Relisting for lower price!
I bought my Spider in 1994 from a dentist in Scottsdale, AZ. I have owned it for nearly twenty years and am only the third owner. This Spider was in superb condition when I bought it, and it is in better condition today. It has been carefully driven regularly. It has always been garaged. I lived in the Phoenix area for the first fourteen years of my ownership and in Dallas for the last five years - - NO RUST! Two months ago, I was transferred to the LA area and am forced to sell due to garage space limitations. I have taken exquisite care of it, investing in long term mechanical and aesthetic restorations. I have personally overseen all phases of its care, having it serviced exclusively by handpicked Alfa Romeo specialists. No expenses were spared to maintain it in the condition it was when it left the factory. I never cut corners in the maintenance and restoration and never hesitated to pay top dollar for all parts and services. For twenty years, it has been “my baby.” I have all service receipts since 1994, and the original owner’s manual. This low-miles Spider is an EXTREMELY rare find in this condition, in absolutely top shape (both in appearance and mechanical), an Alfa that has been lovingly cared for, and always returned to my fully-enclosed garage. This car is a true “gem.” Small touches enhance an older, sought-after car to an outstanding classic machine, and this is it. This is an exceptional find, an '84 Alfa that has been METICULOUSLY maintained, cared for, zealously serviced, regularly driven and enjoyed, but protected over the years from the elements. Here are some small touches: Waxed at least quarterly with Zaino Show Car Polish products (whether it needed it or not!). Interior leather cleaned and treated quarterly. The fine engine starts instantly, cold or hot. Shifts smooth as silk. Though not required, premium gas was always used. Engine always allowed to warm up before driving. In 2012/2013, the following mechanical, maintenance, and preventive maintenance services were performed by Alfa Romeo experts. As both the car and I got older, I decided not to wait for things to wear out due to age. Maintenance and preventive maintenance performed 2012/2013: New Water Pump New Fuel Hoses/Clamps (all) New Oil Pan Gasket New Differential Pan Gasket New Driveshaft Flex Coupling New Valve Cover Gaskets New Cam Cover Plug/Washer New Brake Hoses (all) New Radiator Hoses (all) New Engine Coolant Thermostat New Engine Vacuum Hoses/Clamps (all) New Bosch Fuel System Relays (all) New Exhaust System (manifold to tailpipe including new catalytic converter and muffler) New Fuel Filter New Oil Filter New Fuel Pump Mount New Air Conditioning System – old system virtually replaced. Updated Alfa Romeo Tonale possibly caught camo-free during design clinic
Tue, Oct 8 2019Amateur spy shots taken during what looks like a design clinic held behind closed doors have shed light on how Alfa Romeo's Tonale concept is evolving on its way to production. They suggest the design study presented during the 2019 Geneva auto show wasn't as close to done as many thought. The photos were posted on an Italian enthusiast forum and quickly taken down, but they were saved and published by an Instagram user named CocheSpias. Alfa Romeo did not distribute them on its official channels, so we can't be 100 percent certain about their authenticity. Assuming they're the real deal, they reveal the Tonale has mellowed out considerably since it first showed its nose in Geneva. The headlights are bigger in nearly every direction, they're less bionic-looking, and they're separated from the grille by smaller, recessed air vents. It's a look that's very loosely reminiscent of some of the company's classic models, like the Giulia Sprint GT. Stylists also re-shaped the hood.      View this post on Instagram          Aqui os dejamos unas fotos de una de las maquetas pre-produccion del futuro SUV de Alfa Romeo. El Tonale. #alfaromeo #alfaromeotonale #alfaromeosuv #alfasuv #prototype #carspy #carscoop #carshot #fotoespia #instacar #spyshot #newcar #carporn #carpassion #instapic #carpic A post shared by CocheSpias (@cochespias) on Oct 8, 2019 at 1:04am PDT The profile and the overall proportions don't appear to drastically change. The rear door handles remain integrated into the C-pillar to give the Tonale a two-door look, a styling cue also seen on the Giulietta sold in Europe. The rear lights are bigger, though they're still connected by a light bar. The emblem on the hatch confirms Alfa Romeo hasn't changed its mind about the crossover's name. The user who posted the photos from the design clinic explained he wasn't given permission to upload images of the interior. He reported the Tonale's steering wheel looks a lot like the Giulia's, and the dashboard receives the same blend of round and rectangular air vents. The infotainment system's touchscreen is propped up on the dashboard rather than neatly integrated into the center stack, a layout which makes it easier to change during a mid-cycle update, or as tech advances. Mechanical specifications remain under wraps. Alfa didn't have much to say about the concept, either, but we know it used a gasoline-electric plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Fiat reconsidering Mazda-based Alfa Romeo roadster? [w/poll]
Mon, 03 Mar 2014Alfa giveth and Alfa taketh away. With apologies to Job (he has gone through a lot, after all), that's how things are looking at the Italian automaker - whether it's the promise of new products or its impending return to the North American market. But it's especially true when it comes to new roadsters.
While Alfa Romeo is expected to unveil the 4C Spider at the Geneva Motor Show this week, reports are now suggesting that its other roadster project is being called into question. That project is a joint venture between Fiat and Mazda, which was set to produce a version of its next MX-5 Miata as an Alfa Romeo, and was even changing the design to accommodate Alfa's requirements.
Now it appears, however, that the whole project in doubt. The problem seems to stem from Sergio Marchionne's pronouncements that, as long as he's in charge, there won't be an Alfa Romeo built outside of Italy.
Alfa Romeo considering Ferrari-developed engines for new product lineup
Sun, 06 Apr 2014A report in Bloomberg adds more details to the plans for Alfa Romeo's fourth turnaround plan in Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's tenure, and this time Ferrari is apparently going to be part of the show. In December Automotive News Europe reported that a new Maserati-derived rear-drive architecture would be the centerpiece at Alfa Romeo, as well as coming Chrysler and Dodge products. At the time, ANE said the platform would support a new midsize sedan and wagon perhaps to be called Giulia, a fullsize sedan and a midsize crossover, with retail appearance of the product initiative commencing perhaps as soon as next year. It would be part of Fiat's $12.3-billion spend on new models and European recovery.
The Bloomberg report says that particulars haven't been finalized, but the plan is to have six new Alfas appear over the next five years, two of which would be SUVs. The futures of the Mito and Giulietta, two of the three cars Alfa currently sells and 99 percent of sales last year, aren't assured, meaning that the lineup in six years could be seven cars (including the 4C), six of which we haven't any definitive clue of yet. The top-tier versions of those cars, according to the report - perhaps the Quadrifoglio Verde - "will be equipped with motors developed by Ferrari."
Marchionne wants to get sales up to 300,000 units per year when the lineup is complete, pairing Alfa sales with Jeep's global dealer network to open up the retail channel. That kind of volume would get Fiat's Italian plants back in business properly, even though Marchionne's stance on Italy-only Alfa production would mean the end of the anticipated roadster that was to be twinned with the coming Mazda MX-5 Miata. Alfa's direction will be laid out in Detroit in May as part of the overall strategy presentation for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.
