remember how to turn on the fan to the heater for the first few minutes that I was in the car.  The V8 engine in this Audi has a lot of power.  My sister picked this out and it was a lot more car than she ever needed as she was barely able to walk to it.  But for anyone who wants that extra something when accelerating you will certainly have it available to you.

Audi RS5 test drive ends with potential buyer stealing car

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Two men are wanted in the Houston area tonight after they stole an Audi RS5 from a local dealership. The brazen theft happened in the middle of the business day, when a salesperson stepped away after letting one of the men take the car for a test drive, while the other sat in the (getaway) car. He then swiped the keys and his license before running out to the lot and taking off in the 450-horsepower coupe.
The men drove to the dealership in an plate-less, white Range Rover Sport, and fed the salesperson a fake phone number - it ironically led to a collections firm - along with what is probably a fake name and a fake background, although the dealership does have both men on video. The dealer, Audi West Houston, is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the Audi and the crooks that stole it. Scroll down for the full news report from Houston's CBS-affiliate KHOU 11.

Watch Audi R8 give Birth to RS3

Fri, May 1 2015

In the cold light of reality, it's a fairly dubious proposition to suggest that the Audi RS3 Sportback shares much of a mechanical relationship with an R8. One of them is supercar with a snorting V10 and lithe body, while the other is a still-capable hot hatch with roots lower in the brand's range. However, marketing doesn't necessarily have to sell real life, and Audi's advertisers are nailing the emotional pull of these two models in a spot called Birth. With dramatic music and a sci-fi aesthetic, the R8's V10 roars as the supercar stretches and deforms, and eventually the hot hatch gets plucked from its metallic loins. Regardless of how closely these two models are related, this commercial looks and sounds fantastic. With the US rumored to get the RS3 in sedan form at some point, hopefully we get a tweaked version of this ad.

'Rich Kid of Instagram' victim of supercar arsonists

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

A 19-year-old in the UK is smarting after the possibility that his prolific social media use may be at the heart of four family-owned supercars going up in flames in barely a week. Aleem Iqbal has thousands of followers on Twitter and Instagram paying attention to his frequent posts about the high-priced cars he's driving. He's even been featured on the Tumblr page Rich Kids of Instagram. It appears that some people might not be so smitten with him, though.
According to his Twitter profile, Iqbal owns Platinum Executive Travel, a luxury car rental company in the England, and UK newspaper The Telegraph claims the company is also owned by Iqbal's father. On June 6, cameras caught three hooded men setting fire to a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster leased by the company for a wedding. A few days later, two Audi R8 Spyders and a Bentley Continental Flying Spur from Platinum also got the torch, and two men were caught on camera setting the blaze. Nobody was hurt in either of the attacks, and the Aventador appeared to be repairable with the fire causing most damage to the passenger seat and dashboard. Police are still investigating both of the crimes.
According to The Telegraph, Iqbal believes that the arsons could have stemmed from jealousy towards him and his family's business. Regardless, setting fire to a bunch of cars that are likely insured isn't a great way to show displeasure.
