I bought this S4 from a dealer in Maryland in 2003 with 12k miles on it. I have babied it ever since. Warranty service was done at dealers in CT, and afterwards work was done at European Auto in CT. I have a thick folder of all work receipts. Garaged. Detailed religiously. Regular and all season mats included. 4 good snow tires included. Weathertech rubber truck liner. A snowplow put a 2" nick on my bumper when it was parked, which I bitched about and got money for, but apparently it comes up on carfax as an accident, so says the dealer. No real damage, no frame damage etc, just cosmetic 2" nick on rear bumper. Would be hard to find a cleaner '02 S4 in tristate area with so few miles. I am reluctant to sell her as she has been such a good car, but the wife has convinced me its time for a newer model. Another Silver Audi. You cant beat their handling, especially in the snow. Audi R8 V10 Plus vs. Renault Clio Cup racecar will make you go hmmm...
Fri, 18 Jul 2014Match up a hot hatch with a supercar of the same vintage, and we'll tell you who will win every time. It's easy, really, as the supercar invariably features a more advanced suspension, stickier tires and most importantly, more power. What if the hot hatch is race prepped, though?
In that particular case, all bets are off. A circuit-tuned suspension, a stripped-down cabin, an ultra-quick sequential transmission and the greatest equalizer of them all, slick tires, are all that's needed to turn the typical hot hatch into a proper dragon slayer.
Perhaps seeking to prove this, Evo has put together an interesting head-to-head between the Audi R8 V10 and a race-prepared Renault Clio Cup. Host Dickie Meaden takes us through each car, highlighting the bits and bobs on both sides which should make this a tight competition. And boy, is this one tight.
After Le Mans exit, Audi adds World Rallycross to Formula E and DTM efforts
Wed, Jan 18 2017Back in October, Dieselgate claimed another victim: Audi's FIA World Endurance Championship program. Audi left at the height of its Le Mans racing prowess, having won 13 times overall in 18 years at the famous French race. We didn't expect Audi Sport to confine itself solely to the Formula E and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) series, and so today Audi announced that the company would officially back an existing FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) team, EKS, in 2017. EKS was formed by Mattias Ekstrom, who is also a factory Audi DTM driver with a couple of championships under his belt in that series. He's been competing in various rally and touring car series for years, and even snagged a ride in a NASCAR Sprint Cup race back in 2010 at Infineon Raceway. The EKS team came together in 2014, with Ekstrom fielding an Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro. And the team hasn't done too badly for itself; in 2016, it took the driver's and team championships. There's only so much Ekstrom's team as privateers can do to protect its championship from factory-backed teams, so that explains why Audi Sport was happy to step in with full support – including vehicle development supported by the actual motorsport department at Audi.
