I have up for sale my 2008 Acura MDX SH AWD.  Clean carfax, 2 owners, no accidents.  Not a dent or ding on the car.  Does have a few scratches but nothing out of the ordinary.  I bought the car used from a Lexus dealer where someone had traded it in on a new car.  With a growing family, I really need a minivan for ease of being able to get kids in and out of their car seats.  That is the only reason for the sale.  Vehicle is non smoker, and no pets.  No funny smells.  Interior is in above average condition for its age.  No stains.  Carpet underneath the mats can pass as brand new.  Rubber mats are like new as well.  Vehicle drives perfect with no shakes or anything.  Engine is super quiet and transmission shifts exactly as it should.

Car does NOT have factory DVD or NAV options.  Has everything else. Tow package as well.

I take very good care of my cars.  No expense spared.  Within the last 6 months, I have done the following:

2 New front tires
Alignment
100k service including Tune up, spark plugs, filters, fluids, etc
All belts
Front brakes
New battery
New OEM Rubber Winter floor mats

Vehicle is mechanically sound and needs nothing.  Does not drip a drop of oil or any fluid.  Spotless underneath.  No used car dealer stories here, just a family man trying to sell a family car to get a bigger one.  I have both factory keys to the car.

My asking price is cheap, and is a firm price.  I haven't owed the car that long and I'm already losing a lot of money on the sale.  No offers are being accepted, I'd rather trade it in than sell it for less than $17,000.

If you are picky - read this part:
2 of the wheels show some clearcoat peeling.  I've noticed every 07-09 MDX I test drove before buying had this issue.  $125 to refinish to new if you'd like to get it done, I can give you the phone # to a local wheel repair shop where I've got the quote.  If you step back a few feet you don't even notice the blemishes.  One of the factory running boards is also showing some clear coat fading.  The passenger side seems to be fine.  Car has some scratches but really does not have a single dent or ding.  Paint shines nice but could use a exterior detail to get rid of the surface scratches.  I may get this done if I have time before selling.

I accept cash or bank certified check only for the sale.  I have a clear title in hand ready to sign over to you.  We will do the title transfer at a local notary and I will take my tag off so you can drive home on a temp tag issued to you by the notary.  If you don't have the cash ready and available, please don't waste your time or mine.  Thank you.

2020 Colorado Winter Driver's Notes | Behind the Wheel S02 // E12

Mon, Apr 6 2020

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 I’ve had bad luck with SUVs this winter. Especially performance ones. First, I got a 2019 Range Rover Sport SVR delivered on summers right as two feet of snow fell, rendering it undriveable. Then, coronavirus cancelled Easter Jeep Safari as well as my trip out to Moab in the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Diesel. Thankfully, when this 469 horsepower luxury mall crawler was dropped off, the sun shone down and the snow (mostly) held off.  The first thing that I noticed was there were a few blank buttons throughout the cabin, something that you may see in an entry model vehicle, but IÂ’m not accustomed to seeing in an AMG. Not a great look for a vehicle with an $80,000 price tag. Thankfully that was where the disappointment ended. As soon as you press the start button, the engine fires up and the exhaust note is incredible. Hopping on the highway ramp near my house, I floored it, and the biturbo V8 had me pressed back into the driver's seat, and this wasnÂ’t even the S version that our staff drove last year. Inside and out, the GLC 63 was everything youÂ’d expect from Mercedes. The interior was immaculate, and while the infotainment wheel and touch pad may take some getting used to for someone who isnÂ’t familiar, by now I have it down so that I can use it without looking. And while the V8 left me smiling ear to ear, I was most impressed by the amount of useable interior space there is. I happened to be moving at the time of this review and while all of my large furniture was shoved into the back of a moving van, I was able to fit almost everything else in the back of the GLC. 2019 and 2020 Fiat 500X Trekking ItÂ’s hard to say goodbye to an AMG and then turn around and be excited when a Fiat 500X pulls in your driveway (I know, I know, automotive journalist problems). That being said, when the red Fiat pulled up, I found myself admiring it. I am very familiar with the 500X. Back in 2016 Autoblog had one for a year as our long term test vehicle. I drove that car everywhere, multiple trips up north in Michigan, and even tracked it at Gingerman Raceway for a few laps before the brakes started smoking.  The 2019 model I had in my driveway and the 2020 model I drove in the snow up in the mountains feel very similar to that car. The interior is stylish and surprisingly roomy. The greenhouse is airy.

Acura spotlights NSX pace car at Pikes Peak

Tue, Jul 14 2015

You can't just have any old street car setting the pace at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, can you? Of course not. For that task, you'd need a supercar with exceptionally high performance capabilities. Something like the new Acura NSX, for example. Fortunately that's just what the organizers of the annual Race to the Clouds selected to serve as official pace car this year. Honda's new hybrid supercar, set to be built in Ohio, donned a unique livery, a senior PR rep behind the wheel, and a smattering of GoPro cameras to speed up the 14,110-foot mountain. Naturally the twin-turbo V6 engine, nine-speed, dual-clutch transmission, and three-motor Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system formed an integral part of the package as well, even if its output hasn't been officially released more specifically than the "over 550 horsepower" we've been told to expect. The Japanese automaker also placed another couple dozen cameras along the 12.4-mile route and its 156 turns. Which is a good thing, considering that most of us weren't there in Colorado to see it make its run up the mountain, and nobody was there at each corner as it passed – except, of course, for the driver, Sage Marie. The rest of us will want to check out the minute-long clip Acura has released to see the NSX gun for the sky.

Acura Integra to capstone combustion era as EV transition begins

Tue, Dec 7 2021

The recent launch of the resurrected Integra nameplate is just part of a larger shift in mission at Acura. Its leaders have repeatedly said they want Acura to be the performance brand of Honda, where driving fun and dynamics come first. However, in a new report, Acura says it plans to go big on fully electric vehicles, at even greater speed than its parent company, by skipping the hybrid step altogether. According to Acura assistant VP of sales Emile Korkor, the Integra was a capstone to the internal combustion era at Acura. It marked a sort of homecoming to the marque's performance pedigree, and once Integra is launched, the brand will move forward with electrifying its lineup. The company's plans were revealed in an Automotive News interview, where Korkor said, "We're going to bypass hybrids altogether. So our shift is going very rapidly into BEV. That's our main focus." At first blush, that seems to be at odds with brand boss Jon Ikeda's public statements about Acura. As recently as a couple of weeks ago, Ikeda was saying that he wanted to take the Integra racing, as something of a mascot for the "fun" brand at Honda. Perhaps we've been desensitized to automakers making big proclamations about EV transitions a la Jaguar, Land Rover, Bentley, and Infiniti, but typically the green messaging has not been about performance in the traditional sense. Says Korkor, "We're not just dipping our toe in the water with electric at Acura, we are jumping all in. And that's not just because we need to. It's because we want to. Acura is really focused on performance, and electrification is one of the greatest ways we can augment that performance." While electrification and performance are not mutually exclusive, we have yet to drive an EV that connects to the road as beautifully as a 1990s Integra or NSX did. Acuras have never been about power and torque. Yet they were still compelling performance cars thanks to brilliant steering and driving dynamics. Then there's the issue of what Acura represents. Back in February, Ikeda said that Acura was purposefully holding off on an EV strategy because it needed to re-establish its performance bona fides. Now, Korkor says, "The benefit of returning to the Integra right now is that it's going to help shepherd a new generation of customers and build loyalty as we move into a new era." The problem is, the Integra alone isn't enough to establish that performance cred.
