Here for your consideration is a 2005 Audi A6 Quattro with the 3.2L engine. This auto only has 73K miles and has a clean car fax showing NO ACCIDENTS. It has just had the major service work done that includes the timing belt and water pump replaced amongst other things (approx. $3000 service). This car is clean but not perfect cosmetically, it has a few dings and scratches from normal wear of a 9 year old car. The tires about 70% of new. The interior is not flawless but looks pretty damn nice. No check engine lights and no issues to my knowledge. For those not familiar with the Quattro, the Quattro is an AWD vehicle that makes it a very safe car to drive in most all weather conditions. Why am I selling? I purchased this car for my daughter for safety but have now figured out that it is much too powerful for her 1st auto. My wife and I have decided she would be better off with a 4 cyl. later model car that we can have serviced locally. Audi TT most likely to breed crossover derivative
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Audi has been rolling out successive concepts based on the new TT. Aside from the production coupe and convertible, we've seen the Shooting Brake concept in Detroit, the Offroad concept in Beijing and, most recently, the Sportback concept in Paris. The clear message is that Audi plans on actually producing more derivatives of its stylish two-door, but the question is which one will come first?
Speaking with Britain's Car magazine in Paris this past week, Audi technical chief Ulrich Hackenberg indicated that, while the decision has still yet to be made, the crossover is the most likely candidate.
Producing the TT Offroad concept - or something like it - would give Ingolstadt another addition to its growing crossover lineup that already includes the Q3, Q5 and Q7. Whether this would come in addition to or instead of the rumored Q1 and Q4 models remains to be seen, but crossovers have become increasingly popular and profitable for German automakers like Audi.
Audi pits S3 against Ur-Quattro on gravel
Wed, 13 Nov 2013If you had to pick a winner between the latest Audi S3 and the original Audi Sport Quattro, which would it be? Both hot hatches pack around 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive, but they're separated by a good thirty years of development.
To find out, Audi took both to the old rally circuit in San Remo. Behind the wheel of the Ur-Quattro they put none other than The Stig himself - no, not the Top Gear test bot, but Stig Blomqvist, the Swedish former rally driver who drove the Quattro to the World Rally Championship in the mid-80s. In the S3 they put someone named Hermann Müller, who as best we can tell was one of Auto Union's original Silver Arrow drivers - but he died in 1975, so it's probably the guy who writes for the Audi magazine. Regardless, the contest was pretty close, so it's worth checking out in the 2:26 video clip below.
