THIS CAR IS A MUST SEE TO BELIEVE!!! FLY OUT TO SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA AND SEE IT FOR YOURSELF BEFORE BUYING IF YOU LIKE. I WILL PICK YOU UP FROM THE AIRPORT AND YOU CAN DRIVE THE CAR HOME AFTER THE TRANSACTION IS COMPLETE. I am selling my like new, fully modified JDM inspired 1993 Acura Integra. There is way too much to list but I will try my best to convey what has been done and how much time/money has been put into this car. This is hands down the nicest custom DA9 you will find anywhere. I don't want to say this is the nicest, tastefully modified DA Integra in U.S. but it would definitely be on the top 10 list. This car has power steering and a/c still unlike most imports that are this modified. It creates 230whp and does a mid 13 in the quarter(it would run a low 13 if it wasn't for all of the stereo equiptment and dynamat). This car was made for comfort and performance. This is a daily driven show car, not a track car. It has only been adult owned and was built by the previous owner who is financially very well off. I am the fourth owner. The transmission has no grinds nor does the motor have any leaks. It runs and drives like new. Then again the car realistically only has 6k miles on it since everything has been replaced from drive train to suspension. Performance: Crower Valve Springs and Titanium retainers($400) Second set of wheels; Drag DR16 16x7 +40 Gold Hankook Ventus V2 205/45/16 Drag forged aluminum lugs (wheels, tires and lugs were $1,200 mount and balanced) As you can see by the list there is too much work done to even try to explain. With everything listed, I have a total of $36,450 parts and labor. I know I am missing a lot of upgrades so you can probably add $2,000 more in parts and another $2,000 in labor that I didn't account for to install some of the other parts listed above. This is the last Integra like this you will find! Most tuners now days are modifying RSX's and newer Civic SI's. This car is the cleanest you will find anywhere with all top of the line parts and work done by the best of the best professional installers and builders. The car is registered until May 2015 and won't need California smog for another 2 years. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to setup an appointment to view. Good things aren't cheap and cheap things are rarely ever good! Please read I reserve the right to end this listing at any time, should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. Jay Leno finally gets his hands on the 2017 Acura NSX
Tue, Mar 1 2016It has been five years since Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld starred in a commercial about which one of them would get the first example of the new Acura NSX. After a long wait, they finally get a chance, but Leno is the first to check out the coupe in the latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The denim-clad host spends over 30 minutes with lead designer Michelle Christensen and Ted Klaus, global development chief engineer, to get the full scoop on the hybrid supercar. Leno and Christensen get into the nitty-gritty about the design process for the latest NSX, and she points out her favorite parts of the finished product. She had quite a challenge creating the new supercar. Over the model's long gestation, every adjustment to the shape forced changes elsewhere to direct the airflow correctly, and then the decision to switch to a different engine configuration added even more time. Klaus focuses on the engineering side, like using the Ferrari 458 and original NSX as the major benchmarks for the new one. He also takes a ride with Leno, and the comedian even cracks a grin driving it. Leno doesn't usually show much emotion behind the wheel, so the little smirk is high praise from him. Carve out some time for a detailed walk-through about the 2017 NSX in the latest clip from Jay Leno's Garage. Related Video:
Mid-engine Honda sports car surfaces in EU patent drawings
Wed, Jul 19 2017Based on new patent drawings, Honda clearly isn't done with sports cars. The design you see above was registered and published by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and was first reported by AutoGuide. The drawings show a rakish, angular sports car design that is very clearly mid-engine. It could almost pass for a Lamborghini. But the name on the design is Honda Motor Company, and aside from the name, it bares a strikingly similar appearance to a mid-engine design found in a Honda patent two years ago. In fact, the only major difference between this car and the older one (seen below) is the lack of a windshield and top. The shape of the lights and the grille, as well as the front fender vent and character lines running from it, are reminiscent of the S660 kei roadster for Japan. The large, angular intakes look more related to the Acura NSX, though. View 6 Photos Unlike the previous patent renderings of the car, this one has an interior, and the inclusion of it may be why the top and windshield are absent. The interior also leads us to believe that this design is for an upcoming concept. The steering wheel is a small, rectangular piece similar to what you would find in an F1 car or Indy car. The seats also look like thin buckets designed to be as sporty and light as possible. A production version would probably have a bit more cushioning and a round wheel. It does look like there is a pushbutton transmission setup in the center console like current Acuras, though. So what does this mean? Honda is clearly still working on this design, and based on some of the more radical design choices for the interior, we're likely looking at a concept car that will show up in the next couple of years. Whether a concept will lead to a production car is tough to say. There's definitely room in Honda's global sports car roster between the S660 and NSX for something in between, and Honda has reported that it's getting pressure from dealers for sporty cars. The exterior design isn't so extreme it couldn't be tweaked for production, either. There have also been rumors that Honda is preparing a mid-engine hybrid sports car with the Type R's turbocharged four-cylinder. Honda also holds a trademark for the name "ZSX," which fits the naming scheme of the NSX and old RSX, but at least in Europe, Honda has held the trademark since 2009. We'll just have to wait and see what Honda does.
2020 Acura NSX Suspension Deep Dive
Wed, May 13 2020The Acura NSX has been a special car as long as I’ve been in the business. The first one came out in 1990, the same year I started my career in automotive engineering. I vividly remember driving one briefly back then when we brought one in for benchmarking. I'd drive it again 22 years later when my previous employer bought a used 1991 example for a long-term test. Reader interest was sky-high and the car was still gorgeous, but the march of time and automotive engineering had clearly left it behind. Then, in 2016, a second-generation NSX emerged, and it was packed with bleeding-edge thinking. It has a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, but this new NSX is a hybrid with an electric motor-generator sandwiched between the engine and its nine-speed DCT transmission. Two more electric motors – one for each wheel – power the front axle. There they can add traction, regenerate electricity under braking and dole out hyper-accurate levels of torque vectoring. The carÂ’s tire package was changed from Continental SportContact 5 to SportContact 6 tires in 2019, and numerous suspension re-tuning tweaks came along with them. The result is a lively and well-balanced car that is relentless when driven hard and a pussycat around town. LetÂ’s see what theyÂ’ve got going on under there.  At first glance the 2020 Acura NSX appears to have dual wishbone front suspension. But we canÂ’t tell for sure because that big two-piece brake rotor is in the way. The coil-over shock looks obvious, but a few odd details are apparent even from here.  This view also seems to indicate double wishbone suspension. But the pivot axis (green arrow) between the upper and lower ball joints looks wrong – itÂ’s far too vertical. WeÂ’re missing something. But I would be remiss if I failed to point out a few other things before we moved on. For one, the front drive axle confirms this to be an all-wheel-drive machine. Second, the forged aluminum damper mounting fork (yellow) that envelops the axle is mounted to the lower arm about 75% out from the armÂ’s inner pivot. The spring and damper motion ratio would be 0.75-to-1 relative to wheel movement, with a tiny reduction due to its lean angle. Lastly, just look at the huge cast aluminum upright (white). Beautiful. Normally these are called hub carriers or steering knuckles, and I use the terms interchangeably. But the motorsports-derived term upright is normally applied when the piece is tall and, well, upright like this one.  This explains everything.
