2008 Acura Mdx Sh Awd - No Accidents - Great Condition - 3rd Row - Needs Nothing on 2040-cars
United States
I have up for sale my 2008 Acura MDX SH AWD. Clean carfax, 2 owners, no accidents. Not a dent or ding on the car. Does have a few scratches but nothing out of the ordinary. I bought the car used from a Lexus dealer where someone had traded it in on a new car. With a growing family, I really need a minivan for ease of being able to get kids in and out of their car seats. That is the only reason for the sale. Vehicle is non smoker, and no pets. No funny smells. Interior is in above average condition for its age. No stains. Carpet underneath the mats can pass as brand new. Rubber mats are like new as well. Vehicle drives perfect with no shakes or anything. Engine is super quiet and transmission shifts exactly as it should.
Car does NOT have factory DVD or NAV options. Has everything else. Tow package as well. I take very good care of my cars. No expense spared. Within the last 6 months, I have done the following: 2 New front tires Alignment 100k service including Tune up, spark plugs, filters, fluids, etc All belts Front brakes New battery New OEM Rubber Winter floor mats Vehicle is mechanically sound and needs nothing. Does not drip a drop of oil or any fluid. Spotless underneath. No used car dealer stories here, just a family man trying to sell a family car to get a bigger one. I have both factory keys to the car. My asking price is cheap, and is a firm price. I haven't owed the car that long and I'm already losing a lot of money on the sale. No offers are being accepted, I'd rather trade it in than sell it for less than $17,000. If you are picky - read this part: 2 of the wheels show some clearcoat peeling. I've noticed every 07-09 MDX I test drove before buying had this issue. $125 to refinish to new if you'd like to get it done, I can give you the phone # to a local wheel repair shop where I've got the quote. If you step back a few feet you don't even notice the blemishes. One of the factory running boards is also showing some clear coat fading. The passenger side seems to be fine. Car has some scratches but really does not have a single dent or ding. Paint shines nice but could use a exterior detail to get rid of the surface scratches. I may get this done if I have time before selling. I accept cash or bank certified check only for the sale. I have a clear title in hand ready to sign over to you. We will do the title transfer at a local notary and I will take my tag off so you can drive home on a temp tag issued to you by the notary. If you don't have the cash ready and available, please don't waste your time or mine. Thank you. |

Nice car seeks Millennials | 2018 Acura TLX First Drive
Thu, May 18 2017The Acura TLX has a new face. And a rear diffuser. There's also a new A-Spec version with stiffer dampers, quicker steering, a snarlier engine, and snazzy red leather. Plus, every TLX has a revised touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. That pretty much sums up the refreshed 2018 Acura TLX entry-level luxury sedan, which didn't exactly drop into the market with a splash when it launched originally. Is all of that enough to make a difference? Probably not. After a day driving it around southern Indiana and the outskirts of Louisville, Kentucky, the TLX continues to be a perfectly nice car. It's refined and the cabin is well built, but otherwise the sedan is unremarkable. Ah, but there's more going on here than just a mid-cycle refresh. The 2018 TLX is Acura's latest effort following the revised MDX to recast itself as the maker of "precision-crafted performance" cars, inspired by both the NSX and the Precision Concept car shown at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. It's a top-to-bottom, R&D-to-marketing attempt to better appeal to today's holy grail of customer: the Millennial. To do that, it goes beyond the cars themselves. New Acura commercials are a far cry from an authoritative James Spader rationally extolling the virtues of this and that. There are fast cuts and three images perpetually on screen. There's pulse-pumping music, bright colors, and words like "Geek + Chic" and "Super + Sonic." There are many not-exactly-subliminal images of the NSX. There's a red Power Ranger. It's hip! It's young! It's Millennial! It's also a marketing campaign that has apparently connected with its target generation – well, at least in focus group ratings. "If you look at what the other brands are doing, and particularly the luxury brands, it's so serious," said Jon Ikeda, Acura vice president and general manager. "We're trying to make it more inclusive, not intimidating, more youthful, more optimistic, and more fun. We want to have fun with it. "[The commercials] are trying to set the tone of Acura in general, to make people go, 'OK, I'm interested in that, I want to go drive that.' Now it's up to us to make sure the product reflects that." And Ikeda is actually in a position to make that happen. He's not a business guy or a Mad Men marketing sort – he's moved upstairs after spending decades in design, a tenure that included penning the third-generation TL, the best-selling Acura model of all time and one of the best-looking.
eBay Find of the Day: Ayrton Senna's 1993 Honda NSX
Fri, 09 Aug 2013It's not often that things owned by the late Ayrton Senna come up for sale, but the seller of this black-on-black 1993 Honda NSX (aka, Acura NSX) eBay find claims it was once owned by the Formula One legend, and that he left a footprint on the factory carpet that can still be seen today. (Footprint, or vacuum lines?...)
NSX no. T000999 was given to Senna as a gift from his mentor and sponsor, Antonio de Almeida Braga, the seller claims, and it was stored at a palace near the Estoril F1 circuit in Portugal. He also was known to drive two other NSXs, a black one and a red one - the latter in which he was seen often.
The seller claims to have owned T000999, which is still in Portugal, for 17 years, and the 31,000-mile odometer indicates it was driven about 1,500 miles per year on average. Thankfully the car has been kept stock, so whoever buys it can enjoy driving it just as Senna did - that is, if the car actually is what it's claimed to be. If the story checks out, then this is one valuable NSX, which is reflected in the high minimum starting bid of 47,500 pounds ($73,620). There have been no bids at time of writing, but with nine days left in the auction, we'll be keeping our eyes on this one.
Acura NSX will use Cosworth block, plus other neat tidbits
Sat, Aug 15 2015The blue NSX you see here was built just two weeks ago. Prototype number six, it rolled off Acura's newest assembly line in Ohio and was rushed out to the Monterey peninsula for various car week activities. We had a chance to sit down with several members of the NSX team to discuss the car, the long road from concept to production, and some interesting details. Below are some choice bits from our conversations. Acura is pretty proud of the fact that NSX version 2.0 was designed and is being built in the US. The new assembly line, called the Performance Manufacturing Center, is in Honda's hometown of Marysville, Ohio. While the line is brand new, the building has seen many uses over its lifetime, most recently as a warehouse facility. PMC staff numbers about 100, with 60 technical and 40 non-technical associates. The car uses parts sourced globally, and one of those sources is Cosworth. The engine blocks and heads come from the English firm and get assembled into twin-turbo powerhouses at Honda's nearby Anna, Ohio, engine plant. The Cosworth name is rarely associated with a bad engine, so we were geeked to hear the NSX's 550-plus-horsepower hybrid powertrain has good genes. Acura hasn't decided how many cars will come to the US each year, but supplies will be limited. We're told there is a total figure for global sales – basically anywhere Honda and Acura vehicles are sold – but they're not ready to divulge that number. Dealer allocation is also yet to be sorted out, although we're told that any dealer that has the necessary tools and equipment to service the new NSX will be able to sell them. Acura currently has 272 US dealers. The switch from the transverse engine originally planned to a longitudinal twin-turbo engine threw everyone involved for a loop. The designers had to lengthen their nearly finalized design, and the engineers working on the production process had to revise or redo much of their work. Though we've been waiting a while for the car since the concept first surfaced in 2012, it's pretty amazing to think that the car was engineered one and a half times and a new factory was built in about three years. But yeah, it's delayed, with series production now set to commence in the spring of 2016. One result of the switch to a longitudinal engine is a transmission hump in the cargo area aft of the engine. The hold is still sized to fit a bag of golf clubs, though it will be a tight fit.
