Selling our 2006 MDX.  My wife and I bought the car from my parents in 2012.  My father bought it in 2009 with 50k miles.  Car now has 160k, but has been well maintained.  It runs and drives great. No leaks. I would have no problem driving this car anywhere. It was just taken on a trip from Southern California to Vegas in the heat of the summer with the A/C on with no issues.  It also has the DVD entertainment system for the Kids!! (was great on that trip)  Over the last year several updates have been made - New struts front and rear, front brakes including rotors, pads, and calipers.  Front lower control arm bushings, front & rear swaybar endlinks, and front swaybar bushings.  It also received new front CV axles because the boots had torn. The rear pads were replaced recently, and the oil, filter, and transmission fluids have all been changed.  When I bought it off my dad, I changed the timing belt, water pump, Iridium spark plugs, Serpentine belt, motor mounts (front, side, and 2 transmission), and lastly a valve adjustment - all at 130k miles.  These were recommended items - nothing was wrong with the car.  Again, we have had absolutely no issues with this car at all. Only reason for selling is my wife has wanted a Ford Flex for some time and we came across the right deal... So please do not make ridiculous offers.  This is a nice car and i'll bet better than most 100k mile cars!!!  Car was just waxed and is ready to go.

Car is loaded with all the goodies.  (Many of which we don't use...)  Sunroof, Navigation, DVD entertainment system, CD changer, AWD, Leather seating (3 rows), heated seats, memory seats, 3.5l V6 with 5speed transmission, we added a hitch so we could use our bike carrier and pull a utility trailer (small about 500lbs).  I'm sure i'm forgetting something.  But car is ready to be seen. No warranty, sold as is. I recommend inspecting the car in person so there are no surprises. The car only needs to be smogged on transfer. It just pasted in April when tags were renewed.  I'm happy to make the arrangements or you can negotiate it into the price.   Again - no lowball offers.  Be serious and contact me if you have questions.  I am happy to make this car available to be seen.  I may consider trades if you have one of these Hatchback cars:  Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Subaru Impreza or 9-2X

Terms - I am not a bank, mechanic, car dealer, or psychic.  So I cannot make you a loan, mechanically inspect the car, offer advice, or let you know of any future problems this car may have.  If you place a bid, best offer, or buy-it-now, the car is sold as is.  There is a risk with buying any car sight unseen, and I highly recommend viewing, driving, or inspecting any car before purchase.  I've tried to list what I know about the car, but it is possible I may have left something out, it is not intentional and will be your responsibility upon transfer.  I am not warrantying this car.   Hiring a mechanic may be useful if you are not able to inspect the car yourself, or if you do not have the knowledge or know how to inspect a car.

Acura MDX Luggage Test: How much fits behind the third row?

Mon, Jul 15 2024

The Acura MDX shares its platform with the Honda Pilot, but that fact is really only obvious when you look at their rear seat floor plans. Both offer the unique, removable second-row middle seat, which means that buyers don't have to decide whether they want max capacity and a second-row bench, or the pass-through convenience of second-row captain's chairs. Both also boast a two-level cargo floor behind the third row, which is always a benefit here in Luggage Test land. But! The MDX does not have nearly as much room back there, regardless of whether you take advantage of the two-level floor's lower level (why wouldn't you?).  The MDX has two cargo volume specs for behind the third row: 16.3 and 18.1 cubic-feet. I think it's safe to assume the expanded number is with the floor in its lower position. The Pilot has 18.6 with the floor in place, and either 22.4 or 21.8 with the lower position. The latter's is the Pilot TrailSport's, which is what I conducted the luggage test on. Meanwhile, in the three-row luxury SUV realm, the current king of the castle is the Lexus TX. Telling you right now, the MDX ain't cracking that nut, but what about everything else I've tested? Let's see. Here is the space in question. Note that the floor does not need to be removed; it actually slides down, tucked just below that plastic trim, and rests upon the lower floor. Now, this obviously does raise the bottom floor by an inch versus removing the floor board entirely, so much like cargo covers in two-row vehicles, I decided to test with and without the floor inside. As with every Luggage Test, I use two midsize roller suitcases that would need to be checked in at the airport (26 inches long, 16 wide, 11 deep), two black roll-aboard suitcases that just barely fit in the overhead (24L x 15W x 10D), and one smaller green roll-aboard that fits easily (23L x 15W x 10D). I also include my wife's fancy overnight bag just to spruce things up a bit (21L x 12W x 12D). Well, I can safely say that the MDX's cargo area is narrower than the Pilot's (above right). I could not fit the same bags* head-to-head in the MDX as I could in the Pilot (* green bag is the blue bag's equally sized replacement). The underfloor area seems to be the same length, but it is considerably narrower.  As such, it's obvious the MDX won't be able to hold as many bags, or at least the same bags, as the Pilot could.  First, with the floor stored in its lower position inside the MDX. Two options.

Editors' Picks May 2021 | BMW M3, Toyota Camry and some hot Golfs

Thu, Jun 3 2021

We awarded Editors’ Picks status to a number of performance cars this month, but a couple more regular sedans won out, too. April saw us recognize four models, but that increases to six for May. As the weather warms up here in Michigan, we tend to get into the sports cars that we missed driving all winter, resulting in a sports car-heavy month of testing. That explains why the list this month is so heavy on sports cars and hot hatches. In case you missed our previous couple Editors' Picks posts, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in May that earned the honor of being an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2021 Toyota Camry 2021 Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid View 22 Photos Quick take: The Toyota Camry retains its place as one of the best midsize sedans you can buy. It comes in a variety of trims and powertrains, from the potent TRD model to the fuel-sipping hybrid. It's an attractive, functional and well-rounded car offering value and function. Score: 8.5 What it competes with: Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, Nissan Altima, Mazda6, Subaru Legacy, VW Passat, Chevy Malibu Pros: Highly versatile, efficient hybrid, fun-to-drive sport models Cons: Average infotainment, polarizing exterior, slow base four-cylinder From the editors: Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore — “The Camry is one of the standard bearers in the midsize segment. With many companies abandoning this area, the ones that remain — like Toyota — do it well. Long a bastion of boring design and sleepy driving dynamics, the Camry is now legitimately attractive and offers a range of powertrains. It's a solid entry and along with the Honda Accord, makes the case for midsize sedans to exist." Acura recalls 10k RLX models for headlight replacement

Fri, Dec 12 2014

Acura is recalling 9,700 examples of the 2014 and 2015 RLX in the US to replace their headlights. The problem is that the reflective backing material inside the units can potentially delaminate. If this happens, then the luxury sedans no longer conform to federal safety guidelines. The automaker knows of no injuries or crashes related to this issue, though. The 2014 RLX has been subject to two other recalls. One covered loose bolts in the rear suspension, and the other was to replace the front seat belts. RLX owners should receive mailed notification of the recall around February. This campaign comes hot on the heels of Acura issuing a stop-sale for the TLX V6 for a risk of possible rollaway. Scroll down to read the company's entire announcement of its latest recall. Statement by Acura Regarding Headlight Recall: 2014-2015 Acura RLX Approximately 9,700 model-year 2014-2015 RLX vehicles affected in the U.S. Headlight assemblies in affected vehicles to be replaced, free of charge TORRANCE, Calif. – Dec. 11, 2014 – Acura will voluntarily recall approximately 9,700 model-year 2014-2015 RLX vehicles in the United States to replace both headlight assemblies, free of charge. The reflective film backing material inside the headlights may delaminate, which may result in the vehicle no longer conforming to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue. Acura is announcing this recall to encourage all owners who purchased an affected vehicle to take it to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Acura. Mailed notification to customers will begin in early-Feb. In addition, owners of these vehicles can determine if their vehicles require repair by going to recalls.acura.com or by calling (800) 382-2238 and selecting option 4. # # #
