The best car I've owed this far! Fast, yes. And downright gorgeous! I get a slew of complements with her. The combination of the all-wheel drive, the engine and the dual clutch transmission is amazing! The matched rev downshifts and the loaded throttle upshift engine signature "blurp" sold me on this car. I would like to keep her, which brings to the reason I’m selling…..I would like to free up some money to be able to build a new garage. Mileage is 31,777. MPG according to car ECU is 20.6MPG; of which I drive city/rural most of the time. The car will still be driven until sold so mileage will vary. No accidents! Clear Title. Car has warranty until Nov 17th 2014 or 50K. Purchase with confidence that mechanically this car is solid. Car also comes with Audi Care. Audi care is a scheduled maintenance pre-paid package when you buy your car new. It includes the 15K, 25K, 35K and 45K services. 35K service was performed in Aug 2014. 45K is free for you. Purchase with peace of mind that all maintenance that should be done, has been done. Features 3.0L Supercharged V6 - 333HP stock – STaSIS 410HP 7 Speed Dual Clutch Auto Manual Meteor Gray Pearl exterior Black/Silver two toned nappa leather interior Dark Wood grain trim. Xenon Headlights with signature LED Keyless entry/drive Audi MMI Navigation Plus Audi Side Assist Backup camera and beepers Lip spoiler Rubber mats are what is used. I have carpet mats as well. The convertible top opens and closes in about 15 sec it seems and you can perform while moving less than 30MPH. STaSIS Equipment. If you know Audi, you know STaSIS. The only tuner that mirrors factory warranty with a network of Audi partnered dealerships. The care is almost a STaSIS Touring Edition S5 Cabriolet. I say almost as the car does NOT have a STaSIS exhaust. It has the stock exhaust. Nor does it have the optional Touring Edition brakes. STaSIS equipment included are: 20”Wheels/tires, ECU engine tuning, Suspension that includes front/rear progressive coil springs, front/rear secondary springs, rear sway bar that lowers the vehicle approximately 1.3”. Car is in excellent condition in comparison to what is out there. I’m a meticulous owner and clean freak with my cars. Full disclosure on defects is as follows…1 wheel was curbed and professionally repaired with a proper fixed (the one pictured). Front apron under belly steep driveways scuff marks. Scratch on steering wheel Audi ring frame (from watch and attempt to buff out). A few road pebble pin needle size dings on front. And small scratch by rear license plate frame. Audi pours $28 million into Silvercar rental company
Mon, Jan 4 2016Want an Audi waiting for you when you land at the airport? Silvercar is the place to turn. The rental car company exclusively stocks fully loaded silver examples of Ingolstadt's finest at airports across the country, available to book via smartphone app with no lines or paperwork. And now the automaker whose vehicles make up its fleet is investing big in the company. Audi's $28-million Series C investment is earmarked to help Silvercar expand into new markets. The company only started in 2012 and already runs locations at airports in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, and Denver. In the last six months alone, it opened new locations in Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, and New York as well. Aside from promoting the rental operation, Audi and Silvercar will collaborate on developing the Audi Shared Fleet program to allow companies to loan vehicles out to their employees. Audi of America chief Scott Keogh will join the Silvercar board, along with Ken DeAngelis from Austin Ventures, which contributed Series B funding alongside Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin. The capital raise is the largest yet for Silvercar, which was founded in 2012 with a fleet consisting of silver Audi models. The Series C announcement comes as Silvercar unveils its enhanced digital and mobile platforms designed for an optimized user experience and expands into Las Vegas, its 12th market, all of them in the U.S. Silvercar also received funding from Series B investors, including Austin Ventures and Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. The funding will enable Silvercar to accelerate its award winning airport car rental business and expand to new markets nationwide. Additionally, as part of the next phase of the Silvercar partnership with Audi, the companies will work in tandem to develop Audi Shared Fleet, a turnkey solution for businesses looking to provide accessible transportation to their employees on corporate campuses.
Audi Q7 E-Tron Quattro TDI Quick Spin
Fri, Nov 20 2015The operating word is quiet. This refers both to the sound inside the cabin of the upcoming Audi Q7 E-Tron Quattro TDI – even with the diesel engine running – and the company's public statements about its plan for this powertrain in the United States. Basically, while Europe is getting the diesel plug-in sometime next spring (a bit of a delay), all we know for sure right now is that the US will be getting the Q7 E-Tron, probably in 2018, and it will have either a 3.0-liter turbodiesel or 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine. You may now place your bets as to which one you think the public (or, more likely, CARB) will go for. We're guessing 2.0T. Despite not knowing if we'll ever see this E-Tron TDI on our side of the Atlantic, we recently spent an enjoyable morning tooling around the hills outside Madrid, Spain. As we said, this beast is seriously quiet, and impressively so. Driving Notes The Q7 is a big vehicle, but with powertrain that combines electric motors and diesel thrust, there's a ton of low-end torque. The official 0-62 time is 6.0 seconds, which is basically the same as the 6.1 seconds of the non-PHEV Q7. The Q7 E-Tron is about 500 pounds heavier than the already-4,700-pound Q7, but because of its trick powertrain, never felt sluggish in the hills of Spain. This Q7 E-Tron is a parallel hybrid, with the 3.0-liter TDI diesel engine and the 94-kW disc motor both able to drive the wheels. Overall, they provide 373 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Despite the parallel system, the not-quite-powerful-enough electric motor doesn't provide the complete electric drive experience that EV fans might be looking for. For example, the Q7 E-Tron has a top speed of 139.8 mph, but that's only in hybrid mode. In EV mode, its top speed is just 78 mph. Audi's Virtual Cockpit display, first seen in the TT, remains an ideal way to give you a wealth of information in an easy-to-see format. It's just as slick in the Q7, where you can toggle the size of the gauges and then pick what you want the screen to focus on, whether that's speed limits, infotainment information, powertrain usage, speed, or navigation.
Audi 4.2-liter V8 to live again in next-gen R8
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Fellow auto enthusiasts, it looks like the car gods have smiled upon us. Word is that Audi's stupendous 4.2-liter V8 will once again be available in the next-generation R8. Rumors pegged the trusty 4.2 as a dead engine revving, thanks to Audi's newer 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 found in models like the S6 and S7.
We expected the 4.0-liter to be the go-to engine in the next R8, but according to Car and Driver, there have been some issues cooling the force-induced mill in the mid-engine R8. The issues are so severe, in fact, that the 4.2 is going to be retained in the car's second generation.
It's more than just practical matters like cooling that are keeping the R8 from going turbocharged. C/D reports that even with the current state of forced induction, a turbocharged R8's throttle response and its resultant exhaust note would suffer too much to be feasible.
