2004 AUDI A4 CABRIOLET - EXCELLENT CONDITION!

For sale is my 2004 Audi A4 Cabriolet Convertible. I purchased this car in March of 2009 with 79,000 miles on it. It came from Georgia and has never seen snow. I've driven it in the Summer months only and have only put an average of 5,800 miles on it each year. The odometer currently reads 108,492. I have maintained this car meticulously since I've owned it. The only scheduled maintenance this car needs is the timing belt which is an $800.00 expense which I'm considering in my reserve price. Other than that, this car needs nothing. All power features, all gauges.....everything works like it should.

It handles and drives just like an Audi ....tight and quiet. The convertible top works perfectly and I even have the wind screen to keep the wind off of the back of your head when driving with the top down (see picture). It's got the 1.8 Turbo engine and the 6 speed Tiptronic Automatic transmission. The paint, glass and trim are beautiful. Any blemishes you may see in the paint from the pictures are just bugs that I was too lazy to wash off before I took the pictures :) There's absolutely no rust anywhere. Even the undercarriage looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. This is one of the cleanest 2004 Audi's you will ever see! I listed the NADA pricing sheet in the pictures. I truly feel it's worth the clean retail price, but I'm willing to negotiate.

The only reason I am selling my baby is because my new bride has a 2013 BMW 328 I Convertible and unfortunately, I don't have room for both of them :(

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.

Audi R18 suffers huge crash during Le Mans practice, driver conscious and alert

Loic Duval, driver of the #1 Audi R18 E-tron Quattro, suffered a massive crash today during free practice for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Duval's car reportedly went off track backwards at high speed near the Porsche Curves and flew into the retaining fence. There is no video of the actual crash at the moment, but a video of the aftermath (viewable below) shows significant damage to the Audi and to the fence. The wall nearby the car appears unaffected.
Thankfully, it occurred quite close to a marshal's stand, and they were present almost immediately after the incident. Both the official press release from the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a tweet from Audi Sport (below) indicated that Duval was conscious after the crash, and he was taken by ambulance to the medical center and then to the hospital. The press release says: "His condition is encouraging." However, any injuries he might have sustained are unknown at this time. After the crash, the course was red flagged, and practice resumed about 50 minutes later.

Audi planning S3 Plus with 375 hp?

There's a war being waged in Europe for the highest output from the smallest displacement. Alfa Romeo has managed to squeeze 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque out of a 1.7-liter turbo four for the 4C. Mercedes-Benz has coaxed 355 hp and 332 lb-ft out of a 2.0-liter turbo four to drive the new A45 AMG, CLA45 AMG and GLA45 AMG. But not to be outdone, the Volkswagen Group is said to be working on one of its own that will put both to shame.
The engine is reportedly being based on VW's existing 2.0-liter turbo four, only enhanced to produce a massive 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The key to getting there was poaching Friedrich Eichler, the engineer who designed AMG's aforementioned high-output engine, and mandating him to do still better.
That's all well and fine - and perfectly impressive - but just what does VW plan on doing with the new engine? A whole lot, according to reports. It's expected to power the new Scirocco and a new Golf R Evo expected to debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April, and you can bet it'll be slotted into another few applications as well. But the first vehicle expected to get it will be the Audi S3 Plus.
