Reluctantly Up For Sale is a 2004 Audi A4 (B6) 1.8T Cabriolet Sport This car has been garaged kept, tastefully upgraded, and is in excellent condition.  The miles are 75k - the vast majority are highway miles, noting that the A4 1.8T is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles available with EPA 20/28.  With an 18.5 gallon tank, the range is 518+.  This is the "sport" model, with an Audi factory lowered sport suspension of 1" and came with larger wheels (which have been further upgraded to the S4 19" trim).  This car is best represented through the pictures, continues to get compliments from people, and is routinely parked in the front by valets, often confused for a much later-model vehicle. If you are looking for a  die-hard sports-car, the 1.8L engine will underwhelm you, Audi offers the S4 with a V-8.  The Turbo has expected "off-the-line" lag, but is amazing at highway speeds.  Merging, overtaking, and cruising at 70MPH+ with the RPMs in the mid 2s - gas mileage, ride, and functionality are unmatched.  The sport suspension is amazing, and in the twistys this car feels glued to the ground.  Bumps will also be noted, no help with the low-profile tires.  This car is european luxury, style, and taste done right.  Body proportions, comfortable cockpit, rear seats for two adults, ample trunk room, and meticulously trimmed in triple tan with silver accents.  Again - refer to pics. This A4 1.8T Cabriolet is of course a power folding convertible top, with silver-trimmed, amulet red rear-decklid.  Top is in excellent working condition.  Driver / Passenger 4-Way adjustable power seats with lumbar support.  Impressive 9-speaker stereo with Navigation / CD / DVD head unit producing 200+ W, with a powered sub-woofer in the car (buyer preference, can be removed in less than a minute) Upgrades include: In-Dash Pioneer (matching red lighted displays) 6.1" Widescreen WVGA, Bluetooth (Handsfree), Navigation, CD / DVD,  Touchscreen Display 19" Audi S4 Silver Polished Wheels Upgraded Silver Trim Interior (Dash Kit, Door Handles, Air Vents, Rear Arm Rests, etc.) Upgraded Sport Grille(s) All records, dealer-maintenance, etc.. are available for viewing.  Car comes with two remote key-fobs (folding key, unlock / lock, and trunk release) as well as an additional brand-new key (not programmed yet, I thought I lost one).  All manuals, Audi Emergency Kit, Full-size Spare tire, and Roadside hazard pack. Cons: Some door dings, wheel scrapes, leather folds etc.. due to normal wear and tear.  Certainly could be repaired. Rear window had seperated from rear glass and was repaired by convertible specialist - water tight, but a little unsightly in my opinion. Reason for Selling: A dreaded SUV is needed. 2016 Audi R18 whooshes around Sebring to test for WEC

Fri, Dec 11 2015

The 2016 Audi R18 is a radically different endurance racer than the model it replaces. The designers drape the chassis in an angular body rather than the previous curves, and the engineers added lithium-ion batteries for energy storage. Now, we get to see these big changes in motion thanks to a video of the new car testing at Sebring. Like previous iterations of Audi's diesel-fueled racers, the latest R18 is quiet around the track. It seems to sneak up on corners with just a whoosh and a whir from the powertrain. The updated design also looks a lot better in motion than in static photos. Audi had a rough time in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship after losing to rival Porsche both at Le Mans during the summer and in the manufacturers' standings at the end of the year. 2017 Audi A4 Deep Dive

Thu, Jul 16 2015

Unchanged. Plain. Boring. These words have been used to describe the new 2017 Audi A4, but they all miss the point entirely. Yes, the design of the new A4 is evolutionary, rather than a ground-up restyling. But as they say in ancient High German, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Of course, if you're at all interested in the 2017 Audi A4, you've probably read all about it in the official press release a few days ago. So we'll cut to the chase and tell you the bits you don't already know: the American-market details. We spent a day at Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt last week finding out the latest and poking around the A4 in the metal. The new A4 is wider, longer, and roomier than before. The lines are crisper and sharper, but yes, the proportions have remained very similar. That was done on purpose, thoughtfully. Not out of laziness. Stand any two sequential generations of Porsche 911 next to each other and you'll find they are rather similar. And yes, people do complain about that. But they also complain about the property tax rate on their third home in Monaco. That familiar-looking body gets a shockingly low coefficient of drag of just 0.23. The improvements in drag come from fine-tuning details down to the placement of the side mirror (now on the door, rather than the triangular window panel) and the contouring of the inner edge of the side mirror, which gets little vortex generating bumps to improve the turbulent airflow in that area, reducing drag. Attention to detail and refinement of a successful design – not boring, lazy repetition. Another notable departure in the styling of the new A4 is equally subtle, but even more significant from a precision manufacturing perspective: the hood has no cut lines on its upper surface. Instead, the hood now wraps around the tops of the fenders, the cut line integrating with the sharp crease that runs down the entire body side. The creation of this cut line requires extremely tight manufacturing tolerances to enable the precise alignment of the hood and fender gap with the stamped-in crease in the door panel; misalignment would be obvious and catastrophic to the clean, simple design's flow. Now, let's rip off this Band-Aid: no, we won't be getting the Avant. Why? Because no one buys it, vociferous vocalizations on the Internet aside.

Audi A3 E-Tron plug-in hybrid set to whiz into Geneva

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

The Audi A3 E-tron, which we drove in prototype form last year, is headed to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next month. The plug-in hybrid will feature a total of 204 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque from the combination of a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and a 75-kW electric motor. That motor itself is positioned between the internal combustion engine and the machine's six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The setup is good enough to scoot the A3 E-tron to 62 miles per hour in 7.6 seconds and crank out a top speed of 138 mph. Perhaps more impressively, the hatch can whir its way to 80 mph on all-electric power with an EV range of 31 miles.
Audi claims the A3 E-tron gives the world a "realistic glimpse into the future of mobility," so it's a bit unclear if the model will see production. We're encouraged by the specificity of Audi's press release (which is full of stats) and the fact that they don't label this vehicle a concept. You can check out the full press release below and judge for yourself.
