Please give the photos time to load as they accurately portray the condition of the car. Car is being sold with NO RESERVE! Bid to own. If you have less than 5 feedbacks or negative feedback, please contact me before bidding so I know that you are a serious buyer and understand the terms of this auction.

Up for auction is my 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce with 88k original miles. This car has a soul that a true Alfisti would appreciate. This is my fifth Spider and this one drives as well as any of them ever did. I bought it last winter and have done alot of small repairs and maintenance since then to improve the car. If you are looking for an inexpensive classic fun summer car that can be driven and enjoyed today, then this is your car. If you are looking for a garage queen or potential concours car, please pass on this one. This is more of a "carport" queen. A properly restored example would easily bring $15k so this will be a bargain for someone at no reserve!

The best part about this car is the way that it drives. The engine is very quiet and tight. No exhaust leaks, no funny noises. Once warmed up, the engine just sings as you go through the gears. The clutch is excellent and the synchronizers are better than they usually are. If you know how to drive these cars and shift smoothly, there will be no grinding. Drive it like a Nissan and you will have problems. Brakes, steering and suspension all feel good. Tires have less than 3000 miles on them.

The paint has many scratches, chips, cracks, checking, touch-ups, etc. A picky person might want to paint it. But some might enjoy the patina and worry less when they park. But it is
very presentable driver and looks good at 20 feet. This is a solid California car and the body and undercarriage are rust free. The only place I could find any rust through was in the spare tire well (pictured). It has been treated to prevent further spread. The tire well panel is available cheap if you wanted to replace it. I think water was getting in the holes where the trim panel under the license plate should be, but is missing. I put black duct tape over the 3 holes for now and nobody has noticed it is missing. The nose has been bumped at some point and I could see some straightening has been done to the core support. There is also some surface rust on the upper inner nose panel (see underhood pics) that I didn't get around to treating. The right headlight ring flew off when I drove home from taking the pictures. If I can get one before auction's end I will update the listing but for now I don't have it and it's not included. The top is in good condition and the rear window is very clear. I spent considerable time making sure all the exterior lighting works. It all does except I couldn't figure out the rear fog lights.

The interior is all original and in good shape for its age. I soaked the leather seats in mink oil for three days to help preserve them. The driver's seat has a couple of cracks in the bottom and a small hole in the vinyl bottom side panel. The passenger seat has a couple of cracks in the bottom. Dashboard has no cracks. All instruments work, dash lights do not( I have not checked this out, could be simple). Carpets are in nice shape. Vent window locks are not on. I have the right one, can get the left on ebay for about $25. Power windows work fine but at a snail's pace. Car has AC, it's all there and the compressor is free but it doesn't work. Ashtray is missing. Has Blaupunkt CD player that works fine through one speaker. There is a full size spare and factory jack with tool pouch.

The previous owner did regular repairs and maintenance over a 11 year period, but only drove it about 2,000 miles during that time. I have a stack of records. I also installed a new Kirkland battery about a month ago.

I know many will ask, "Can I drive this car home to _________? That depends on your experience and abilities. Personally, I could get in the car now and drive to Florida and I would probably make it without any serious incident. But I have alot of experience with this type of thing. Mechanically, this car seems really solid and should be fine with judicious driving and a watchful eye. But please remember the car is 28 years old, so if you are not comfortable with the idea of (mis)adventure on the road then I would be happy to help arrange shipping.

I have the clean California title signed by the previous owner. The registration expired 1-3-14. I am selling the car as is and the buyer will be responsible for any tax, tag, title or smog fees. Car did pass its last smog check. That being said, to encourage bidders who are paying cash and are from California, I will refund $100 to help offset these costs.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE: This is a NO RESERVE auction, high bid wins. You are bidding to OWN the car, not the right to inspect it. Car is sold AS-IS, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. $500 NON REFUNDABLE PAYPAL deposit to be paid by buyer within 24 hours of auction's end. Full payment required within 7 days, no exceptions. Payment methods for balance are cash in person, bank transfer, USPS Money orders, verified cashiers check. Title and vehicle will be released when payment has cleared. Vehicle to be picked up within 14 days of auction's end unless prior arrangements are made.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia starts at $38,990, or $73,595 for the Quadrifoglio

Thu, Dec 8 2016

Although the 4C has been on sale for more than a year, Alfa Romeo's US comeback tour really starts with the all-new Giulia. The car goes on sale this month and is expected to compete head to head with sport sedan competition from Germany, England, Japan, and America. The automaker released details on Giulia trims and pricing, and it appears to be right in the mix with the competition. The new Alfa Romeo Giulia starts at $38,990 with destination. While that's on the high side of its class, it's still right in the mix. All of the competition falls between the $34,445 BMW 3-Series and the $40,425 Mercedes-Benz C300. Where the Giulia really shines at this price point is performance, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that generates 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. Alfa claims a 5.1 second 0-60 mph time for the base model, which trounces the competition. The big bad Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio starts at $73,595 with destination. That's quite a bit more than the BMW M3 and Cadillac ATS-V, but it's right on par with the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Sedan. The four-leaf clover has a 2.9-liter biturbo V6 that turns out 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. That's good for a 3.8 second 0-60 mph and a record-setting 7:32 Nurburgring lap time, if you care about such things. The standard Giulia and Giulia Ti ($40,990) are available with FCA's Q4 all-wheel-drive system for an extra $2,000. The Giulia Ti is available with Ti Lusso and Ti Sport packages for $2,250 each. Think of the Ti Sport as the Quadrifoglio light and the Ti Lusso as the comfortable and relaxed model. All versions of the Giulia come equipped with an 8-speed automatic, and Alfa Romeo currently has no plans to offer a stick shift in the US. The Giulia Quadrifoglio goes on sale this month, with the rest of the lineup hitting showrooms next month. If shoppers can look through the vast competition for what on paper is the sportiest of small sport sedans on the market, Alfa may be here to stay. Related Video:

Planned Alfa Romeo 8C and GTV don't appear to have a future anymore

Fri, Nov 1 2019

The two Alfa Romeos we’ve been looking forward to most donÂ’t appear to have much of a future anymore, according to a report from Automobile. Both the 8C and GTV no longer exist on AlfaÂ’s product roadmap, and Mike Manley suggested they were canned, as well. “In the near term, the new portfolio for the brand is significantly scaled back with a corresponding reduction in capital spending,” Manley said, referring to Alfa Romeo in the companyÂ’s third-quarter earnings call. We've asked FCA if it can explicitly confirm anything on the 8C and GTV, but it offered no comment on the report. Additionally, FCAÂ’s presentation (uncovered by Motor1) of future Alfa Romeo vehicles left the 8C and GTV off the list. The only new cars planned for the future include a production version of the Tonale crossover and another unnamed crossover. FCAÂ’s presentation also states: “brand to focus on current market strengths with reduced global reach and overlap with other Group brands.” We all know that the strength of the market is in crossovers right now, so itÂ’s easy to infer what happens from there. Expensive, luxury sports cars are not where the scale and money is at for Alfa Romeo, a brand that isnÂ’t exactly thriving from a sales perspective today. Sales for both the Stelvio and Giulia are down in 2019 as those cars exit their honeymoon phase. Alfa is expected to have a midcycle refresh ready for consumption in 2021, so perhaps that could provide a temporary boost in sales for the Italian brand. FCA also said itÂ’s reducing planned capital spending on Alfa Romeo, which could hurt the brand even more in the future. This earnings call came the same day that the FCA-PSA merger was announced, throwing another wrench into the plan. WeÂ’re not yet sure what the merger will mean for Alfa Romeo and its presence in America, but we imagine more news on that will be coming as the companies transition to this new life together. The Giorgio platform appears to be safe for the time being, as Manley expressed his intentions to keep it around. This platform (underpinning both the Giulia and Stelvio) was developed with electrification of the powertrain in mind, so itÂ’ll be capable of handling a number of electrification efforts in FCAÂ’s future. We only wish the promising 8C and GTV wouldÂ’ve made it to production, but even Alfa appears to be thinning the herd of cars in favor of crossovers.

Robert Kubica moves from Williams to Alfa Romeo F1 reserve

Sun, Jan 5 2020

LONDON — Robert Kubica has joined Alfa Romeo as their 2020 reserve driver, the role the Pole carried out 14 years ago when he made his Formula One debut with the Swiss-based team then known as BMW Sauber. The deal announced on Wednesday also sees Polish oil company PKN ORLEN, who backed the 35-year-old's comeback last season at former champions Williams, become a co-title sponsor of the team in a multi-year partnership. Kubica's big break came in 2006 when he became Poland's first F1 racer, replacing Canada's 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve at BMW Sauber and going on to win with them at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. The Pole, who suffered a near-fatal rally accident in 2011 that partially severed his right arm, scored tail-enders Williams' only point last year in a remarkable personal comeback clouded by the team's inability to provide a competitive car. He announced in September that he was leaving and has since been replaced by Canadian Nicholas Latifi, the team's 2019 reserve. "I'm starting a new chapter in my career by joining Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN. This is a team that has a special place in my heart and it'll be nice to see the familiar faces I still remember from Hinwil," said Kubica in a statement. "Time and circumstances are obviously different, but I am convinced that I will find the same determination and hunger to succeed." Kubica had also been linked to the Haas and Racing Point teams who had considered him for a role as a tester and simulator driver. Ferrari-powered Alfa Romeo's race drivers this year are Finland's 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen and Italian Antonio Giovinazzi, an unchanged lineup from 2019. Team principal Frederic Vasseur welcomed Kubica, who before his accident raced for Renault and was close to becoming a Ferrari driver, back to the Hinwil factory. "He is a driver that needs no introduction: one of the most brilliant in his generation and one who displayed the true meaning of human determination in his fight to return to racing after his rallying accident," he said. "His feedback will be invaluable as we continue to push our team towards the front of the grid." Alfa Romeo finished last season in eighth place with 57 points. The team said PKN ORLEN branding will feature on the C39 car and all "trackside assets". Related Video:
