Excellent Driving Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce With 88k Original Miles No Reserve ! on 2040-cars
San Bruno, California, United States
Please give the photos time to load as they accurately portray the condition of the car. Car is being sold with NO RESERVE! Bid to own. If you have less than 5 feedbacks or negative feedback, please contact me before bidding so I know that you are a serious buyer and understand the terms of this auction. Up for auction is my 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce with 88k original miles. This car has a soul that a true Alfisti would appreciate. This is my fifth Spider and this one drives as well as any of them ever did. I bought it last winter and have done alot of small repairs and maintenance since then to improve the car. If you are looking for an inexpensive classic fun summer car that can be driven and enjoyed today, then this is your car. If you are looking for a garage queen or potential concours car, please pass on this one. This is more of a "carport" queen. A properly restored example would easily bring $15k so this will be a bargain for someone at no reserve! The best part about this car is the way that it drives. The engine is very quiet and tight. No exhaust leaks, no funny noises. Once warmed up, the engine just sings as you go through the gears. The clutch is excellent and the synchronizers are better than they usually are. If you know how to drive these cars and shift smoothly, there will be no grinding. Drive it like a Nissan and you will have problems. Brakes, steering and suspension all feel good. Tires have less than 3000 miles on them. The paint has many scratches, chips, cracks, checking, touch-ups, etc. A picky person might want to paint it. But some might enjoy the patina and worry less when they park. But it is The interior is all original and in good shape for its age. I soaked the leather seats in mink oil for three days to help preserve them. The driver's seat has a couple of cracks in the bottom and a small hole in the vinyl bottom side panel. The passenger seat has a couple of cracks in the bottom. Dashboard has no cracks. All instruments work, dash lights do not( I have not checked this out, could be simple). Carpets are in nice shape. Vent window locks are not on. I have the right one, can get the left on ebay for about $25. Power windows work fine but at a snail's pace. Car has AC, it's all there and the compressor is free but it doesn't work. Ashtray is missing. Has Blaupunkt CD player that works fine through one speaker. There is a full size spare and factory jack with tool pouch. The previous owner did regular repairs and maintenance over a 11 year period, but only drove it about 2,000 miles during that time. I have a stack of records. I also installed a new Kirkland battery about a month ago. I know many will ask, "Can I drive this car home to _________? That depends on your experience and abilities. Personally, I could get in the car now and drive to Florida and I would probably make it without any serious incident. But I have alot of experience with this type of thing. Mechanically, this car seems really solid and should be fine with judicious driving and a watchful eye. But please remember the car is 28 years old, so if you are not comfortable with the idea of (mis)adventure on the road then I would be happy to help arrange shipping. I have the clean California title signed by the previous owner. The registration expired 1-3-14. I am selling the car as is and the buyer will be responsible for any tax, tag, title or smog fees. Car did pass its last smog check. That being said, to encourage bidders who are paying cash and are from California, I will refund $100 to help offset these costs. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE: This is a NO RESERVE auction, high bid wins. You are bidding to OWN the car, not the right to inspect it. Car is sold AS-IS, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. $500 NON REFUNDABLE PAYPAL deposit to be paid by buyer within 24 hours of auction's end. Full payment required within 7 days, no exceptions. Payment methods for balance are cash in person, bank transfer, USPS Money orders, verified cashiers check. Title and vehicle will be released when payment has cleared. Vehicle to be picked up within 14 days of auction's end unless prior arrangements are made.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio caught hiding under ugly black camouflage
Fri, Apr 8 2016The vehicle you see here, bedecked as it is in camo-shaped warts and baubles, is the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Behind all that ungainly black plastic hides a jacked-up crossover based on the bones of the upcoming Gulia sedan, which, painfully, we're still waiting to officially launch. Suffice it to say that we're not expecting to see a production version of the Stelvio until much later in 2016. Up front, the well-established rounded-triangle grille that marks the Alfa Romeo marque comes through loud and clear... though it looks a little bit sickly covered in all that cladding. We're sure it'll be appropriately prettied up for production, and we're equally certain the slit-like headlamp cutouts are hiding stylish swept-back lighting units. We can't make out much of the Stelvio's bodysides, but we see some nicely aggressive rolling stock to go along with what appears to be a pretty steeply raked greenhouse. View 10 Photos That incongruously shaped chunk hanging off the back glass was likely tacked on to hide the shape of the actual tailgate, and perhaps there are some sensors or computers hanging around inside the box to feed more data to engineers. There's no telling what's powering this Stelvio mule, but it could be a version of the 2.9-liter, 505-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 that we can't wait to sample in the Guilia Quadrifoglio Verde. For production, expect four- and six-cylinder options, in both gasoline and diesel flavors, depending on where the car is sold. We can clearly see the Stelvio is out on the road, generating test miles ahead of a hoped-for release in early 2017. The next logical question, then, is this: Will Alfa Romeo actually launch the Stelvio on time? Chrysler earns $1.7B in 2012, revises product plans for US
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Hot on the heels of Ford's earnings announcement for the year that was, Chrysler today reported a 2012 net income of $1.7 billion, up substantially from the comparatively minuscule $183 million profit earned in 2011 when it repaid its US government loans.
Chrysler's good year ended with an excellent fourth quarter that saw net income rise 68 percent from $225 million in 2011 to $378 million. Where are all those extra earnings coming from? Market share, which Chrysler saw increase to 11.4% last year on sales of 1.65 million vehicles. In fact, the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker out-paced the industry's market growth of 13 percent last year with sales up 21 percent for the year.
The company also revealed an updated product plan for its Chrysler Group and Fiat brands that looks all the way out to 2016. It's an updated version of the plan introduced in 2009 shortly after Fiat took control of the American automaker, and includes such new additions as an Alfa Romeo model, likely the 4C, to be introduced in the US this year, as well five more Alfa models by 2016. Likewise, Fiat will be growing by an additional seven models in the coming few years.
Alfa Romeo Milano EV teased in camo ahead of April reveal
Wed, Jan 24 2024The Alfa Romeo Milano is officially set to be revealed on April 10 this year as the Italian company’s first fully-electric vehicle. In addition to a reveal date, AlfaÂ’s given us some photos to pore over and get an idea of what the Milano will look like when the wrappings are taken off. For starters, though, donÂ’t get too excited about the prospect of buying one. The Milano is expected to be sold in Europe and perhaps other international markets, but not in the U.S. ItÂ’s said to be related to the Jeep Avenger, which is another small EV we donÂ’t get on this side of the pond. Just like the Avenger, the Milano is a small subcompact crossover that appears to be one size smaller than the Tonale, which is sold here. Alfa promises that itÂ’s taking this project just as seriously as any from a dynamics perspective, though, touting that engineers from projects like the 4C, 8C and Giulia/Stelvio Quadrifoglio are ensuring the Milano lives up to AlfaÂ’s high standards through testing at its Balocco test track. If we ever get to drive it, weÂ’ll be sure to test AlfaÂ’s claims that it will be the best in its class for dynamics and handling. As for the design, the Milano is a stubby little SUV with what appears to be a fairly strongly raked rear window. The camo in front only does so much to cover up AlfaÂ’s traditionally triangular trefoil grille. Its wheel and tire package is shockingly big for such a small vehicle as it wears massive 20-inch wheels wrapped in low-profile Michelin Pilot Sport EV performance tires. Despite the Milano launching as an EV, itÂ’s expected to offer gasoline variants, too. We analyze the possible powertrain options in our most recent report about the Milano, but all of our questions should be answered in April this year, so stay tuned for news on the first electric Alfa.
