1997 Acura Integra Type R Built 2.0l 4.9fd Eibach Multi-pro Recaros on 2040-cars
Redwood City, California, United States

I purchased the car from an owner in WA in NOV of 2012 and have owned it in CA. Car currently has about 103K miles on it. I've taken it to about 6 trackdays. Most of the description below is from the previous owner with me adding things where they have changed or been updated. This is a very capable track car and can be street driven with a full interior, clean trunk. Car will get you 25mpg regular driving. 1997 Integra Type-R #0110 Clean WA state title The good: Clean Title Straight body No major damage Clean Interior (no smoking/pets) Well maintained Comes with lots of extras, including rebuilt VIN matching B18C5 block The bad: Couple small scuffs/nicks/scratches on exterior Front lip has a big crack in it, together now with a brace and ductape Front bumper, hood & fenders replaced by previous owner after front-end collision (OEM parts) Story: This is a well maintained 1997 Integra Type-R with a number of modifications, but also included are a majority of the OE parts required to return the car to near-stock. #0110 was purchased from the original owner in 2003 100% stock minus the JDM 16 wheels and modified Koni shocks. #0110 was my daily driver until 2005 at which point she went under the knife for a 2.0L track-car build. #0110 attended ITR Expo-5 in Omaha Nebraska in 2005, and has been a garage queen and occasional weekend car since. Since I took ownership in 2003, #0110 has attended about a dozen HPDEs, and just about as many passes at the drag strip. I am selling #0110 because Im just not getting the enjoyment out of her that I used to. I have a new toy to occupy my time (and money). The engine build started in 2005. The 2.0L block now has about 25,000 miles, but despite its age the engine is still strong. I touched up the tune in early June 2012 and made 233whp and 159wtq on a DynoJet, which are the highest numbers yet. Before the dyno compression was 230/250/250/240, so the engine is healthy but starting to show its age. The oil is changed every few months (~500 miles) with Mobil1 5w30 Synthetic with OEM filter (15400-PLM-A01 Filtech). Valve adjustments are performed every-other oil change. The car still has the factory equipped Air Conditioning (charged) but needs a belt to operate. * Car actually will need the idler bracket and belt for AC to work. #0110 was re-sprayed inside/outside in 2002 with DuPont Championship White paint by previous owner after a front-end collision. All work was completed at a well-known body shop with all components removed before paint, including glass. Replacement parts were all OEM from a donor car, including bumper, hood and fenders. Included with the vehicle purchase are pictures of the donor car and full receipts of the work performed. Other than the missing VIN tags on the bumper/fenders/hood, you would never know this car was in an accident. Exterior Condition: Make no mistake, this car has been tracked. Ive hit a few cones with the front bumper, and consequently there have been a slowly increasing number of scuffs and faint paint cracks forming on the front bumper. This damage is not noticeable from +10ft. There are a couple minor dings/chips, I know where they are and you probably wont see them unless you look hard. Other than that, there are no dents or damage to the car. Interior Condition: Carpets are a little worn, but still in good condition for the age of the car. Seats are in great shape,#0110 has the original badge/armrest. Non-smoker no Pets. currently has recaro JDM Seats in very good condition, 9/10. Car comes with the stock steering wheel, not the aftermarket setup. Bolt-Ons: Custom 3.5 Aluminum Intake w/3.5 > 6 Velocity Stack + K&N Filter Omni 70mm TB port matched to the stock ITR intake manifold Skunk2 MegaPower Header T1R Resonated Testpipe T1R 70R 70mm (2.75) catback exhaust. *Currently has an APEXI 70mm WS2 muffler to be slightly quieter, still have the T1R muffler. 2017 Acura NSX | 573 horsepower for lunch
Fri, Aug 18 2017Our Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is in California for Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, rubbing elbows with beautiful people and their far-more-beautiful cars. Greg took a 2017 Acura NSX down the Monterey Peninsula to grab lunch yesterday and posted live video on Facebook. We thought we'd share it here. We've driven the modern NSX before, of course, and it's terrific. For greater detail, check out our review from 2015. The video is in two parts, as Greg lost service at one point. Ah, technology. We'll be ordering lunch ourselves soon. Wish we could order California sunshine and an NSX to go. Turbo Honda S2000 could battle Miata and 124 Abarth
Mon, Dec 7 2015Rumors are again swirling that Honda could have a new sports car under development to slot below the forthcoming NSX. Autocar claims the model would revive the S2000 name, but offer 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbocharged units at the front to drive the rear wheels. Autocar alleges this info comes from unnamed "company insiders," and asserts the new S2000 could have a base model with a 1.5-liter turbo that makes about 180 hp almost 60 hp down from the original convertible. However, a hotter version Β possibly with Type R badging Β would reportedly have a detuned form of the 306-hp 2.0-liter in the Civic Type R. Both trims would have a six-speed manual. Competing rumors contend that Honda could be developing two different performance models. Patent images suggest the company might have a smaller version of the NSX under consideration in addition to the rumored S200 revival. The mid-engine coupe would allegedly use a hybrid powertrain based on the Civic Type R's engine to make a total of about 400 hp. However, Autocar claims the S2000 successor has the higher priority of the pair, but it doesn't mention where the info comes from. The Honda S660 kei car on sale in Japan shows that the brand is willing to dabble in new sports cars, but that convertible isn't practical for the US market, according to the automaker's bosses. Dealers meanwhile continue to beg a performance model in the lineup, so it's possible one of these rumored projects eventually could arrive in showrooms. Related Video:
2021 Acura TLX Type S First Drive Review | Adapting to a changed world
Thu, May 20 2021SALINAS, Calif. A lot has changed since Acura offered its last Type S model over a decade ago. Tesla's EVs have plundered a sizable chunk of market share, Korean manufacturers have stormed the near-luxury and luxury segments, and Acura, in an effort to restore the luster of their once-revered nameplate, rebooted the legendary NSX as a hybrid-powered supercar halo with the hopes that desirability (and some hardware) will trickle down into the rest of the lineup.Β That last part is key to understanding the mission of the new 2021 Acura TLX Type S. Though the premium sport sedan segment isnΒt necessarily hotly contested, the Type S still plays a critical role in bolstering the brandΒs credibility. Positioned as a step above the turbo four-cylinder-powered TLX ($39,500) and the better-equipped TLX A-Spec ($45,500), the TLX Type S starts at $53,325 and packs a number of performance upgrades that make it high-performance capable. Just don't expect it to be as track-worthy as a Honda Civic Type R. The Type S is built on AcuraΒs stiffest sedan chassis to date. Packing an all-new twin-scroll turbo 3.0-liter V6 under its flared hood, the Type S makes 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Despite gains of 83 hp and 74 lb-ft, combined fuel economy drops only 3 points to 21 mpg with the hotrod V6. Aiding the cause is a cylinder deactivation system and active vibration control to mask the transition between six and three cylinders.Β Chassis updates include extra bracing for a 13% stiffer body, 40% stiffer front springs, thicker stabilizer bars, more aggressive shock valving, retuned steering, and larger four-piston Brembo brakes. Standard 20-inch wheels and tires are the largest yet for TLX, and Pirelli P Zero summer tires are available with an NSX-inspired design. Tying it all together are drive modes with a new Sport+ setup: Turn and hold the centrally positioned mode selector for 1 second, and throttle response, shifting, exhaust valve, steering effort, damping, torque vectoring, and even interior lighting take on a more aggressive calibration. To showcase these enhancements, Acura held the Type S first drive at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, hauling up a few historic vehicles for good measure including a first-gen NSX and a Honda S2000 CR. Old school Type S specimens included a 2001 CL, 2007 TL, and a 2007 RSX.
