NO RESERVE!!!
Clear Green MI Title
I got this car as a project to have a spare car but I don't have the time to put into fixing the electrical issue - read below.  I bought it with a blown engine and I have over 3500 invested in this car with all the work I've had done to it.  I would attempt to finish the car but I don't have a garage to work on it in; and being a very recent college grad, I ran out of funds that I can put into the car.

It runs and drives very good, just as an Audi should (I've had 5 audi's and vw's of this age and loved them all!).  I just had a newer engine put in it less than 100 miles ago (by a certified mechanic), the replacement engine had about 150k, and I HAVE ALL THE PAPERS FOR IT (see pics). this car is loaded; quattro (all wheel drive), automatic with the side manual shiftier, leather heated seats -back seats too!, bose speakers, cd/tape. tires look great and i assume less than 5k on them.

Issues:
light scratched and scuffs, and very minor rust that a typical Michigan car of this age would have.
glove box door is broken but i have a replacement that is included.
the rear hatch latch doesn't latch but hatch stays shut. I have a spare trunk lid/ latch from a sedan model that i will include, but i don't know if it is compatible with the wagon.
the front door latches don't latch all the way when you first close to door, so you have to give them an extra tug to get them to close all the way. I have two complete front parts doors that will be included
The electrical issue about half of the fuse panel isn't getting power, I assumed that it was just a main block fuse or relay; but they all appear to be good, that is why the cover panel under the dash on the drivers side is removed.  I am 95% sure I now know the issue;  there are a couple control systems (computer boxes) under the carpet under the front seats.  they range from 30-60 on ebay. I think the one on the passenger side needs to be replaced because when I bought the car, the carpet was wet on that side(I assuming the door was left partially unlatched).   Some of the things that are NOT getting power are: low-beam lights, radio, speedometer, blower motor(heater/cooling controls all work), they system that disables the alarm (I just don't arm the system) or disconnecting the battery resets the system and maybe a few other car systems.    Things that ARE getting power: seats, mirrors, sunroof, high-beams, other exterior lights.

if bids get to 2400 I will include any/all of the spare used parts that i have if the buyer wants them. ($500-$900 value)

But it's a great car and rides very smooth! feel free to contact me with questions or if you would like to come inspect in person, I work during the day so my availability is after 5:30 on weekdays.
I can offer free delivery with my truck and flatbed trailer within 60 miles of 48075.

Payment is to be made IN PERSON by cash, cashier's check or money order.

Audi sets diesel records on road and track

Tue, Jun 16 2015

Ever the proponent of diesel propulsion, Audi has claimed two very different kinds of records in Europe with its finest oil-burners. The more exciting of the two was achieved recently at the Sachsenring, where the Audi RS5 TDI Competition Concept posted the fastest diesel-powered lap time ever recorded on the track. As you may recall, Audi revealed the RS5 TDI Concept last year, swapping the gasoline-burning 4.2-liter V8 in the production RS5 coupe for a 3.0-liter V6 diesel with two turbochargers and an electric supercharger. The result was 385 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, but Audi's been working on the prototype over the course of the past year. In the new Competition version, output is up to 435 hp and 590 lb-ft, and despite the inherently heavier diesel engine, it actually weighs 531 pounds less than the production model. That helped the RS5 TDI Competition lap the circuit in 1:35.35, besting the previous diesel lap record by 1.87 seconds, and adding to the Hockenheim record it took previously. Around the same time, another team set out from Maastricht in the Netherlands in an Audi A6 TDI Ultra and drove it for 28 hours straight, hitting 14 countries and logging 1,158.9 miles on a single tank of diesel. The achievement, certified by Guinness World Records, was completed in a showroom-stock vehicle, with automotive journalist Andrew Frankel and racing driver Rebecca Jackson splitting driving duties. They achieved an average of 75.9 miles per gallon – much better than the advertised rating of 67 mpg – as they cruised through from Holland to Hungary, passing along the way through Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Serbia. Record: Audi RS 5 TDI competition concept drives to record time on the Sachsenring track - Audi sets new lap record for cars with diesel engines - Superior technology platform with 435 hp and 800 Nm (590.0 lb-ft) - Electric compressor: overcomes turbo lag, enhances sprint performance Audi has set a new record time on the Sachsenring for cars with a diesel engine. The Audi RS 5 TDI competition concept rounded the 3.6 km (2.2 mi) race course in a time of 1 minute 35.35 seconds. The technology platform draws its power from a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo TDI with 320 kW (435 hp) of power and 800 Nm (590.0 lb-ft) of torque. The highlight is an electrically driven compressor.

Stanford goes from Pikes Peak to Thunderhill with autonomous Audi TTS

Mon, Feb 16 2015

In the years since Stanford University engineers successfully programmed an Audi TTS to autonomously ascend Pikes Peak, the technology behind driverless cars has progressed leaps and bounds. Back then the Audi needed 27 minutes to make it up the 12.42-mile course – about 10 minutes slower than a human driver. These days, further improvements allow the vehicle to lap a track faster than a human. The researchers recently took their autonomous TTS named Shelley to the undulating Thunderhill Raceway Park, and let it go on track without anyone inside. The Audi reportedly hit over 120 miles per hour, and according to The Telegraph, the circuit's CEO, who's also an amateur racing driver, took some laps as well and was 0.4 seconds slower than the computer. To make these massive technological advancements, the Stanford engineers have been studying how racers handle a car. They also hooked up drivers' brains to electrodes and found the mind wasn't doing as much cognitively as expected. It instead operated largely on muscle memory. "So by looking at race car drivers we are actually looking at the same mathematical problem that we use for safety on the highways. We've got the point of being fairly comparable to an expert driver in terms of our ability to drive around the track," Professor Chris Gerdes, director of Stanford's Revs Program, said to The Telegraph. With progress coming so rapidly, it seems possible for autonomous racecars to best even elite drivers at some point in the near future. Related Video:

Volkswagen posts quarterly profit despite drop in sales

Thu, Oct 29 2020

Volkswagen returned to profit in the third quarter as surging Chinese demand for luxury cars helped offset a 1.1% drop in vehicle deliveries due to the pandemic, sending its shares as much as 3% higher on Thursday. The German automaker's return to the black comes amid spiking coronavirus cases in Europe that led governments in France and Germany to order their countries back into strict national lockdowns on Wednesday. "The coronavirus remains a central problem," Volkswagen Chief Financial Officer Frank Witter said in a conference call with reporters. "This situation now is anything but relaxed." But Witter said the group expected the economic recovery to continue and did "not anticipate any nationwide lockdowns in larger markets." Witter said the takeover of U.S. truck maker Navistar International by Volkswagen's trucking unit Traton was an important acquisition, but the "current economic climate will not make this easy." Volkswagen reiterated it expects to post a profit for the full year, saying its business "recovered noticeably" in the third quarter as sales in China of premium vehicles, including Audi and Porsche sports cars, rose 3%. The quarterly performance was also aided by a series of cost-cutting measures launched earlier this year. Volkswagen said its net liquidity rose to 24.8 billion euros from 18.7 billion at the end of the second quarter. Excluding one-time items, third-quarter operating profit was 3.2 billion euros ($3.8 billion), down from 4.8 billion euros a year earlier, but up from a second quarter loss of 1.7 billion. In a note to clients, Jefferies analyst Philippe Houchois described the results as a "solid performance with strong cash, but relatively muted in the context of the (auto) sector recovery." Last week, German rival Daimler reported a record 24% jump in Chinese demand for its Mercedes-Benz cars, boosting its margins in the third quarter. Italian-American Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Peugeot manufacturer PSA Group both also posted solid results this week. Witter said Volkswagen could not say for sure whether it would meet EU CO2 emissions targets this year, adding "it will be a tough race." At 1030 GMT, Volkswagen shares were up 2.9% at 129.20 euros.
