Rare Cpo Avant, Garage-kept, Audi-care Maintained - Fun And Versatile, Great Mpg on 2040-cars

I'm getting a company car and am sadly parting ways with my beloved Audi A4 Avant. Whoever buys this vehicle will be in for a winter driving treat - it handles incredibly well (better than our 4x4 SUV) on the few days we had snow and ice in Dallas last year, and has a five star crash safety rating from the NHTSA. We comfortably fit a car seat, booster seat, and an 11 year old in the back seat of this wagon. Yes, you can have a cool, fun to drive vehicle and have kids! (but don't worry, our kids aren't allowed to eat in the car and generally ride in my wife's SUV...) The rear seats fold down and there's enough room for a bike. Anyone who is a car fanatic will know awesome wagons are!
I didn't spend five hours waxing it and applying ten coats of armor-all to it before taking the attached photos because I wanted you to see the car as it is. It's a used car - so there are a few scuff marks on the front left rim, a small door ding on the drivers side rear door, and a rear bumper scratch from our garage door. I think it's important for you to see this when you're buying a used car. We took it to the dealer and to CarMax when we were trying to decide whether to trade, sell, or sell privately, and the professionals at those places felt these scratches and dings can easily be removed or touched up. What I think really matters to a buyer is to know how much we loved and babied this car. We kept it in a garage, used only premium fuel, and everyone knows that used cars from Texas are the best since we don't have salt on the road/rust issues. It was certified on 3/2013 by Audi and has a Audi CPO warranty until 3/2016 or 100,000 miles. I will pay the $150 to transfer it to the new buyer. With the warranty, it's $85 per visit to the shop on everything the CPO warranty covers (you can find this on their website). We've used only synthetic oil and it has been cared for by the Audi-care plan, including the most recent 45,000 mile oil change and tune-up. The brake pads and tires are only 18 months old (they all have a discount tire road hazard warranty, discount tire can look them up based on serial-number if anything were to happen to the tires). I can provide all the paperwork and records I kept for this car to its new owner. The interior is clean, the seats are still like new. Some of the greatest things about this car aside from the handling and driving experience: it's a sport sedan with a turbo engine at heart with the cargo room of a small SUV. The panoramic sunroof is great! It has the Audi MMI system with navigation, satellite radio, bluetooth, iPhone connectivity, and a media hard drive that holds a lot of songs. The system even plays DVDs on the nav screen (you have to be stopped and in park...). I get ~24 MPG in the city and 32.7 MPG on the highway real world use. The black interior and the silver trim are sharp - Audi definitely knows how to do interiors. The exterior paint is cool - it's a bluish grey. LED headlamps and xenons give it a sporty and aggressive look. Yes, I love this car and having to part ways with it is tough, but I hope that whoever wins this auction will enjoy and love this vehicle as much as me. Any questions - please feel free to ask. |

Auto Express gets close-up look at the 2016 Audi R8
Wed, Feb 18 2015Audi invited Auto Express to the Ascari circuit in Spain to get a ride in the new R8 that will be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show. Jack Rix starts by giving us a walkaround of the camouflage-covered coupe, the obvious difference between it and the leaked image from a couple of weeks ago being the slatted front intakes. However, those intakes are present on the image Audi teased showing off one new, slimmer, laser headlight. The biggest shock: there will be no V8 model at launch - there will be one engine in two levels of tune. The first is the 5.2-liter R8 V10 with 540 horsepower, a bump of 15 hp over the present car. The second is the 5.2-liter R8 V10 Plus with 610 hp, a leap of 60 hp over the current model. That hotter trim, identified by its fixed rear wing, drops the 0-60 mile per hour time by a half-second to 3.2 seconds, and increases top speed seven miles per hour to 205 mph. Rix ran his fingers along the intakes behind the door and said he could feel sideblades, so all is not lost - what would an R8 be without sideblades? More obviously, on the V10 Plus Rix looked over there are new trapezoidal exhaust tips framing a serious diffuser in back. Underneath, the aluminum chassis adapted from the Lamborghini Huracan is 15 percent lighter than before and 40 percent stiffer. Shifting will be done via a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission only. There are seven driving modes, a switchable exhaust note, and more direct variable steering. The German test driver Rix rode with said the new R8 is easier to drive faster, which - no matter what you think of the looks - will make it pretty special. Next Audi RS4 to get an electric turbo?
Tue, Jul 28 2015We don't yet know if the next Audi RS4 will come to the US, but whoever gets it could find an electric turbocharger under the hood according to a report in Auto Express. The 4.2-liter V8 that has served for two RS4 generations is retiring from the line, replaced by a twin-turbocharged version of the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 used in the S4. But instead of using two sequential turbochargers - a smaller one to eliminate lag while a larger, more powerful turbo spools up - batteries charged by brake regeneration could power a first-stage electric turbo. The idea hasn't been publicly appointed for a particular model, as Audi's technical chief Ulrich Hackerberg has said that due to expense, that kind of setup "would only be used be used on the very top end models." Since the technology cuts down on the use of exhaust gases, it would also also help in markets like Europe where CO2 emissions are a factor. No matter whether it benefits from all conventional or some electric boost, the horsepower number for the twin-turbo V6 will be more than 420 hp but less than 503 hp, the rating of the V8-powered Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Auto Express believes Audi will want to maintain the power gap between the 333-hp S4 and previous, 444-hp RS4. With Hackenberg saying the new S4 will make more than 350 hp, that gets the coming RS4 up to at least 461, but AE figures it "could deliver as much as 480 hp." We'll find out sometime after the S4 launches next year.
12 new cars that will never go out of style
Tue, Nov 23 2021Some cars never go out of style. It’s rare, but it happens. They get old. They get depreciated. But they never stop looking cool. Some might call them modern or instant classics. Within a few years theyÂ’re no longer the latest and greatest, no longer the flavor of the month, but they remain special. Eternally special. Timeless. These cars arenÂ’t necessarily going to be worth a fortune someday. However, some may not depreciate as rapidly or as far as other models. But thatÂ’s not what weÂ’re talking about here. These are the cars that enthusiasts will always find desirable from the curbside. TheyÂ’re the cars you end up shopping on eBay late at night 10 years later because you canÂ’t get them out of your head. TheyÂ’re the cars that will forever excite you when you spot a clean one in traffic or in a parking lot. There are plenty of recent examples over the past couple of decades that could count as instant design classics. But then we got to thinking, what 2021 models will be forever cool to stare at? Which new cars and trucks on sale today will we be shopping on eBay late at night in the 2030s? We kept supercars and other ultra-expensive cars off the list to keep things within the realm of attainability, and ended up with 12 total cars. Lexus LC WeÂ’re not applying a numerical ranking to any of the cars on this list, but if we were, the Lexus LC would be No. 1. There isnÂ’t another car design out there that can stir our emotions the way an LC can when itÂ’s just standing still. This car is a concept design come true in the most beautiful of ways, and itÂ’s a shoo-in winner for Concours events decades into the future. All of this heaping praise, and we havenÂ’t even gotten to the LC 500Â’s intoxicating 5.0-liter V8. It doesnÂ’t win drag races. It wonÂ’t be the fastest around the track against any similarly-priced competition. But none of that matters. ItÂ’s quite possibly the best car you can buy new, and that says it all when it comes to the LC. Chevrolet Corvette It might not be the stunner that the Lexus LC is, but the new C8 Corvette is and will always be a special vehicle. ItÂ’s the first mid-engine Corvette, which instantly cements it into an automotive hall of fame section of sorts. All of the performance stats and specs are there to back up its supercar-like looks, and it remains the best performance bargain on sale today.
