Relisting for lower price!
I bought my Spider in 1994 from a dentist in Scottsdale, AZ. I have owned it for nearly twenty years and am only the third owner. This Spider was in superb condition when I bought it, and it is in better condition today. It has been carefully driven regularly. It has always been garaged. I lived in the Phoenix area for the first fourteen years of my ownership and in Dallas for the last five years - - NO RUST! Two months ago, I was transferred to the LA area and am forced to sell due to garage space limitations. I have taken exquisite care of it, investing in long term mechanical and aesthetic restorations. I have personally overseen all phases of its care, having it serviced exclusively by handpicked Alfa Romeo specialists. No expenses were spared to maintain it in the condition it was when it left the factory. I never cut corners in the maintenance and restoration and never hesitated to pay top dollar for all parts and services. For twenty years, it has been “my baby.” I have all service receipts since 1994, and the original owner’s manual. This low-miles Spider is an EXTREMELY rare find in this condition, in absolutely top shape (both in appearance and mechanical), an Alfa that has been lovingly cared for, and always returned to my fully-enclosed garage. This car is a true “gem.” Small touches enhance an older, sought-after car to an outstanding classic machine, and this is it. This is an exceptional find, an '84 Alfa that has been METICULOUSLY maintained, cared for, zealously serviced, regularly driven and enjoyed, but protected over the years from the elements. Here are some small touches: Waxed at least quarterly with Zaino Show Car Polish products (whether it needed it or not!). Interior leather cleaned and treated quarterly. The fine engine starts instantly, cold or hot. Shifts smooth as silk. Though not required, premium gas was always used. Engine always allowed to warm up before driving. In 2012/2013, the following mechanical, maintenance, and preventive maintenance services were performed by Alfa Romeo experts. As both the car and I got older, I decided not to wait for things to wear out due to age. Maintenance and preventive maintenance performed 2012/2013: New Water Pump New Fuel Hoses/Clamps (all) New Oil Pan Gasket New Differential Pan Gasket New Driveshaft Flex Coupling New Valve Cover Gaskets New Cam Cover Plug/Washer New Brake Hoses (all) New Radiator Hoses (all) New Engine Coolant Thermostat New Engine Vacuum Hoses/Clamps (all) New Bosch Fuel System Relays (all) New Exhaust System (manifold to tailpipe including new catalytic converter and muffler) New Fuel Filter New Oil Filter New Fuel Pump Mount New Air Conditioning System – old system virtually replaced. [ALL NEW PARTS: condenser, condenser fan (electric), compressor, compressor clutch, dryer bottle, expansion valve, interior evaporator/blower unit, control knob/thermostat, all hoses, O-rings, and gaskets] New Heater Core New Heater Valve New Heater Hoses (all) New Brake Compensator New Brake Master Cylinder New Rotor, Distributor Cap, and Spark Plug Wires New Fuel Pumps (both in-tank and primary) New In-Tank Fuel Strainer New Oxygen Sensor New Head Gasket New Fuel Injectors (all four) New Fuel Injector Gaskets New Fuel Rail-Injector Hoses New Radiator Bushings New Fuel Rail Mount Other Mechanical Services 2012: Radiator Removal and Cleaning Clean/Treat Bosch Fuel Injection Electrical Connections and Relays Clean/Treat Intake Airflow Sensor Rebuild Idler Arm The following maintenance and preventive maintenance services were performed in the past 5-15 years: BOSCH L-JETRONIC Fuel Management System Sensors and Components: New Fuel Pressure Regulator New Auxiliary Air Valve New Bosch Connector Plugs (2) New Bosch Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Front-End A-Frame Zerk fittings New Ignition Coil Rebuild Alternator New Ignition Switch New Clutch New Oil Pressure Sender New Motor Mounts New Idle Speed Control Washer New Dashboard New Center Console New Adjustable Front-End Control Arms New Hazard Light Switch New Speedometer Cable New Oil Drain Plug Rebuilt Windshield Wiper Motor New Windshield Washer Pump and Hoses New Convertible Top New Wooden Shift Knob Other Maintenance and preventive maintenance services (past 5-15 years): Transmission Overhaul Hydraulic Clutch Cylinder Rebuild Engine Head Overhaul (new valves, guides, seals...) Tachometer Gauge Removed, Repaired and Reinstalled Speedometer Gauge Removed, Cleaned, Oiled, Tested, Reinstalled Power Window Mechanisms Cleaned/Lubricated (both doors) New Exterior Paint (original Spider factory color) New Interior Leather (all seats and doorsills) This is truly an outstanding opportunity -- the right car for a lucky buyer. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. Thank you. -J. |

2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio is like a taller, more practical Giulia
Wed, Nov 16 2016With the Giulia on its way to dealers in the coming months, Alfa Romeo's third current model for the US market is close behind. The 2018 Stelvio will give the company an offering in the ever-popular crossover SUV segment, and should bring Alfa's signature style and driving dynamics to the party. On paper, the Stelvio seems capable of delivering on classic Alfa fun. For starters it shares engines with the Giulia sedan, starting with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the standard Stelvio and Stelvio Ti models making 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque. Alfa will offer a Quadrifoglio model as well, which has the same twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 as the Giulia Quadrifoglio that pumps out 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. The company claims that the Stelvio Quadrifoglio will get to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, just a tenth behind the Giulia. View 11 Photos Regardless of trim level, every Stelvio sends power through an 8-speed automatic transmission connected to Alfa's Q4 all-wheel-drive system. A mechanical limited-slip rear differential is available, and the Quadrifoglio adds a torque-vectoring rear differential. The drivetrain propels an aluminum-intensive chassis. The doors, fenders, front and rear frame assemblies, and various suspension components are all made of the lightweight metal, contributing to a near 50/50 weight distribution front and rear. Suspension is independent all the way around, and the Quadrifoglio gets a sportier, adaptive version. Styling-wise, the Stelvio also lives up to the Giulia. In fact, it looks more or less like a tall Giulia wagon. The front fascia is roughly the same, just with a taller center grille and slightly more swept back lower sides. The slope of the nose is much less raked, too. The character lines along the flanks and even the rear bumper are all very similar to the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The one part that isn't as successful, though, is the tail end. It appears Alfa tried to give the Stelvio a gently sloping hatch, but the result is a bulbous backside with lot of sheet metal. Inside, the Stelvio again echoes its sedan sibling, though in this case the top of the dash peaks above the center screen and slopes down to the right vent. In the Giulia, the top of the dash drops down immediately from the gauge cluster, and only rises again at the right vent. Speaking of gauges, the Stelvio features a 7-inch screen nestled between the tach and speedometer, the latter reading up to 200 mph in the Quadrifoglio.
Alfa Romeo to launch new versions of 4C each year
Mon, Mar 24 2014Alfa Romeo is an exciting brand. You could argue that the MiTo and Giulietta hatchbacks might not speak so much to that effect, but the 4C sure does. Fortunately, Alfa has every intention of keeping the 4C at the forefront of its lineup with a series of upgrades – one to come each year, according to Top Gear. The production version of the compact mid-engined sports car launched just last year at the Geneva Motor Show, and this year the company returned with the 4C Spider concept that previews the production roadster to follow. That may prove the most substantial of the revisions Alfa has in mind for the 4C, but it may not be the last. Just what Alfa will do next remains to be seen, but sources are already speculating on what could follow. Since the current 4C is a bare-bones affair – with a minimalist cabin and no trunk to speak of with the front hood welded shut – we're wouldn't be surprised to see a slightly more accommodating version follow. After that, it's anyone's guess. Top Gear suggests a more hardcore version – it sure would be exciting to see the Quadrifoglio Verde adorn a more powerful 4C in the future. But we're still years off from seeing any such derivative come to fruition, so we'll just have to hold on tight for the time being and wait for Alfa to finally bring itself and the 4C to American showrooms. This Alfa Romeo Giulia shows why its owner scored a job at Singer Vehicle Design
Thu, Jan 15 2015The original Giulia may not have been the most beautiful Alfa Romeo ever built, but it was one of the coolest. It was built at two different locations in Milan from 1962 through 1978, and as squared-off as it is, it still has an enduring sense of style. No wonder Alfa is planning on reviving the nameplate, just as it did with the Giulietta. It's just the kind of car that a video series like Petrolicious was born to profile, and that's why it's the subject of this latest episode. This particular 1970 Giulia 1300 Ti belongs to one Dorian Valenzuela, who bought it on Craigslist and modified it just the way he wanted – and to beautiful effect, we might add. In fact, we weren't the only ones who were impressed with Dorian's work, either: the job he did on the Giulia lead him to land a job with Singer Vehicle Design, purveyor of spectacularly reimagined Porsche restomods.
