Title: 1998 Acura NSX-T Kaiser Silver/Black, 6spd 3.2L, JH4NA2164WT000235 (Rogers, Arkansas)

Here is a little bit of knowledge about the NSX in general. And here is mine. It is a 1998 NSX-T(Targa) with 83,653 miles. I do currently still drive the car so the miles will go up. I love this car but have decided to re-invest the money in a diesel truck.

Additional Information:

NUMBER OF OWNERS: The autocheck report shows 7 owners but many are double-counted. I believe that I am the fourth owner.

CLEAN TITLE: Yes, the car has a clean Arkansas title. The car was originally purchased in Connecticut and lived its life on the East coast before I brought it to AR in 2011.

CLEAN CARFAX: The autocheck report shows 2 accidents. Here are the details: 1) The car was backed into - hit and run - in a parking lot. The front was repainted. 2) The previous owner pulled in too far on a curb and damaged the lip and bottom front. Again, fixed (but reported to insurance to have it paid for). The front lip is currently OFF the car. The autocheck shows a mileage discrepancy but it's clearly a mistake where a random dealer added a 1 in front of the 52,xxx miles. The mistake was corrected by the recipient dealer/auction.

HISTORY OF ACCIDENTS:
Yes, 2 relatively minor accidents - see details above.

HISTORY OF PAINT/BODYWORK
The previous owner painted the front when the car was backed into. To the common eye, it would be hard to see the paint work but if you look close above the Acura symbol on the front bumper you can see an imperfection in the paint. I tried getting pictures of it from many different angles but did not have any luck. No other paintwork has been done on the body. There are no dings/dents on the car and a couple minor scratches that are hard to find.

MAINTENANCE HISTORY & DOCUMENTATION
The car has received routine oil changes and transmission fluid flushes. The clutch and flywheel were replaced with Science of Speed (SoS) components after I purchased the car in 2011. The old clutch was wearing (I still have it) so I decided to replace it. The timing belt and water pump have not been replaced but my NSX certified mechanic at Honda (yup, Honda) says that I can wait until 100k if I want but due by 117K miles. I've reflected this service need in the price of the car.

CURRENT CONDITION OF WEARABLES:

TIRES - Front at 75% and rears are BRAND NEW. Dunlop Direzza 101s - matching all around.

BRAKES - Last inspection, the brakes look good.

BELTS, HOSES, Timing Belt, and Water Pump will be due within 20k miles.

SUSPENSION COMPONENTS - All OEM

FLUIDS - Oil changes with Honda OEM parts are regular. Tranny fluid flushed.

MODS: The car is 97% stock. Only mods:

Cosmetic:
- None

Drive:
- Aftermarket air intake (OEM box available)
- Science of Speed Sport 275 Clutch & Flywheel Kit

Interior:
- Center console and window panels match - Stock stereo, amps, etc.
- Second cigarette lighter wired beneath center armrest (for additional devices)

Sound:
- None

NEEDS ATTENTION:
The antenna squeaks a little when coming down but still works properly as it should. The front left corner of the Targa Top leaks a little if you get caught in a heavy rain. The seal has a small rip in it but nothing major. Looks as if prior owner tried to repair it. Driver window goes up a little slower then the passenger side but works as it should.

$38,500 O.B.O.

Thanks all,
Aaron

The all-women Acura NSX team previews a way forward for racing

Wed, Jan 30 2019

DAYTONA, Fla. — There is a team at the 24 Hours of Daytona that's just like any other team, with experienced drivers who rightly earned their spot in the top endurance racing series in America. They are prepared to run a full season in a competitive car, and they even set the fastest time in their class at the pre-season Roar Before the 24 test. The only difference between this team and any other is that its drivers happen to be women. We went to Daytona to talk to them about their journey to the race. The No. 57 Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo team features a roster of talented, experienced drivers: Katherine Legge, Simona de Silvestro, Bia Figueiredo and Christina Nielsen. While there have been four other all-women lineups at Daytona before, the No. 57 team is the first to be considered truly competitive. Team founder Jackie Heinricher, a biotech CEO who has raced in Ferrari Challenge, Global Rallycross Lites and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, was coached by Legge. Two years ago, she had the idea to run a car full of women – and not just a token effort, but rather a car full of drivers who could win. "The car does not know your gender, and I feel as if this sort of professional effort legitimizes that in a way that's particularly important and inspirational outside of racing," Heinricher told Autoblog. Heinricher had seen Legge struggle to get the right funding for rides before, so she didn't want to limit this team to whoever could pay. So, she first lined up the funding, thanks largely to support from primary sponsor Caterpillar. It took awhile, though, as many companies simply told her that they were out of racing sponsorships entirely. "I think perseverance might be the most underrated human quality," Heinricher said. "I just didn't give up." After funding was in place, she found a competitive partner in the Meyer Shank Racing crew, whose owner Michael Shank has run a pair of factory-backed Acura NSX GT3s in IMSA's GTD class since 2017. The GT3 shares an engine and turbo with the road-going NSX but ditches the hybrid system, making it about 670 pounds lighter. The No. 57 car is an EVO variant, which Legge helped develop, and it features improved aerodynamics to better suit it to the mix of pro and amateur drivers who take shifts racing in the GTD class. Legge had been on Shank's NSX team for the past two years as well, so Heinricher reached out to her for help assembling women who truly had the ability to win.

Acura RDX Luggage Test | How much cargo space?

Tue, Jun 23 2020

The Acura RDX is considered a compact luxury SUV, but there's actually very little that's compact about it. When lined up against its competitors, you can see that it enjoys a clear dimensional advantage. In fact, the RDX is pretty close to the Lexus RX, with an identical rear legroom figure and considerably more cargo space with the back seat raised. Obviously, I'll be addressing the latter here. On paper, Acura provides several cargo numbers calling out specific SAE measurement standards for each one. Basically, it has 31.1 cubic-feet behind its back seat when you include its underfloor storage and 29.5 cubic-feet when you don't. Even that smaller number is superior to everything in the segment save the Volvo XC60 (29.7), while the Lexus RX apparently has a seems-way-too-small 18.4.   Let's see what that size advantage means. It's obvious that this is a comparatively deep and wide space with plenty of air above the back seat line for bulkier items. Note that the cargo cover was not present in this test vehicle, so I couldn't test capacity with it in place. As in every luggage test, I use two midsize roller suitcases that would need to be checked in at the airport (26 inches long, 16 wide, 11 deep), two roll-aboard suitcases that just barely fit in the overhead (24L x 15W x 10D), and one smaller roll-aboard that fits easily (23L x 15W x 10D). I also include my wife's fancy overnight bag just to spruce things up a bit (21L x 12W x 12D). There you go, all the bags fit easily. This is pretty much identical to the Lexus RX (below left) and a much easier fit than the Mercedes GLC, which is  one of the only other compact luxury models I've tested. Both of these examples are more capacious than their specs would indicate. However, this is not the end of the RDX story. Remember when I mentioned that it has 31.1 cubic-feet when including its underfloor storage? Well, that might actually be underselling the extra space gained. First, I like that the floor flips back and rests flat so you can easily use the extra space. You can also fully remove the floor piece to gain access to the aft bin, which is deeper but oddly shaped.  Here are my four largest bags standing up, with sufficient rear visibility maintained, and you still have the full-width section of the cargo area including the underfloor bin. What can you fit there? How about a 38-quart cooler and the remaining two bags stacked haphazardly around it.

Acura builds 345-horsepower RDX A-Spec for SEMA

Tue, Oct 30 2018

The 2019 Acura RDX is great — a return to form for the sporty compact luxury crossover. So there's no real harm in giving one the SEMA treatment, especially since it entails a real motorsport tie-in and some legitimate performance parts. As for the giant graphics, well, it's SEMA after all. Graham Rahal races for Honda in the IndyCar series, and he also has his own performance parts company — named, sensibly enough, Graham Rahal Performance — which he started in 2017. They sell some private-label bits manufactured by other companies to their spec, some off-the-shelf parts, and they do tuning and installation work on customer cars. Acura gave the job of building the SEMA RDX to Rahal. There's a fair bit going on under the hood to get the RDX to 345 horsepower from the factory 272 ponies. The 2.0-liter turbo engine gets a bunch of enhancements. The turbo, intake, exhaust manifolds, downpipe, and cat-back (a GRP design) are all aftermarket. There's a customer intercooler, too. KTuning did the ECU with a custom map. On the handling front, the RDX wears Eibach springs, StopTech brakes, HRE wheels at 21 inches, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The RDX started life as an A-Spec model in Apex Blue Pearl, and from there GRP applied carbon fiber garnish to the mirrors, grille accents, and lower fascia. Troy Lee Designs did the exterior graphics, and inside there's more carbon fiber and a custom steering wheel (courtesy of Max Papis's MPI Innovations shop). The RDX will be on the show floor if you'd like to check out the Rahal shop's handiwork. Related Video:
