1991 Alfa Romeo 164L Automatic Had this car for quite a while, never let me down. Great for parts, but not beyond getting back on the road with a little effort. Excellent running V6 non-turbo, recent plugs and cables. Transmission shifts silently and exactly when it should. Gas mileage is pretty good too. This model was made when the Italian manufacturers were trying to make up for their reputation for rusting by galvanizing all body parts. No body rust except on hood near grill and on the tip of the driver’s side front fender where the garage said “we don’t know how it got there.” All doors still have their matching VIN tags with no dings. Full disclosure: Unfortunately Alfa/Lancia was not that diligent when it came to the unseen parts. There is a rust issue where the right rear control rod attaches to the rear sub-frame. The sub-frame is attached with 4 bolts making it easy for replacement or re-enforcement. Nothing has detached and it has been driven locally, but highway operation would be pushing it even though there are 3 other attachment points for the knuckle. The exhaust system is very recent, but there is a leak near the manifold. The climate control system works as intended for heating, but the A/C doesn’t blow cold. The radio, sunroof, work as intended. The leather is good except where the stitching came loose on the driver’s seat. Gas tank needs small patch near filler neck. Clear coat coming away in spots (not as bad as in picture, as they were taken just after the snow melted). Thank you for looking |

FCA reportedly joins the crowd skipping this year's Paris Motor Show
Thu, Jun 14 2018It's likely FCA vehicles will not be seen at the Paris Motor Show this year. Automotive News is reporting that Fiats, Alfa Romeos, Jeeps and Abarths will not be a part at the show, based on information circulating in the French media. There's a possibility that Maseratis will be displayed at a special section dedicated to upscale cars, but Maserati too will not have a show stand of its own. Ferrari will have a stand, but as it happens, the supercar maker has been a standalone brand since 2015. Skipping the Paris show follows FCA's decision not to take part in the Frankfurt show last year, and the two shows alternate as the biggest autumnal automotive show in Europe. Volkswagen will also not attend the event, and neither will Ford, Nissan or Infiniti. This has become a problem for car shows worldwide, including Detroit's North American International Auto Show. FCA has not released a formal statement about the matter, but a FCA spokesman, quoted by the French magazine L'Argus, reportedly said that the sales and publicity brought in by the show stand would not justify the costs of attending. The news mirrors Volvo's newly announced plan to not take part at the next Geneva Motor Show, but to arrange "bespoke activities" to introduce its cars instead. Related Video:
2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Review: Exceptionally sporty, but compromised
Wed, Feb 22 2023Pros: Excellent steering and handling; two sporty engines available; stands out from crowd Cons: Mediocre interior; lackluster tech; small for its segment The 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio feels exotic for the compact crossover segment, with its Italian pedigree, sharp styling and sporty performance. It checks the boxes of a luxury daily driver, while still offering sharp driving dynamics that might mean its owner doesn’t miss the sports car that doesnÂ’t fit their lifestyle anymore. And, you canÂ’t dismiss that this thing is different than the rest of the pack. An Italian car with its signature “Scudetto” grille sure stands out in a parking lot full of more common family vehicles with more conformist design — especially if you pick one of the bolder, brighter paint colors from AlfaÂ’s palette. The biggest sticking point with the Stelvio is that its interior doesnÂ’t quite live up to the rest of the vehicleÂ’s grandeur. ItÂ’s not particularly roomy, and middling material quality and a lack of general artistry dull the illusion of exoticism in the otherwise glamorous and sporty Stelvio (though if you like carbon fiber, the QuadrifoglioÂ’s got you — and practically every surface — covered). The tech, while serviceable, is less spectacular than what youÂ’ll find in the competition (though considering how overwhelming some infotainment systems can feel today, that might not be the worst thing ever). The Stelvio is due for an update for 2024, so weÂ’ll see this generation stick around for a few more years before Alfa starts rolling out a raft of electric models. Still, if youÂ’re on the fence about whether to buy one now or wait until next year, we donÂ’t any expect major changes to come, especially not in terms of performance. And while we think some of its competitors offer more in the way of luxury and utility, the Stelvio is still a great choice for a customer who actually cares about driving dynamics and standing out from the crowd. Interior & Technology  |  Passenger & Cargo Space  |  Performance & Fuel Economy What it's like to drive  |  Pricing & Trim Levels  |  Crash Ratings & Safety Features What's new for 2023? The Stelvio gets an Estrema trim that borrows features like adaptive suspension and limited-slip differential from the line-topping Quadrifoglio, without taking the step up in engine performance and the much higher price tag that comes with it.
Alfa Romeo unveils Formula One car for new season
Mon, Feb 18 2019MONTMELO, Spain — Alfa Romeo has unveiled the new Formula One car that will be piloted by former champion Kimi Raikkonen this season. Raikkonen, teammate Antonio Giovinazzi and team principle Frederic Vasseur posed with the white-and-burgundy Alfa Romeo C38 in the pit lane of the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit before preseason testing started on Monday. Alfa Romeo is the rebranded name for the Sauber team this season. Raikkonen joined Alfa Romeo from Ferrari, where he won the Italian team's most recent drivers' title in 2007. The 39-year-old Finn is joined by Giovinazzi, a 25-year-old Italian with two Grand Prix races under his belt. Sauber finished eighth in the constructors' standings last year.
