Passenger side door lock cylinder is broken (Owner will try to fix prior to sale). "Trying to Fix" means "if parts are immediately available" (these are all minor, relatively inexpensive repairs/parts fortunately). Basically, 99% of the car is mint....the above 1% are simple fixes, general wear-and-tear stuff for New York City year 'round, garaged cars. Through visiblity in the hit movie; pre-release trailers/continuing high-visiblity marketing; and the worldwide internet media coverage; this Alfa Romeo has garnered at least 100 million visible impressions worldwide - - and counting (all numbers are 100% quantifiable). This Quadrifoglio was filmed in Fall, 2012 in scenes starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Jon Bernthal (see pix) at locations on Wall Street, Westchester NY and Northern New Jersey. Alfa Romeo shows off Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior special editions
Tue, Oct 19 2021Alfa Romeo has announced a pair of new special editions commemorating the 1966 GT 1300 Junior. The Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior series are only available in Europe, and were inspired by the beloved predecessor to the legendary GTV. The Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior was part of a larger series of coupes from the 105 and 115 family. Built on a shortened Giulia chassis of the same era, lightweight aluminum-bodied GTAs and GTVs became a force in road racing, as well as GTC cabriolets and versions modified by carrozzerias. Possessing all the style of the Giugiaro-penned top-spec versions but with a less powerful engine and more affordable price tag, the GT 1300 Junior was by far the best seller of the range. It was a bona fide hit, and Alfa Romeo moved over 90,000 units from 1966-76. As the name suggests, the GT 1300 Junior had a 1.3 liter four-banger. Its 89 horsepower was delivered through a five-speed manual to the rear wheels. Weighing only a little over 2,000 pounds, its excellent handling helped make it an iconic model for the Alfa Romeo brand. To evoke the GT 1300 Junior, the Giulia and Stelvio have been dipped in an exclusive gold color called Lipari Ochre, a modern take on one of the GT 1300 Junior's most memorable hues. Both modern Alfas come with five-hole wheels, 19 inches on the Giulia and 21 inches on the Stelvio. There are no performance modifications to either vehicle. The Giulia and Stelvio come with either a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine making 210 horsepower or a petrol 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder generating 280 horsepower. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic via a carbon-fiber driveshaft. The Giulia can be optioned with a rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive drivetrain, while the Stelvio comes only in AWD flavor. Alfa Romeo says the GT Junior editions are the third in a trilogy of special editions that began with the 500-unit and wildly be-spoilered Giulia GTAm that debuted in May. That sold out almost immediately, and was followed by 6C Villa d’Este editions of the Giulia and Stelvio paying homage to 1949 6C 2500 SS. The company hasn't said how many units of the GT Junior will be sold, but they won't be coming to the U.S. anyway. Related video:
Italy forces Alfa Romeo Milano name change — call it Junior now
Mon, Apr 15 2024The Alfa Romeo Milano is no more, and in its place lies the Alfa Romeo Junior. This tiny Alfa crossover – that wonÂ’t be sold in the U.S. – was only revealed just last week, but Alfa has already been forced to change the name at the request of the Italian government. WhyÂ’s Italy telling its beloved Alfa Romeo brand it canÂ’t use the “Milano” name? It comes down to where the car is being built, and the Milano/Junior will be built at AlfaÂ’s plant in Tychy, Poland. According to ItalyÂ’s Industry Minister, Adolfo Urso, “A car called Milano cannot be produced in Poland. This is against the law.” Said law aims to stop the sale of products that have Italian-sounding names but are not actually produced in Italy. "This law stipulates that you cannot give indications that mislead consumers,” Urso continued. “So a car called Milano must be produced in Italy. Otherwise, it gives a misleading indication which is not allowed under Italian law." Alfa Romeo sent out a press release today in response to the government criticism, agreeing to change the MilanoÂ’s name to Junior. That said, Alfa had plenty to say and still believes the Milano name to be a lawful one. “Despite Alfa Romeo believing that the name met all legal requirements and that there are issues much more important than the name of a new car, Alfa Romeo has decided to change it from “Milano” to “Alfa Romeo Junior” in the spirit of promoting mutual understanding,” the companyÂ’s statement reads. “The Alfa Romeo team would like to thank the public for the positive feedback, the Italian dealer network for their support, journalists for the enormous media attention given to the new car, and the government for the free publicity brought on by this debate." The name Milano was actually chosen through feedback from the public, as Alfa polled ItalyÂ’s citizens on what it believed the little SUV should be called. “Milano” was the winning name, and it makes a whole lot of sense considering AlfaÂ’s history began in Milan, Italy. Of course, “Junior” speaks to AlfaÂ’s history, as well, harkening back to 1966 with the Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior. Course, none of this has much of an impact for what weÂ’ll see on Alfa Romeo lots in the U.S., as the Junior wonÂ’t be sold here. Baby Jeep to join Renegade in FCA's plan for new Italian-built models
Tue, Nov 27 2018FCA is boosting its European production, introducing new models that will be built in currently under-utilized manufacturing facilities. Among the new models is a new small Jeep, smaller than the current Renegade, as Automotive News reports. FCA's Mike Manley mentioned the entry-level Jeep model earlier this year, also saying that the vehicle is targeted to European and possibly Latin American customers; in the summer, Autocar placed the launch date in 2022. The new "baby" Jeep would be made in the same factory in Pomigliano, Italy, as the small Fiat Panda, which is a top seller in Italy. The current generation Panda was introduced in 2011; if it gets a replacement in 2022, it could possibly share a platform with the Jeep model — or, the Jeep could be an eventual outright replacement for the Panda. One of Fiat's earlier core products, the Punto hatchback, was canned in August, and that production capacity will be used to make the Jeep Compass instead, at the Renegade-producing Melfi factory in southern Italy. The Compass has not previously been built in Europe. The Fiat model portfolio would be shrunk to just the 500 model family and the Panda — the 500 would also be FCA's key electric vehicle offered in Europe. It is not yet clear whether the electric 500 would be made in Turin, Italy, or in Poland; Turin might also get a Giardiniera-badged wagon version of the refreshed 500. As for the Alfa Romeo brand, it is set to gain an even bigger SUV model than the Stelvio, based on the Maserati Levante's platform. The Levante's sales have suffered recently in China, but Maserati does have light in the horizon: The Alfieri 2+2 grand tourer is still in the cards, with a launch expected for 2020 and both a convertible and an electrified version planned to follow. The Alfieri would be made in Modena, Italy, according to Automotive News' sources. None of these plans namedrop the storied Lancia brand, which has been shrunk to just the Ypsilon hatchback, based on the same platform as the current 500 and Panda. Despite that, the Ypsilon was again the second-bestselling car in Italy after the Panda in October. It is unlikely that FCA will be able to ignore this, but it is just as unlikely that any development money will be afforded to come up with a replacement for the Ypsilon, which is as similarly old as the Panda. Perhaps official announcements expected on Thursday will also clarify what will happen to Lancia.
