For consideration is a very clean 2001 Audi TT Quattro. My son brought this home from Nevada where he was stationed when he was in the Air Force last year and the car has been in my garage ever since. He needs the money so, the car will be sold without a reserve. The Kelly Blue Book price can be found here: http://www.kbb.com/audi/tt/2001-audi-tt/quattro-roadster-2d/?pricetype=private-party&vehicleid=3782&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=101000&category=convertible&options=144949%7ctrue%7c144956%7ctrue%7c145013%7ctrue%7c145030%7ctrue%7c145029%7ctrue#survey. As you can see, our starting price is for a car in just fair condition. This car is in good to very good condition which and the value is far more than the starting price. While the car was in Nevada, it passed the emission test every year and was meticulously maintained. The items that typically need to be changed at around 90,000 miles have all been replaced to include: the timing belt, the belt tensioner, the water pump, the alternator, the battery, the brakes and more. The tires are at 80% and there is about 100 miles on a tuneup. This car can drive anywhere anytime and do it quickly in style!
The options that the car has includes:
- 1.8L twin turbo engine with 225 HP (AMU)
- 6-speed manual transmission
- All Wheel Drive with Stability Control (ESP)
- 4-Wheel Anti Lock Brakes
- Dual Exhaust
- HID Xenon Headlights
- Heated bucket seats and heated mirrors
- Power windows, mirrors, steering, brakes and locks
- Rear window defrost
- Rollover protection system
- Bose AM/FM 120 Watt Premium Sound System with 6-disc Changer and 7 speakers
- 5-spoke Audi Premium Rims
- Cruise Control
- Air Conditioning
- Rear Glass Wind Deflector
- Owners and Service Manuals Included
This car does have a few minor nicks and dents here and there (approximately 5) that most people don't notice and most could not even be photographed. Like I stated earlier, this car was very well taken care of! Because of its age, there is no warranty offered for the car so I highly recommend coming out and talking a look at it. Also, shipping or delivery will be the responsibility of the person buying the car (the purchaser).
Finally, a $1000 non-refundable deposit will be due within 48 hours at the completion of the auction.

Audi creates new diesel fuel from carbon dioxide and water
Mon, Apr 27 2015What if you could power cars of the future with pollution created by the cars of the past? That's what German automaker Audi is hoping to achieve by creating a new synthetic fuel using renewable energy to turn water and carbon dioxide gas into a new kind of fuel they call "e-diesel." The new diesel is being produced at Audi's pilot plant Sunfire in Dresden, Germany. Only a few gallons were created, which the German Federal Minister of Education and Research Johanna Wanka put into her Audi A8 to prove the fuel's bonafides. The base fuel is known as "blue crude" and begins from a green source. Audi uses electricity from wind, water or solar power sources to separate hydrogen from oxygen in water. The hydrogen is then mixed with carbon dioxide which has been converted in carbon oxide. The blue crude is then further refined to create the e-diesel. The carbon dioxide is currently supplied by a biogas facilities, but some of that CO2 was captured from the air. "The engine runs quieter and fewer pollutants are being created," says Sunfire CTO Christian von Olshausen. The fuel can be combined with conventional diesel fuel, as biodiesel fuels already and would be competitively priced against regular diesel, according to Gizmag. Sunfire can produce about 42 gallons of e-diesel a day. That seems like barely a drop in the bucket in terms of Europe's energy use, but Audi is ready to commercialize the technology with plans to expand production with a bigger facility in the future.
2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport bridges the gap to S8
Mon, Oct 26 2015Want to get your hands on an Audi S8, but can't quite make the stretch? You may be interested, then, in the newest addition to the A8 family. Because it just may be the next best thing. As the moniker suggests, the 2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport packs a similar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to the one in the S8 (and the Bentley Continental GT for that matter). But instead of 520 horsepower, it's tuned to produce a somewhat more modest 450. That's also less than the 500 hp offered in the W12 model, but then the V8 engine is a fair bit lighter, and it produces 15 more horses than the previous 4.0T model. Along with the upgraded engine comes a sportier look, with larger air intakes at the front, more sculpted side sills, and 20-inch (or available 21-inch) alloys. It also comes standard with the Executive and Luxury packages, complimented by diamond-quilt stitching, and a headliner upholstered in Alcantara with a panoramic sunroof. Of course, it's also priced a fair bit lower than the aforementioned more powerful versions: $90,500 (plus $925 destination) is a relative bargain compared to the $114,900 commanded by the S8 and $137,900 for the A8 L W12. Audi has yet to release performance figures, but we'd expect it to drop a tenth or so off the 4.4-second 0-60 sprint achieved by the previous, 435-hp model. Those looking for more power than the S8, not less, may still hold out hope for the S8 Plus with its 605 hp to make its way to US showrooms. The variant of the Audi A8 flagship sedan boasts an enhanced 4.0T twin turbo V8 engine achieving an impressive 450 hp, an increase of 15 hp from the previous 4.0T model. The Sport model also includes a muscular front fascia with larger air intakes for a more commanding presence on the road. The bumper of the A8 L 4.0T Sport has been lowered for a more performance-oriented look and the sides of the sedan have been given more prominent rocker panels to give the vehicle a wider stance.
The pre-race and first in-race report from Le Mans
Sat, 22 Jun 2013The 2013, 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has begun, tragedy marking the opening laps with the death of Allan Simonsen. We're at the track now as a guest of Audi and plan to stay through the evening, and even we haven't been able to find out what caused the accident - the only video is from just after the incident, and beyond the statement from ACO there's been no more news. The Aston Martin in the LM GTE Am class and its all-Danish drivers had taken pole in its class and was one of the favorites to win.
The pre-race report will come first, and even thought we can't spoil the race because we're only five hours into it at the time of writing, we'll put all of the news at the end in case you don't even want the updates.
Or you can go straight to the high-res galleries above.
