2009 Audi TT Quattro 3.2L 6-speed for sale by original owner.   Car was purchased new at Sewickley, PA Audi in June, 2009 and I have driven virtually all of the miles on it.   This TT is equipped with the rare VR-6 engine and manual 6-speed transmission which were no longer offered by Audi starting with the 2010 model year on TT's.  I am a FAA-certified aircraft mechanic and Porsche Club of America High Performance Driving Instructor ~ I mention this so as to give you some idea of how this machine has been cared for and driven since new.   It has never been abused mechanically but certainly it has been driven with gusto as it should be.   I believe the photos do a credible job of showing that the car is about as close to "as new" condition a 5-year-old vehicle can be.   The car has always been a faithful and enthusiastic road companion and has had only one issue that required dealer service: a knock sensor failed and triggered the CEL; this was replaced under warranty.   The car has received annual oil changes with Mobil 1 and a Mahle filter.   There are absolutely no issues with the car whatsoever: all equipment and accessories work as new.   The OEM equipment is as follows:

  • Prestige Package:
Audi navigation system
6-disk cd changer
Interior led lighting
Audi rear parking system
Power seats
4-way power lumbar adjustment
Xenon-plus headlights
Daytime running lights
Lights styling package
Bluetooth phone preparation
Homelink
Auto-dimming interior mirror w/compass
Rain sensing wipers
Added interior leather including armrest
Prestige storage package

  • S-line Sport Package:
19-inch "RS4-style" wheels
Black fine nappa leather s-line seats
Black leather elements
S-line bumpers
S-line steering wheel
Headlight washers
Short-throw shifter
  • Magnetic ride suspension
  • Heated front seats

In addition, the following equipment has been installed in the car and/or would be included in the sale:

  • Milltek cat-back exhaust and muffler (OEM available if you'd want it but I don't think you do)
  • Neuspeed cold-air intake (OEM available if you'd want it)
  • Michelin Super Sport tires mounted on OEM wheels (those shown in the pictures)
  • ECS slotted brake rotors and Hawk HPS brake pads
  • Set of four 18" OZ "Opera" wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 winter tires for winter use
  • Two OEM car covers
  • New OEM carpet mats
  • OEM rubber winter mats
  • OEM rubber rear trunk mat and cargo net
  • 3M protection film applied to bumper, hood and headlights when car was new
  • Pennsylvania State Inspection due June, 2015
  • Laminated window sticker
Car is presently in the showroom of C&G Performance, Inc. in Sewickley, PA (near Pittsburgh.)   My work provides me with some no-cost air travel options and I might consider personally delivering the car to the right buyer a reasonable distance from Pittsburgh.   This car has been a joy to drive (especially in foul weather) and I'm very confident that it will provide many more years of stylish and potent performance for a driver who is looking to stand out from those relegated to more pedestrian vehicles.

KBB.com values the car at (very good) $28,525 and (excellent) $29,161; please keep these numbers in mind when you are bidding.   I would expect a $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction closing; logistics of the balance of payment and delivery/shipment of the car to be worked out to our mutual satisfaction soon thereafter.   Please email me with any/all questions that you may have about the vehicle.   I hope to hear from you and that the TT finds a good home to a driver who can appreciate it and the fine driving experience that it provides.   Good luck,  David

2015 Audi A3 configurator is up and running

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Potential customers for the new Audi A3 should set aside some time during their lunch breaks to head over and build their ideal example of the new sedan. The official configurator, complete with pricing and options, has gone live on the Audi website.
Customers can choose from three trim levels (Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige), while each trim can be had with either the Volkswagen Group's familiar 2.0-liter, turbocharged, 220-horsepower four-cylinder or a 1.8-liter, turbocharged, 170-horsepower four-cylinder. Buyers of the 2.0-liter will enjoy Quattro all-wheel drive while power for the 1.8T is channeled through the front wheels only. A six-speed, S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission is standard across the range.
You can check out full pricing on the A3 right here, but as a means of recap, the base Premium trim with the 1.8-liter engine starts at $29,900. A Premium Plus 1.8T starts $32,800 and the Prestige 1.8T will cost $38,700. Adding a 2.0-liter turbo and Quattro increases the price by $3,000, regardless of trim. Those prices don't include an $895 destination charge.

The 2018 Audi SQ5 looks mean and switches to turbo power

Tue, Jan 10 2017

Audi's huge Q8 wasn't the only crossover introduced by the German automaker at this year's Detroit Auto Show. Right alongside it came the 2018 SQ5, the brand's high-performance midsize crossover. This newest version ditches the previous generation's supercharger in favor of a turbo for its 3.0-liter V6. The powertrain is similar to the one used in the latest S4 and S5. Horsepower remains unchanged compared to the last SQ5 at 354, but torque sees a healthy increase to 369 pound-feet, and it's available anywhere from 1,370 to 4,500 rpm. The car itself weighs about 77 pounds less, too. It's a combination that should make the SQ5 pretty entertaining off the line. Coupled to the turbo engine is an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. Power delivery and handling can be enhanced with a Quattro sport rear differential that can shuffle power left and right to aid cornering. Audi says the torque vectoring system can send almost all rearward power to one wheel as necessary. The differential is available as part of the S sport package, which comes with other upgrades including air suspension. The suspension gives the crossover a lower ride height by default. Both height and firmness can be adjusted, and it offers an "offroad" position that raises the car for maximum ground clearance. Inside, the SQ5 comes with a sportier interior than its Q5 counterpart. It comes with prerequisites such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel and more-bolstered seats. Audi also provides a Bang & Olufsen sound system and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin experience can be further augmented with Audi's Virtual Cockpit LCD instrument panel, as well as driving assists such as a variable-ratio steering rack and adaptive cruise control that can handle stop-and-go traffic from 0 to 40 mph. Audi will begin selling the new 2018 SQ5 here in spring of 2017. Pricing for it and the Q5 has not yet been released. Related Video:

2016 Audi TTS

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

We recently drove the Audi TT, and although we wish it were radically entertaining instead of merely very fun, it's nevertheless a sharp coupe that vaults ahead of its predecessor with an inspired interior and eager handling. That car will be precursor to this TTS when it gets here a year from now, with the TTS adding adjectives like "more" and "better" to just about everything found on the base coupe. With the standard car having already put on such a fine edge, we wheeled the TTS on Spanish roads and at the Ascari race track to find out how much better and higher-performing the S will be.
Driving Notes
As of this writing, today's TTS commands an $8,350 premium over the TT. Assuming a commensurate gap is carried over into this next generation model, that supplemental dosh will get you 310 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque instead of 230 hp and 273 lb-ft in the standard TT. That would mean more for your money, too, since the gap between the current TT and TTS is 54 hp and zero lb-ft of torque. To achieve the new numbers, the 2.0 TSFI engine from the TTS benefits from upgrades like sturdier valves, revised aluminum pistons and stronger connecting rods with new bearings, a reinforced crankshaft and a high-performance intercooler. The amplified brawn rips 0.7 seconds off the 0-60 mile-per-hour time, getting you there in 4.6 seconds.
