1998 Audi Cabriolet Roadster one of a kind. Stanced with 17x10's around. Last year of the Cabriolet in the USA till 2002 when they started importing here again. Cabriolet is its own platform. Kinda between a B3 Coupe Quattro and B4. This one is Completely Customized. In Europe a lot of people have customized these cars. You wont find anything like this in the USA. Plates good till 10/2015. So much has been done to this car. Its and ready to go!
Perfect Low Mile 1998 Audi Cabriolet with 63k miles. V6 2.8L. Runs like new. Everything has been done to this car was done right. Very Rare Brock Car Fashion Wheels were imported from Germany and are 17x10 all the way around! Car needs front tires as they are at the wear mark. Rear Tires are 60%. 245 rear/235 front. All 4 fenders were professionally rolled out to allow for these. Retaining plastic wheel well protectors.. New Paint at the same time complete. The convertibles all came with Automatic Transmissions in the USA and the cabriolet body style was used till 1998 here in the USA, but they sold til 2001 in europe in this body style. A lot of the S2 B3/B4 RS2/S2 B4 parts bolt on this car. A completely bullet proof B5 tall 5th gear manual transmission swap with all stock interior and mechanical parts was done with a 034 Short Shift kit installed. Shifting like a new car. This changes the entire drive of this car and gives a top end of 150mph. The 4 speed Automatics sucked and the gearing made them slugs. Now the car has some real power with the manual 5 speed! Plus I get almost 30mpg on the hwy! Shifts like a brand new car, clutch is perfect. Also used the Manual heater controls instead of the auto climate control crap which keeps the A/C on when in use. This has the button for A/C and it works perfect. Anyone who knows these years isnt fond of the auto climate control system and its problems.. All interior parts swapped except rear seat. VERY RARE Recaro sport seats, driver seat recovered. Interior is in perfect condition, soft and like new. Manual lever for front to back and manual spin handle for tilt with power button for height. Everything on this car works as it should except cruise control(typical Audi problem). Power windows, power top, mirrors, locks, factory alarm, remote key-less entry. mirrors are new(heated), European RS2 projector HID headlights with levelers. Front and Rear fog-lights. Completely badge-less. Complete and impossible to find S2 White Gauges, cluster, etc. Works perfectly. New OEM shift boot, knob, Audi Sport Steering Wheel. H&R suspension, Complete Cat back Magna-flow exhaust that sounds perfect. Dual Chrome tip as well. Euro RS2 front and rear bumpers. Blacked out S grill. Complete Paint done with a lot of the work done almost 4 years ago. Car has under 10k miles since then. Alpine Stereo with Alpine speakers thru out including door tweeters. I-pod hookup, usb, and auxiliary. Won 1st place at 2013 Pacific Waterland Car Show in Convertible Class and 2nd place in B4/B5 Class! Euro Plate on front is the prize given from that show. Car needs nothing but a new home with a garage!! Car has no problems, no dents, no issues, starts right up no matter how long it sits. Top is perfect. The back vinyl window is cloudy so that is the only thing i can think of that you can replace sometime to see better out of it.
Original owners manuals, etc also come with the car.
I also think that putting a 20VT would be something I was going to do someday and also maybe coilovers. Just food for thought. If someone was ambitious, take the quattro from a b4 90 quattro or B3 coupe quattro and make it a quattro 20VT S2 Cabriolet!
KBB is 8K, but with what has been done I think my price is right.

Here are all the EVs with 800V charging available in 2024

Fri, May 31 2024

As technology advances, electric cars are improving their fast-charging times. That means less time spent waiting at a DC public charger when you’re out on the road. While Level 3 chargers used to provide a maximum of 150 kilowatts of power, 350-kW chargers are become more common, making for super-fast charging Â… if your car is capable of taking advantage of it. So how do automakers improve the charging speed of their EV batteries? Some are turning to higher voltage, specifically 800V charging. What's the difference between 800-volt charging and 400-volt charging? So how does 800V charging improve upon the more common 400V EVs? Put simply, the higher the voltage, the less amperage (current) it requires to charge. In other words, with more voltage, you get more wattage (power, aka charge rate) from the same amperage (current). 800V architecture is also more efficient, with less electrical resistance, so it can use thinner cables and smaller, lighter components while needing less cooling. The tradeoff is that it is more costly, and guess who that cost gets passed on to. While automakers don't break down their pricing to show how much more you're paying for that 800V system, you'll just have to evaluate any potential purchases as a whole, and make your decision based on overall pricing of the vehicle. Thankfully, the 800V EVs on sale now are generally ones we like. Now, 800V charging capability doesn't necessarily mean an EV has 800V vehicle architecture. For instance, the GMC Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado EV operate at 400V, but with their dual battery packs, can switch to 800V when charging by temporarily connecting those packs in series. Currently, there are only a handful of EVs available with 800V charging. But if you are going to find yourself taking longer trips in your EV and using DC fast chargers more often, you might want to consider choosing one with this faster charging capability. With that in mind, these are the EVs available with 800V charging, either on sale now or coming in 2024. 800-volt EVs available in 2024 Audi E-Tron GT Chevrolet Silverado EV Genesis GV60 Genesis Electrified G80 Genesis Electrified GV70 GMC Hummer EV Pickup GMC Hummer EV SUV GMC Sierra EV* Hyundai Ioniq 5 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Kia EV6 Kia EV9 Lotus Eletre* Lotus Emeya* Lucid Air Lucid Gravity* Porsche Macan Electric* Porsche Taycan Ram 1500 REV* Tesla Cybertruck *Coming later in 2024 Green Audi Chevrolet Genesis GMC Hyundai Kia Lotus Porsche Tesla Electric Lucid EV charging

Delphi thrilled with results from autonomous car's cross-country trip

Fri, Apr 3 2015

In the first trip across the United States ever made by an autonomous car, engineers from Delphi Automotive were surprised to learn that, in some cases, their vehicle behaved a lot like a human driver. "The car was scared of tractor trailers," said Jeff Owens, the company's chief technology officer. "The car edged to the left just a little bit when it would pass trucks, and that was an interesting observation." Engineers made hundreds of notes throughout the drive, as the autonomous car covered 3,400 miles through 15 states en route to a showcase near the New York Auto Show. Overall, company officials said the car performed better than anticipated in a variety of road and weather conditions. In the course of the cross-country drive, drivers actually controlled the car only for about 50 miles, and those cases were limited to on-and-off ramps and the occasional construction zone where lanes were not marked or only sporadically marked. The purpose of the trip was to glean information on how the autonomous car worked in a real-world environment. Google and others have tested autonomous cars and autonomous features in select real-world environments before, but Delphi's adventure was the first to trek into a test with such varied challenges over a nine-day trip that began near the Golden Gate Bridge on March 22. There are some things the engineers have already learned, like the fact the camera systems had the occasional blip when the sun-angle was low. And there are some things to still be learned, as they pour over three terrabytes worth of data from cameras, radar and lidar sensors in the weeks ahead. "It's going to take us a couple weeks to digest all this," Owens said. "But we had all the data from tests. It was time to put this on the road." Built into an Audi SQ5, the vehicle was striking, if only for the fact it looked like a normal car. Many other autonomous vehicles have quirky sensors atop the roof or other features that make them stand out as experiments. Delphi arranged this one to look as much like a normal car as possible, right down to stowing an army of computers under cargo mats, so the rear contained as much trunk space as the production model. If a fellow motorist didn't know where to look -- or take the time to notice the person in the driver's seat didn't have their hands on the wheel -- there was no reason to suspect this was anything other than a regular car.

2017 Audi Q7 First Drive

Fri, May 22 2015

Automotive evolution rarely makes a great leap, instead creeping along from new model to new model at a predictable pace. Audi's new Q7, though, is like handing a Bic lighter to a Cro-Mangon man smashing rocks. In Europe the new version drops 700 pounds, almost enough to reclassify its species. Audi's fire-machine will arrive in America in early 2016, as a 2017 lighter model. We spent some time in the Swiss Alps flicking the 2017 Audi Q7. As far as revolutions go, the 2017 Q7 certainly looks new. It resembles a tall station wagon more than ever, at least in European trim. A little tweaking of the design wand has left the rear end boxy and angular. Our test models use an adaptive air suspension, and the the "all-road" setting lifts the Q7 about an inch, to the normal ride height for US models. Thus raised, the big Q looks more like an SUV. This Q7 represents the first of the Volkswagen Group's MLB-platform cars. Lighter and said to be more dynamic, MLB will underpin everything from the next-gen A4 to performance and luxury SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne, and Bentley Bentayga. With the structural improvements comes a diet heavy in aluminum, the prime reason for the previously-mentioned weight savings. When outfitted for our content and crash-safety specification, US-bound models will still be about 500 pounds lighter than before. But dramatic weight-savings isn't the Q7's only trick. The adaptive air suspension significantly changes the character of the Q7, especially in the sportiest Dynamic model. There's an optional all-wheel steering feature that improves turning radius, and helps with high-speed stability. This is not to be confused with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive, which along with a panoramic sunroof and seven seats, comes standard on all stateside models. Under the hood, things aren't so different. Both available engines are reworked but largely the same. The supercharged 3.0-liter gas engine still makes 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, but it's not as thirsty as it used to be. Expect a two or three mile-per-gallon bump once official EPA ratings arrive. That engine, as well as Audi's reworked 3.0-liter V6 TDI – good for 260 hp and 443 lb-ft once outfitted for the US – are mated to the ubiquitous ZF eight-speed transmission. The Q7's driving character greatly depends on where it is pulling power from. While the diesel model is capable, turbo lag cuts back on the satisfaction we normally derive from oil burners.
