2005 Audi A4 Cabriolet Convertible 90k Automatic 2.0 No Reserve Nr on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
You are bidding on a no reserve auction for a 2005 Audi A4 Convertible. This car is gray exterior with a gray leather interior. This is a no reserve auction which means the high bidder gets it even if it is only $1! I have had the car since 2010 and I think I was the 3rd owner. This car was garaged the whole time I had it. This car has been my daily driver, but I really don't drive much and have only put 7K miles a year on it since I bought it. In 2011 at 72,000 miles I had the oil sludge problem that is common to this model and had to replace the engine with a used one that had about 20,000 miles less than the one in the car so the mileage on the new engine is actually less than the mileage on the car. I believe in full disclosure and try to disclose every defect when I sell my cars so the buyer knows exactly what they are bidding on. This is the 4th personal vehicle I have sold on ebay and I have 100% positive feedback. This is a 2005 car so there is the normal wear and tear on the interior and exterior. I just had the car detailed and it looks great though! There is some flaking plastic on the headlight switch and the A/C module. I noticed a door ding on the passenger side door when I was going over it and there may be some smallish scratches as you might expect of a car of this age. There are some scuffs on some of the wheels (see in pics below). The center armrest opens further than it should but it worked fine so I didn't replace it (see in pics below). I had some damage from a towing company on the front air dam and had it replaced along with one of the radiator fans under an insurance claim back in July of 2013. I also backed into a pole in a parking garage so had to replace the rear bumper cover and tail light. When they replaced the bumper cover, they told me that the rear quarter panel on the driver's side was pushed in as well. I didn't want to replace the quarter panel though so it is a little pushed in right near the rear tail light on the driver's side (see in pics below). You can see a small gap in the rear window of the convertible top so it may need to be reglued or replaced at some point (see in pics below). I haven't noticed it leaking though so it can probably wait for a while. I have noticed a vibration in the car when I am accelerating from 40-60 so I think the motor mounts might need to be replaced at some point which is common on a car of this milage. There is something wrong with the convertible top storage compartment in the trunk. It doesn't effect the operation of the top in any way. There is a lever that you can turn to increase the storage space in the trunk when the top is up and that is where the problem is. You can still push it up by hand to use the extra trunk space, but the lever doesn't operate as it should (see in pics below where it is cracked). The hood release lever under the dash broke as well but you can still open it so I haven't replaced it. I replaced the rotors and brake pads and the alternator in May of 2012. I know there are a lot of pics and I'm sorry if it takes a while to download them, but I like to give as many as I can. I'm selling the car because I am moving out of Florida and don't need a car any more. The car must be picked up and paid for within 3 days of the auction end because I will be leaving Miami as soon as the car is sold.
This is the pushed in rear quarter panel. This is the little gap around the rear window on the soft top. Scuffs on the wheels Flaking on the A/C control module "-" button. Front tire wear. The center armrest The broken hood release lever |

Pre-Race notes from the 2015 Nurburgring 24-Hours
Sat, May 16 2015Autoblog has come to the German countryside to watch the Nurburgring 24-Hour race, and just one day in, we have to say it's outstanding. Le Mans has been the highlight of our summer racing schedule for the past few years, the 'Ring 24-Hour event being the appetizer we always skipped. Earlier this year, however, while visiting Miami to check out the Cigarette Racing 50 Marauder GT S, we met Scott Preacher. He oversees digital marketing for both Cigarette and AMG during the week, then comes to Germany to compete in the VLN race series on the weekends, driving an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Team Mathol. If Le Mans is the Oscars of endurance racing, the Nurburgring 24-Hour race is the Screen Actors Guild award – the one voted on by the actors, for the actors. In this case it's the race by the teams and fans, for the teams and fans, even though the increasing manufacturer presence has altered the team equation. We were told that it wasn't so long ago that true privateers could win the overall, but that's not really the case anymore. Front-running teams have heavy factory involvement – Audi Sport Team Phoenix, for instance, which finished in first and third last year, has its own 'Ring race center and is running the 2016 R8; Aston Martin is represented by Aston Martin Racing and Aston Martin Test Center, and Bentley has a Bentley Motors team and uses HPT to run another team. The fan component hasn't changed, though, and you can't talk about the race for more than 60 seconds before someone brings up the battalions of spectators. Every driver we spoke to cited them as the most incredible part of this race after the track itself. It feels to us like a giant German Sebring, with thousands of people camped out in the ginormous, forested infield, many of whom have been here since Monday erecting their ornate camping compounds. There will be parties everywhere Saturday night, and so much bratwurst on the grill that the drivers can smell it when as they're blasting full speed through Wehrseifen. Even when we drove a Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe on a lap before the race, the fans waved like it was a competition. Scott Preacher's Australian co-driver Robert Thompson said, "You come around a corner and it's like you're driving full speed through the middle of a carnival." The race field itself could also be called a carnival, with an officially invited field of more than 170 cars. Even on a track that's 24.4-km long, that's like racing on the 405 at midday.
Audi service tech joyrides customer car, allegedly takes drugs on the way [UPDATE]
Fri, Apr 15 2016UPDATE: We've received and added an official statement from Audi Palo Alto. Dealerships get a bad rap. Stories about sleazy salespeople and overpriced service procedures abound, even though the reality is that most dealers are run by and employ honest, fair folks. But just because the bulk of dealers and their employees are good people, it doesn't mean some bad eggs won't slip through the cracks. Audi Palo Alto, in the heart of Silicon Valley, is finding this out the hard way after dash cam video of a service tech abusing a customer's car started blowing up on YouTube. In the video, which you can watch above, the unnamed service tech took YouTube user Carrera Chris's Audi – it's not clear what model, but it sounds like one of the company's higher-performance 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 models – for a rather spirited test drive. There are plenty of wide-open-throttle runs mixed in with some speeding – the dash cam's lower display shows 90 miles per hour at one point on the freeway – and you can hear the driver laughing throughout. None of this is too remarkable on its own, and maybe not enough to get the tech fired. Until, that is, he pulls into a parking lot and begins snorting something. The dash cam doesn't show the technician, so it's impossible to determine what substance – if any – the driver is allegedly taking. It could be coke, could be crushed up pills, or, hey, it could be a prescription nasal spray (it is allergy season, even in perpetually lovely northern California). Carrera Chris does say he found white powder in the seams of the driver's seat, so take that for what it's worth. There are five videos that include 12 minutes of footage – the one up top is a summary, while the four below show the alleged drug use and some more mundane footage. We've reached out to Audi Palo Alto's general manager, Jason Mattia. He wouldn't answer our questions over the phone, but did forward an official statement from the dealer. An unfortunate incident was brought to our attention earlier this week. We immediately began our investigation and have already taken action. We are working with the customer involved and have thanked them for bringing this matter to our attention. At Audi Palo Alto, we are proud to be a part of the San Jose community. We value and respect our customers, and our team of 75 employees strives to deliver the highest level of customer service.
