1998 Audi A4 Avant (wagon) Quattro 2.8l V6 W/low Miles (120k) on 2040-cars
Boone, North Carolina, United States
1998 Audi A4 Avant (Wagon) Quattro 2.8L V6 w/Low Miles (120K) For sale is a silver Audi wagon with low miles and a clean title. Great commuter or family car. All-wheel drive means that it handles very well in the snow. No rust issues. This vehicle comes equipped with the following options: * Automatic Transmission * All Wheel ABS and All-Wheel Drive (Quattro) * Alloy Wheels * Tinted Windows * Leather Heated Seats * 6-Disc Bose Premium Sound System * Power windows and seats * Roof Rack * A/C is cold * Non-smoker vehicle (Recently replaced front tires, rotors, brake calipers, and brake pads.) Vehicle is in good working order but does have the following issues: Sunroof frame damaged (motor works, but sunroof will not open); Tiptronic feature not functioning; needs new rear tires; LCD display for cabin temperature is difficult to read; passenger door molding missing; exhaust hanger noisy; may need new wheel bearings. Overall, this has been a very reliable car for our family the past 4 years. It was purchased in 2009 on Ebay Motors and used to commute 3 miles to and from campus, as well as drive around the town of Boone, NC. We're selling because we're relocating to the UK and cannot take the car with us. :( On Jun-12-14 at 08:21:43 PDT, seller added the following information: *** UPDATED DESCRIPTION: We have replaced the wheel bearing and rear tires. On Jun-13-14 at 06:55:42 PDT, seller added the following information: A few people have asked about the car's service history and rather than post responses to each individual question, I thought I'd respond more generally. The car had two prior owners in Maryland before I bought it on Ebay Motors in 2009 (at 99,425 miles). Records show that the car was regularly serviced at an authorized Audi Dealer (e.g., at 25K, 30K, and 40K miles), as well as had regular oil changes every 6 months. There is no evidence that the car ever suffered from any major mechanical or electrical problems, and it was never damaged in an accident. During the 5 years that I have owned the car, I have only had to repair the rear wheel bearings, front rotors, and windshield wiper motor, in addition to some minor things like replacing the tires, brake pads, battery, and a few vacuum hoses (I went ahead and replaced the front brake calipers simply because I was already replacing the rotors and brakes). Of course, I change the oil regularly and have had it looked at by a mechanic specializing in German automobiles. The engine starts easily (even in cold, snowy weather), and the engine runs very smoothly. As far as I can tell, the car does not burn any oil or have any major leaks. The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears. There are no known electrical problems with the car--for example, the 'Check Engine' light is NOT on, and it does not return any error codes. The power windows and doors are operational (the seats are mechanical). The heated seats work well, as does the heater/defrost system. The Air Conditioner produces very cold air, reducing the internal temperature quickly. The stereo is really nice, and it produces crisp highs and deep bass when desired. The interior leather is in good shape, except for a small place in the driver's seat seam. In short, the car is in very good condition for its age. Overall, this Audi has been the most reliable and lowest maintenance car that I have ever owned (from about a dozen used cars over the past 20 years). If the car doesn't sell on Ebay before we move to the UK next month, I probably will just keep it and drive it out to stay with family in California because it has been such a great vehicle. Happy bidding and let me know if you have any other questions. |

2018 Audi A5 and S5 Sportbacks are coming to America
Wed, Nov 16 2016Fans of hatchbacks have cause for celebration, because Audi confirmed the 2018 A5 and S5 Sportback models are coming to the US. The five-door variant of the classy A5 coupe and convertible line will appear in America this spring. Pricing was not announced. While we will be getting the hatchback, we won't get every powertrain option offered in Europe. Those versions will be offered with an array of gas and diesel engines, and some will be available with a manual transmission. We'll only get two engines here, and they both come with automatics. The standard A5 Sportback will come with the same turbocharged four-cylinder as the A5 coupe and convertible and the A4 sedan. It makes 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque of torque and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The S5 Sportback gets the same 354-horsepower turbocharged V6, which also makes 369 lb-ft of torque and sends power through a conventional 8-speed automatic. Both Sportback models are nearly as fast as their two-door siblings, reaching 60 mph in 5.7 and 4.5 seconds respectively. That's just a tenth of a second slower than either coupe. The Sportback also has one more difference compared with the European version. All American A5 Sportback models will come with Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive. The Sportbacks feature similar interiors to their coupe and convertible brethren, along with the same infotainment options. This includes the available Virtual Cockpit LCD instrument panel and MMI system. Of course the biggest difference between the Sportback and the two-door models is space. Audi claims the Sportback has twice as much cargo room as the coupe. And the back seat will obviously be much more comfortable and usable. View 14 Photos You don't sacrifice too much in style, either. The A5 coupe's distinctive, Coke-bottle character line has made the transition to a longer profile gracefully, and it's complemented by the greenhouse inspired by the bigger A7 Sportback. So if you've always wanted an A5 for its looks, but felt you needed something more practical, you won't have to compromise with the Sportback. Related Video:
VW and Audi recall Tiguan and Q5 to replace Takata inflators
Sat, Feb 6 2016The Basics: Volkswagen and Audi will recall 734 examples of the 2015 Tiguan with production dates between January 15, 2015, and January 21, 2015, and the 2015 Q5 built between January 13, 2015, and February 3, 2015. The Problem: The vehicles have driver and passenger seat side airbag inflators from Takata that could rupture in a crash. Injuries/Deaths: A side airbag ruptured in a 2015 Tiguan in June 2015, and the driver sustained slight injuries under the left arm. The person didn't need to seek medical attention, Audi spokesperson Mark Clothier told Autoblog. This is the only reported injury. The Fix: VW and Audi dealers will replace the side airbag modules. If You Own One: VW and Audi will advise owners about the recall but don't yet know specifically when repairs begin. Average new-vehicle transaction price hits a whopping new peak in December
Wed, Jan 11 2023Elevated prices for products and higher borrowing rates led to record high transaction prices for new vehicles in December, with the average cost in the U.S. rising to a record $49,507, according to data from Kelley Blue Book released today. The report notes that ATPs — average transaction prices — have climbed above suggested retail prices — MSRPs — for more than a year. Sales volumes were up in December on a year-over-year basis by more than 5%, a situation Kelley attributed to improved supply. Overall sales for 2022, however, were off 8% year over year. “The transaction data from December clearly indicates overall prices showed no signs of coming down as we headed into year-end,” said Rebecca Rydzewski, research manager of economic and industry insights for Cox Automotive. “Luxury prices fell slightly in December, but non-luxury transaction prices were up. Truck sales were particularly strong last month, and with many trucks selling for more than $60,000, a new record was all but inevitable.” Industry analysts claim the most obvious headwinds in the new car market are generated by higher interest rates, forced by the Federal Reserve's rate hikes intended to tame inflation, and by generally limited inventory. A recent report from J.D. Power showed that the average monthly payment for a new vehicle loan in December was $718, up $47 from a year ago. But 16% of consumers in December took out loans with monthly payments of over $1,000. Consumers think vehicles, and electric vehicles especially, are way too expensive. Fortunately, manufacturersÂ’ incentives, all but extinct in the past two years, are returning, especially in the electric-vehicle and luxury market, the Kelley data suggest. Plus, "With the new tax credits on the way, electric vehicle ATPs will drop lower for qualifying vehicles,” Rydzewski said. Non-luxury brands, such as Honda and Kia, showed particularly strong performance in December, with the average price paid at $45,578 — a record high and an increase of $994 month over month. Meanwhile, the average luxury buyer paid $66,660 for a new vehicle last month. Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover showed the most price strength in the luxury market, transacting between 2.6% to 6.5% over sticker price. But luxury brands Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln, and Volvo showed the least price strength with some discounting in effect, selling 1% or more below MSRP in December, according to the survey.
