2004 Audi TT Quattro, Papaya Orange, Coupe, 1.8, 6 speed Manual
- Owners Manual off EBAY a few years back (did not come with one), which is included.
- Service Manual last year, Hard Cover, which is included.
- Radio Removal Tools, which is included.
- The front chin spoiler has a crack, which is how I got it back in 2009. (I have been looking for a new chin spoiler to replace it, but was at the bottom of my list).
- above the windshield where it meets the roof
- Drivers Door where the latch is.
- on the front bumper & hood(I suppose it had been down several gravel roads before I owned it)
- has a lot of little paint (surface) cracks in the nooks and crannies ( was this way when purchased, no idea why they occurred)
- The PPI rear bumper is missing the two pocket "fin" inserts based on the photos I have seen of them on line.
- In place of these inserts are mesh screen with a black plastic backing, now painted black. It was this way when I purchased it.
- Many online forums have mentioned a huge concern with TT's having instrument cluster problems/ failures, this one has a few things/ quirks with it. I am not replacing it, as everything "works".
- Fuel Gauge: It works, as does the yellow warning icon on the Multifunction display, and audible "beep" when you get low on gas, however the Analog Dial only "travels" from past full to 1/2 a tank.
- (I asked if I could replace just this gauge, but you have to change the entire panel). As I said it works just a bit quirky.
- The Med-Kit compartment door latch broke off when my 6 year old son (then 4) found it. I have not been worried about it so I left it.
- The Med-Kit is there and complete.
- As I mentioned above I had to purchase a Cargo Cover Lid, as it was not with the car when I bought it.
- I just bought a TT Jack
- I cannot find a Used JACK COVER. It was not on the car when I got it.
- I am not sure if the foam tray around the spare tire is complete... not sure.
- Rear Lid Light Assembly Housing cracked but functional. I have not ordered the part.
- it has a small vibration, and I am not sure why, as it "slews" in all directions with the electronic control in the drivers door. The passenger mirror is fine.
- For reasons unknown to me some of my CD's can't load/ cue up from the six magazine cd holder at certain times. I have loaded up 6 CD's and had no problems, but others don't feed. ( no idea)?!!!
- Small worn spot where the heel would rest on the ma

Next-gen Audi R8 E-Tron could have 280-mile range
Fri, Feb 27 2015Will the next hypermiling contest take place between the latest iteration of the Audi R8 E-Tron and a Tesla Model S. On paper, the single-charge range between the high- and higher-end EVs are nearly identical, so it's possible. But what fun would that be, using light pedal foot and all? Audi has released the latest specs for the R8 E-Tron, and they are just beastly. The EV will deliver 456 horsepower, have 679 pound-feet of torque and will be able to jet from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds. More stunningly, the car will have a single-charge range of 280 miles, which is about 15 miles longer than the Model S's range. Audi says the new, long-distance pack is due to " new battery cells," but declined to go into detail. Despite the excellent numbers, not everyone thinks a new R8 E-Tron poses any threat to Tesla. Prices for the "base" version of the R8 with a gas-powered V10 engine start at 165,000 euros ($185,000), and there's no guessing yet what an EV version will cost. Whatever it is, the car's been markedly improved compared to the earlier iterations. We reported on progress of the new R8 E-Tron about a year ago that the single-charge range would climb to about 250 miles, and that the mill would deliver about 376 horsepower. Audi first showed off a concept version of the car at 2009's Frankfurt Auto Show, saying at the time that the model had a single-charge range of about 150 miles. So this is good progress. Check out Audi's rather lengthy press release below. Audi presents the new R8: The sporty spearhead just got even sharper The second generation of the high-performance sports car makes its debut in Geneva 5.2 FSI engine with up to 449 kW (610 hp), 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.2 seconds New multimaterial Audi Space Frame with high proportions of aluminum and CFRP No model with the four rings is closer to motorsport, none is more striking and more dynamic: at the Geneva Motor Show, Audi is presenting the second generation of its high-performance R8 sports car. The V10 mid-engine and a newly developed quattro drive ensure breathtaking driving performance, especially in the top-of-the-range version with 449 kW (610 hp): achieving 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in just 3.2 seconds, its top speed is 330 km/h (205.1 mph).
Audi looking for Tesla-style, non-traditional way to sell EVs
Fri, Nov 27 2015As part of Audi's notable EV emphasis at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week, there was a bit of a secondary discussion on just how the automaker might get to the point where 25 percent of all of its sales would be electric vehicles. After all, no major automaker has figured out how to crack into the double-digit percentage of plug-in vehicle sales. The problem might be, as The New York Times noted recently, that traditional dealerships just don't know how to sell EVs. While no one at Audi was saying that the automaker is going to open up its own EV stores, like Tesla has, but two Audi of America executives were certainly warm to a different style of how an automaker can encourage EV sales. Filip Brabec, AoA's director of product management, said that Audi is at least considering making changes, including some sort of different dealership experience and perhaps a new kind of test drive. "The traditional automotive approach is not necessarily working," Brabec said. "A lot of it has to do with the complexity of the product and the complexity of the offer and it's difficult, I think, to bring that into a classical dealership and sort of treat is as another car and off we go. I think there needs to be some differences in how we go in the future." AoA president Scott Keogh said that Tesla has shown the rest of the industry how to make selling EVs a complete experience. It's not just about the car, he acknowledged. "I think we have to give Tesla credit where it's deserved," he said. "I think the charging network, at least from a public relations point of view, is quite strong and that's definitely added to the message." So many automakers want to have that, "Tesla fighter," as we've heard over and over recently, but Keogh hinted that Audi could do a better job than Tesla is doing today. "I think they've done a good job of looking at the full package. I think we have some resources and the network and everything else that we can put a fuller package together." The most important part is getting people into the cars, Brabec said. "I think exposing consumers to EVs, letting them experience EVs is another big aspect, and probably different than we have today, because test driving a car today is a very conventional thing. It's probably not going to be as conventional with EVs, particularly if you've never been in one before." We can't wait.
Next-gen Audi A7 design to be 'radical'
Wed, Dec 24 2014The Prologue concept has our attention. In fact, it has everyone's attention. It is the preview for the coming A7, and Autocar summarized Audi design chief Marc Lichte's concerning the new A7 as, "A more radical design is promised for the next-generation." In fact, the next A7 is said to become "the most radical" of three coming designs inspired by the Prologue, the others being the new A6 and A8. Autocar also said Lichte made it clear that there would be "much greater visual differentiation between the trio and other future Audis." Yet, for at least four years Audi has been talking about a design overhaul to fight back charges that its cars look too similar. In 2011 there was a "design initiative" dubbed AQR to make sure that "the design details will be different" between its hatchbacks, Quattro offerings and R Sports cars, and make proportion changes to its sedans. That didn't really move the needle. In 2013, then-design boss Wolfgang Egger hailed the end of "scalable design," a prime culprit for the 'same sausage, different lengths' accusations. We're not sure the needle moved much then, either. And this year came news of a new "Quattro-centric" design language that would stress horizontals, perhaps the new Q7 it's first serious proponent, a crossover that we'll have to see before we can judge. Although we've heard the bells ringing about fresh design at Audi for years, we hope they mean it with products that come after the Prologue; it is a fabulous place to start.
