2001 Audi Allroad Quattro Base Wagon 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars
Lexington, Kentucky, United States
Nice Allroad with no accidents and very low miles that needs a little work to make perfect. I have had this vehicle for two years and it has been my daily driver. This car has the typical Allroad issues. The air suspension will only hold in position one. The aircompressor is fairly loud and I believe that to be the prime culprit although it could be a leaky airbag. The easiest fix is the Arnott coil spring conversion which runs about a $1100 bucks. There is a check engine light that has been on ever since I acquired the vehicle. The local Audi shop said the fault code is the catalytic converter and a EGT sensor. Either way the shop said it had no effect or harm of the vehicle and to just drive it. I replaced one of the CV joints ($150) but the other side is due to be replaced also. The car also leaks a small amount of oil around the valve cover gasket.
BUT this car has been a trouble free driver since day one and other than replacing the CV joint I have done nothing other than oil changes (full synthetic) . The exterior is in excellent shape with just one small rub spot on the left front bumper and some very minor scuffs typical of a 13 year old car. The car has been garage kept mostly and waxed regularly. It is a very sharp car and it gets lots of comments! The interior is also very clean with no cracking or tears in the leather. I have used leather conditioner regularly. Car has Bose audio which sounds amazing, sunroof, heated seats and an old style GPS navigation system. I had intended to turn this car into the ultimate road trip machine but my needs have changed so I have decided to let this car go. I am pricing the car low due to the issues that may need addressed. With a little work this could be one heck of a good car. Car is sold as-is. |

Recharge Wrap-up: Audi Q5 EV built in Mexico, Tesla's $1.26B expansion
Fri, Jun 17 2016Audi will build an electric version of its Q5 in Mexico, according to anonymous sources close to the matter. Audi plans to shift all Q5 manufacturing to its $1.3 billion factory in San Jose Chiapa, which is set to open this fall. Initially, the company will build internal-combustion Q5s at the plant, with an electric version to be introduced in the near future. One source tells Automotive News Europe that Audi is currently training personnel ahead of the facility's opening. The Q5 is currently built in Ingolstadt, Germany, with some being assembled in China and India for sale in those markets. Read more from Automotive News Europe. Tesla is applying for $106 million in tax breaks as it expands its Fremont factory to the tune of $1.26 billion. The expansion comes as the electric automaker looks to accelerate production in order to meet demand for the upcoming Model 3 sedan, and the buildout will include a new production line dedicated to the model. Tesla plans to ramp up production to 500,000 units a year in 2018, though Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the Fremont factory could potentially build a million cars annually. Read more at Electrek. Formula E is partnering with the sports charity StreetGames to help bring sports opportunities to disadvantaged communities. DS Virgin Racing driver Sam Bird, who is currently in third place in the 2015/2016 season's driver standings, will head to his hometown to join Roehampton FC for a soccer tournament on June 27. "If I hadn't been a racing driver, I'd like to think I could have had a career as a professional footballer," Bird says, "so I might be able to give them a few hints and tips on ball control as well as explaining car control!" StreetGames will also be represented at the London ePrix with sports activities for attendees. Read more from Formula E. Audi Q1 captured wearing production metal for first time
Tue, Jul 21 2015Audi is getting closer and closer to introducing its smallest crossover ever in the form of the new Q1. Now, we have our very first shots of the mini cute ute wearing its production skin. Expected to make its debut in 2016, it would seem that the Q1 will follow the trend set by the Q3 and draw inspiration from the brand's Q5 mid-sizer. Proportionally, it doesn't look dramatically smaller than the Q3. The front overhang is similarly sized, although there's a smaller rear overhang and a more aggressive rake to the rear window. The front windshield looks more aggressive too, and overall, the Q1 looks to sit lower to the ground than its big brother. While it shares a number of parts with the current Audi A1, when the Q1 debuts, it won't be based on the same platform. Audi's smallest car rides on the Volkswagen Polo's platform, while our spies report that the Q1 will instead be based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform. Despite the different platforms, though, expect there to be some sharing of powerplants. That means a variety of gas engines, and likely a version of the A1's 1.6-liter, turbodiesel four-cylinder. There should also be an SQ1 coming shortly after the standard model debuts. You know, for all the folks demanding a high-performance, all-wheel-drive, luxury mini crossover. Check out the full gallery of spy photos at the top of the page.
2016 Audi A6
Thu, 06 Nov 2014After dodging light traffic for more than 10 miles at speeds never exceeding 85 miles per hour, the left lane of the derestricted autobahn ahead of us finally opens wide. This is the opportunity we've been waiting for, and we bury the accelerator against its stop and hold it there. The transmission attached to the turbocharged four-cylinder of our 2016 Audi A6 drops a couple gears and begins an arduous battle against aerodynamic drag.
The sleek sedan cuts through the wind effortlessly up until about 125 mph, after which the speedometer needle slows noticeably as the outside world continues to blur. By 145 mph, there's no longer a discernible feeling of acceleration, yet the bright-orange speedometer needle continues its climb. Finally, the speedometer nearly reaches 160 before we are forced to firmly brake and return to saner speeds because of traffic looming ahead.
Automakers routinely host us in Europe and elsewhere to sample their wares in a much less restrictive driving environment. Which explains why we find ourselves standing in Dresden, Germany, a stunningly beautiful 800-year-old city along the Elbe River, overlooking Audi's latest executive express.
