 2001 Audi TT 225 HP Quatro - 6 SPEED~ONLY 16,766 MILES - absolutely origional  miles

I purchased this car on May 26, 2001 from a person who won the car in in an annual raffle from the Asheville Symphony in Asheville, North Carolina.  At that time the car has 292 miles.  I have considerable documentation from the Asheville Symphony and the winner of the car.  I also have the actual advertisement from eBay from May 20, 2001 when the car was advertised for sale.  I have a considerable amount of documentation that goes with the car that verifies this information.

The car has never been out in inclement weather and was never driven in the winter months (November to April).  I was purchased as a pleasure car and only used as a pleasure car since new.  It was never, ever, from the day I purchased it, used as a daily driver.  Up until last year I always had 4 classic Corvettes that were also pleasure cars – hence the low mileage on this car.  I sold a 1954 Corvette last year that I owned for 28 years and drove it less than 2,000 miles in that period.  I just didn’t have time to drive all my cars, Audi included.

Basically this car is almost brand new.  No one has ever sat in the back and only 4 times has anyone every sat in the passenger side.  I always covered the seats with a sheet before sitting in it.  The pictures do not do the car justice.

Ergonomics in the car are superb, the use of top materials & sensational concept-car styling, handling & road holding, all in a potent 4 cylinder turbo 225 HP high-revving engine and an "All Wheel Drive" system, with very safe front and side air bags for safety.  My car is the top of the line model & basically comes factory loaded with the most desirable options & packages: Audio package:  Bose ® 225 watt premium 7-speaker sound system (including subwoofer) 6-disc CD changer Premium package: Heated front seats with individual temperature control, Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights/automatic self-leveling, 17-inch 5-spoke forged original factory alloy wheels with 225/45 performance tires also go with the car, transmission is a 6-speed manual transmission with all synchronized reverse gears.

Note:  I have replaced the original spoiler and rear valance that originally came on a 2003 Audi TT’s.  I liked that look better and felt it was a great improvement.  Please note that these items can be easily removed from the car and original equipment re-installed.  Please know I did not retail those parts – I knew I would never put them back on the car.

I am selling the car locally and may end auction early if I sell the Audi locally, so please call me if you have interest.  Call me with any and all questions on my cell:  (908) 938-8789.  Before you waste my time and yours, please know I am NOT desperate to sell the car – I am sure that I will regret selling it.

- I encourage you to look at this car or have someone look at it for you – absolutely no disappointments.

Audi E-Tron vs. Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X: How they compare on paper

Tue, Sep 18 2018

The all-electric crossover segment is suddenly heating up. Tesla was first to market with its Model X, and the California-based automaker has a several-year head start on the rest of the field. But now it has competition, with the Jaguar I-Pace already hitting dealerships across the globe and the just-announced Audi E-Tron hot on their heels. We decided to see how Audi's new entrant compares with its British and American rivals, so we downloaded their spec sheets (at least those that are available) and dumped them all into the spreadsheet you see below. As you'll soon find out, there are lots of similarities between these three electric crossovers, but each has a unique selling point or two with which to entice buyers. View 24 Photos Performance Note that we're using the Tesla Model X 75D for this comparison, since that's the model that is closest in price to the Jaguar and Audi entries. If you really want the fastest and most powerful electric CUV available, you're going to want to look at Tesla's ludicrous P100D model, but you'd better be willing to just about double the price you see in the chart above. With that out of the way, these particular electric crossovers are all pretty quick. The Jaguar boasts the quickest 0-60 time, but in the real world, that half-second advantage over the 75D won't amount to much. The Audi is a full second behind the Jaguar, and a little over a half second slower to 60 than the Tesla. A 5.5-second 0-60 time, though, still means the E-Tron will be able to squirt away from traffic lights quicker than the rest of the morning commuters. As far as battery capacity, Audi leads the way with 95 kWh, which is 5 more than the Jag and a whopping 20 more than the Tesla. Until we get estimated range figures, though, we won't know what the extra capacity means in the real world. In other words, stay tuned. View 74 Photos Exterior and interior dimensions The Jaguar is the smallest of these three 'utes, inside and out. The Tesla Model X is the largest. Does that make the Audi just right? Maybe, but only if you don't need a third row — the Model X is the only one of this trio that offers seating for six or seven passengers (depending on whether the buyer opts for a second-row bench or individual chairs). A smaller size may be a boon for drivers who often have to fit into tight spaces, but those slinky dimensions mean the Jaguar's cargo capacity is well behind that of the Audi and not even close to the cavernous Tesla. Audi boss: no to minivan

Fri, Jun 5 2015

Well done to you, Rupert Stadler. We salute you. The Audi exec went on record during an interview with Automotive News and basically shut the door on the idea of a Audi-badged minivan. When asked by AN, Stadler pointed to the high conquest rate enjoyed by crossovers and SUVs compared to minivans. On top of that, Stadler argued against vehicles like the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer by pointing out that customers tend to shy away from minivans because of the image they put forth. "Consumers are more likely to switch to an SUV and are more likely to pay a premium price because SUVs are considered more emotional," Stadler told AN. "We would rather be the emotional choice than the rational choice." It's not all good news, though. Stadler gave a resounding "no" to an A8 wagon, based on the Prologue Avant Concept, as well as a BMW 6 Series rival. Instead, Audi will focus on the upcoming Q8 SUV, which the exec said was "more likely to be a winner than a large coupe." The company is also hard at work on additional Sportback models, although Stadler didn't elaborate on which models could get the five-door treatment. Related Video:

Audi's next R8 snapped running the 'Ring nearly naked

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Following the debut of the Lamborghini Huracán, work is now well well under way on its cousin. That, of course, would be the next-generation Audi R8, the followup to the model that put Ingolstadt on the supercar map in 2006 and has been on the market ever since. That's an eight-year lifespan, though to be fair, for 2014 it has gotten a pretty meaningful update. Still, that's a long lifecycle, even if the Gallardo with which it shares its underpinnings was around even longer. In other words, it's about due for replacement.
Fortunately, that's just what Audi has in the cards. We've seen prototypes wearing heavy camouflage lapping the Nürburgring a couple of times over the past few weeks, but now it's been snapped nearly completely undisguised, with largely bare black bodywork giving us an even better look at what to anticipate.
So what are we looking at here? A sharper-looking take on the existing design, for starters, so onlookers and customers alike shouldn't have any trouble identifying this as an R8 - but a newer one at that. It seems to take some cues from the new TT, particularly around the headlights, with more squared-off elements throughout. There's an adaptive rear wing poking out the back and more pronounced side-blade intakes between the doors and the rear wheels, which themselves are wearing ultra low-profile rubber.
