2001 Audi Tt Convertible on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
I'm second owner, has 73850 miles, manual transmission, it’s been great – especially with the top down. The improvement in gas mileage over my previous vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, is incredible – 19/27 mpg! However, it’s just too sporty for me.
Plus the suspension is low and stiff – great for handling but not as comfortable/soft as I would like.
All regular maintenance has been performed (brake fluid every two years, coolant flushed, synthetic oil, etc.).
The timing belt and water pump have been replaced as preventive maintenance.
The wheels/tires, suspension, and brakes/rotors were upgraded less than a year ago.
In addition to the coil-over suspension, the rubber bushings were replaced with hard polyutherane bushings which, while improving handling, have stiffened the feel of the steering. When the steering wheel is turned at a stop or at low speeds like in a parking lot it makes a creaking sound. The result at high speeds however is a vast improvement in handling.
The instrument cluster is fading and hard to read in daylight and the fuel gage works but shows full as full and ˝ as empty – the needle does drop gradually from full to ˝ as fuel is used. Plus, there is a low fuel indicator light and tone.
There are also general signs of wear as would be expected with a used car.
The a/c, electric convertible top, windows, locks, and radio/cd changer all work perfectly.
The top, which looks great and does not leak at all, has had the stitching reinforced around the rear window to prevent further weakening of the rubber seal from the heat.
The engine idles perfectly and the clutch shifts smoothly. The coil packs and spark plugs were also replaced less than a year ago.
Clear Florida title in hand. Two keys, the original books, and service records are also included.

Audi prices 2014 A8L TDI from $82,500*
Thu, 31 Jan 2013During the Los Angeles Auto Show last November, Audi told us that it would be bringing four new diesel-powered models to the United States this year. The first to arrive is the 2014 A8L TDI you see here, and we've now learned that the big oil-sipper will be priced from $82,500, (*excluding $895 for destination).
The whole new range of diesel models will be powered by Audi's 3.0-liter TDI V6, good for 240 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque in this application. Of course, Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, and even in the big A8, the diesel grunt will be enough to propel the long-wheelbase flagship to 60 miles per hour in 6.4 seconds (almost a full second slower than the A8 3.0T we reviewed last fall). That said, the A8 TDI should still be a pretty engaging steer, and considering the fact that this thing will reportedly return fuel economy figures of up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway (24 in the city), a slightly slower launch time is well worth it. (The A8 3.0T tops out at 28 mpg highway.)
Elsewhere in the segment, Mercedes-Benz offers a diesel version of its S-Class flagship, retailing for $93,000 and good for fuel economy figures of 21/31 mpg city/highway. By comparison, the A8 TDI seems like a steal, and we'll be interested to see where the forthcoming BMW 7 Series diesel falls into the class of huge oil-burning barges.
The Acura NSX leads this month's list of discounts
Thu, Feb 4 2021For the second time in the last three months, the Acura NSX has a larger monetary discount than any other vehicle in America. Acura's hybrid super coupe packs 573 horsepower under its sleek bodywork, sufficient to send it sailing off to 60 miles per hour in a scant 2.9 seconds. But it doesn't exactly fly off the showroom floor with the same level of urgency. Buyers of the NSX are paying an average of $138,078 right now, which is a savings of $22,823 off its window sticker. That represents a 14.2% discount, which is also the largest percentage savings in February. And if the NSX doesn't quite fit into your future plans, Acura is also heavily discounting the ILX, TLX, RLX and MDX, so much so that those five models from the premium Japanese brand all appear in the top 10 biggest discounts this month. 2020 Acura NSX View 11 Photos The sleek 2020 Aston Martin Vantage slides into second place on the biggest discounts list, with an average of $18,763 lopped off its sticker price resulting in an average transaction price of $137,298. That's awfully close to the out-the-door price of the leading Acura NSX, which is a quicker and more technologically advanced machine, though arguably less traditionally beautiful. Rounding out this month's top three discounts is the 2020 Audi R8, buyers of which are averaging $17,888 off the sticker price for an average transaction of $179,238. Note that the Audi R8 is available as both a coupe and a convertible, with two power levels offered from its standard V10 engine. That means some R8s are certainly going to be much pricier than others. 300-HP 2013 Audi S3 Sportback unwrapped
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Not content to let Volkswagen have all of the fun with its GTI and Golf R, Audi is rebooting its five-door S3 Sportback with rather monstrous power. Headed for an official unveil at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the new S3 rolls out with a 300-horsepower, 280-pound-feet of torque turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI engine under the hood. The four-cylinder powerplant is strong enough to shove the Sportback to 62 miles per hour in just 5.0 seconds when connected to the optional S-Tronic gearbox, or 5.5 seconds with the traditional manual transmission. Top speed is said to be an electronically governed 155 mph. Almost as impressive as those performance figures are the fuel economy ratings: the S- S3 is said to average 34 miles per gallon.
All S3 Sportback models offer Quattro all-wheel drive, ride on a sport-tuned suspension tuned to a lower ride height (about one inch) versus the standard Audi A3. 18-inch wheels with 225-section tires are standard equipment, and 13.39-inch front brakes should offer serious stopping ability.
Audi has done a lot of work shedding pounds from this latest MQB-architecture S3, as well. The car has a curb weight of roughly 3,186 pounds, or some 154 pounds less than the outgoing model. 11 of those pounds were cut via weight-saving measures in the 2.0-liter engine.
