Summary: 2002 Audi S8, 92k, 360 HP DOHC 4.2L V8, Quattro AWD, Tiptronic 5-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel controls, immaculate inside and out, contact me at mattjessup3 at gmail.com.

Description: I am selling my immaculate 2002 Audi S8. I am the second owner of this fantastic car, built to compete with the BMW M5, Mercedes E55 AMG, and Jaguar XJR. To create an S8 Audi took their all-aluminum A8 flagship, made nearly every option standard, then added a DOHC 60 valve 4.2 L V8 that makes 360 HP and smoothly revs to 7,000 RPM, a 5-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic manual shift control via steering wheel controls or shift gate, an automatic Sport transmission mode, a unique 3-spoke steering wheel, lower and tighter suspension, Recaro seats, subtle body styling, 18" Avus wheels, aluminum mirrors, and huge Brembo front brakes. The eventual MSRP of my car (window sticker copy included) was over $76k and it shows, the build quality and materials are absolutely top notch. In addition to the usual power equipment the S8 has features like double glazed door glass, double door seals, self-leveling HID lights, power moonroof, power steering wheel telescope and tilt with easy entry retract, 3 memory settings for the seats/doors/power wheel/mirrors that sync to the remotes, power folding mirrors, dual zone climate control, heated seats front and rear, power rear window sunshade, back door sunshades, Napa leather, power lumbar front and rear, Bose audio, back seat ski pass-thru, rear A/C and heat vents, stability and traction control, airbags in the front/side/side curtain, and so much more. It is a fantastic driving car that easily seats five adults in comfort, equally fun around town and effortless on the highway. It is also spectacular in bad weather, I have never driven a car that makes snow driving so easy.

Cosmetic Condition: Very clean inside and out. The leather has only light wear and is still soft and supple, and the carpet has no stains or wear. Audi OEM rubber floor mats are currently installed but a mint condition set of OEM carpet mats are also included, as well as a custom fit sun shade. The exterior paint is fantastic with a great shine. Very light scratches along the trunk lid lip, no dents or other body damage. Slight haze to LH headlight lens. The hood was repainted by the previous owner due to rock chips, in the right light a particular eye can see a slight shade difference. The quality is otherwise impeccable, and there are no mask lines or overspray. No other paintwork, no accidents, clean Carfax. Wheels are very nice with only a few small scratches. The rear door interior grab/switch panels have been refinished due to scratches and don't perfectly match the rest of the interior, these parts are still available from Audi if a perfect match is desired. The leather has recently received a full Leatherique treatment, and the exterior has received a machine polish with Pinnacle polish and wax with Zaino products. The car spent most of its life in Texas so it is very dry underneath on fasteners, the body and structure is aluminum so it will never rust.

Mechanical Condition: Fantastic, with lots of recent maintenance done. At the moment the car simply needs nothing. I am the second owner and bought it directly from the original owner, who did all service and repairs at Audi dealerships in the DFW area. I have service records since new, summarized in an Excel spreadsheet that is available via email. Highlights include the timing belt, ATF fluid and filter, and new Bridgestone Potenza all-season tires. All features work correctly except for the right rear power headrest does not adjust. Otherwise it drives and works excellent.

I am selling my S8 because I no longer need a four door sedan.. I have a clean and clear KS title in hand, all service records since new, a copy of the window sticker, and all books and keys. Contact me via email at mattjessup3 at gmail.com and I will provide the Excel maintenance file as well as 108 high resolution photos. Thanks for looking.

New Audi Sport Quattro Laserlight geeks out with mad lumens

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

It's safe to say that, at least as far as automotive companies go, Audi's Sport Quattro Laserlight concept car is stealing the show here at CES in Las Vegas. The car's 700-horsepower hybrid powertrain and carbon-fiber bodywork mean that it would go like stink if it were ever allowed to turn a wheel, and the shapely coupe stance looks every inch the part of a modern-day super coupe, too. Better yet, the laser-powered headlamps that are the crowning glory of the concept car are actually slated for production at some point in the not-distant future.
We're talking about lasers here, folks. I don't know about you, but if you had told the 10-year-old, Real Genius-watching version of me that there'd one day be a car with lasers for headlights, well, I'd have wanted one of those things, pretty bad.
Anyway, Audi's lasers may not be able to ignite a giant pack of Jiffy Pop from space, but they are set to be the new standard for illumination on the road. The laser lights are nearly three times as bright and beam twice as far as current, top-notch LED high beams and were called "safer, sharper and more efficient" compared with existing technologies. That "safer" part works on two levels: the brighter beams offer far better visibility, naturally, but Audi also tells us that they won't dazzle oncoming drivers like traditional high beams will. That means you can drive with the maximum illumination at all times. Cool stuff, here at CES.

Audi confirms Q8, electric CUV in the works

Sat, May 23 2015

Word got out in late 2012 that the Audi Q8 was reportedly approved for production, but the company has kept the model's development under wraps since then. In a recent speech during Audi's annual meeting, chairman Rupert Stadler confirmed a little more about the vehicle and dropped some hints about other upcoming projects. With luxury crossovers remaining a lucrative market, it should be no shock that Stadler emphasized them in his speech. He reiterated that the Q1 was on track to launch in 2016, and the chairman also confirmed the Q8 as "a sporty Q derivative" that's on the way. The last member of Audi's upcoming CUV onslaught, an electric Q series, is set for 2018 with a range of over 311 miles. An earlier report suggests that the Q1 might not go on sale in the US because it's not right for the market. However, Audi of America is pushing hard to get the Q8. That crossover is based on the latest Q7 (pictured above) and is a way for the Four Rings to take on the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The electric Q model was only officially announced earlier this year, and it might use 90-kWh batteries to achieve its performance and range goals. The rest of Stadler's speech focused on the company's future. This year alone, the company is launching products like the second-gen Q7, the new R8, and latest A4. In the next five years, Audi plans to grow its product range from 52 vehicles "to about 60 models," according to the chairman. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG Neckarsulm, 2015-05-22 Speech at the 126th Annual General Meeting of AUDI AG Outlook Thank you, Axel Strotbek, for your summary of financial year 2014. Ladies and gentlemen, that brings us to 2015 – the year of the next stage of our model initiative. We will present twelve new Audi models this year; the three most important of them are: the new Audi Q7, the new Audi R8 as the sporty spearhead of our brand and our top seller, the new Audi A4. You have already been able to admire the new Q7 and R8 at the entrance. Both of them make a strong statement. Both of them stand for sportiness and top premium quality. And both of them underscore our claim to leadership. We have produced more than 540,000 of the first-generation Q7. The new Audi Q7 is more than a worthy successor. It's the lightest vehicle in its segment. By means of intelligent lightweight construction, we have reduced its weight compared with the predecessor by up to 325 kilograms, depending on equipment levels.

2014 Audi RS5 Cabriolet [w/video]

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

Brash Bruiser Loses Top, Gains Weight, Still Makes Friends
Everything we said after driving the RS5 coupe still rings true, even after Audi has gone and ripped off its metal roof, replaced it with a big cloth version, and tossed us the keys. The 2014 Audi RS5 Cabriolet is another bold, big-boned airmobile to make open-top lovers swoon. There is absolutely nothing revolutionary to speak of here versus its hardtop counterpart, frankly, but tear-assing through the southern French hills as the brilliant sun warmed us is plenty good reason to talk a lot about it anyway. And hey, it beats frigid January in Detroit, where the RS5 Convertible is shortly to receive its US introduction.
One issue that could corrupt things a bit is the convertible's added weight factor. It's one thing when an Audi TT removes its top and gains 176 pounds, or when a Porsche Cayman morphs into a Boxster and gains 66 pounds; the effect on dynamics will still be acceptable. But when it comes to a huge-roof coupe like the RS5, that gain in mass becomes 400-plus pounds in cabrio form, for a grand curb weight of 4,461 pounds. As a number attached to this size of a car that's also branded with an RS badge promising raciness, we admittedly fretted. Then we drove the Audi RS5 Cabriolet to cheer up.
