Unfortunately the time has come... we are moving overseas and I am forced to sell my 2003 Acura CL-S...
I have FOR SALE a 2003 Acura CL Type-S, 6 speed! The color is Nighthawk Black Pearl w/ Ebony leather interior. This is an extremely limited car, as it's the only year the CL was produced with a six speed manual transmission. This car is so rare, only 480 cars were produced in this configuration! (That's even more limited than my 1998 Integra Type-R!) This car is fully loaded with leather power heated seats, power moonroof, Cruise Control, remote powered door locks, BOSEŽ surround sound system with 6 disc cd w/ cassette and steering wheel controls. Car currently has just over 60,000 miles! Tires have been recently replaced (Kumho hi-performance ASX 225-45 17s) as well as K&N filter, spark plugs, and always fresh Mobil 1 for the entire life of the car. (I had the service records pulled from the dealership the car was originally sold from.) This is the cleanest, most meticulously maintained 2003 CL Type-S 6-speed you are going to find. The car has lowered Comptech Sport Springs, iridium plugs, a K&N high performance filter, and painted center caps. The car had a new Mugen clutch and upgraded transmission added at around 27K mi. Additional photos can be viewed at http://www.essayphoto.com/acura/ Asking price is $12,250, All offers will be considered, but please no lowballing. I am not in that big of a hurry to sell. I have owned this car for the past 6 years and it has been an incredibly fun and fast car to drive, it has also been extremely reliable. The car is very clean and well maintained. Acura doubles CPO non-powertrain warranty to 2 years
Fri, Aug 2 2019On the same day Acura dropped a scintillating teaser for its upcoming Type S Concept, it also quietly announced some less exciting (unless you're in the market for a used Acura) news: It's improving the warranty that comes with its certified preowned (CPO) vehicles. Non-powertrain coverage is doubling from one year to two years, while powertrain coverage remains the same at seven years. Starting this year, Acura's Certified Preowned Vehicle Limited Warranty, which begins after the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, will be two years or 100,000 miles for non-powertrain coverage, a significant improvement from the previous guidelines of one year or 12,000 miles. Powertrain coverage is seven years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. In addition to the better warranty, Acura will offer new CPO customers a complimentary dealership maintenance service, which includes a check or change on the oil and oil filter, air intake filter, cabin air filter, rear differential fluid, brake fluid, and a tire rotation. Furthermore, CPO customers will get three free months of AcuraLink on a trial basis. Under warranty like in previous years, Acura will continue to offer "Motor Club Benefits," which includes emergency towing, flat-tire change, battery boost, emergency fuel delivery, and lockout assistance. Acura has strict rules for what can be considered for its CPO program. The car must be six model years or newer, so between 2014-2020, and it must have less than 80,000 miles on the dial.
Acura already planning NSX Type R?
Wed, Jan 14 2015Acura just took the wraps off the production version of its long-awaited new NSX, but rumors are already circulating of an even hotter version to follow. Meeting up at the Detroit Auto Show this week, Auto Express asked the NSX's chief engineer Ted Klaus about the prospect of a Type R version in the future, to which he reportedly answered: "I think everyone who loves cars wants to see a version that we say is pure red. The NSX has always been silver first, moving towards red later. Someone asked me, 'when will you be satisfied?' Probably never. What you do today, you can improve on tomorrow." That doesn't mean that tomorrow will actually come tomorrow, but it does speak to a spirit of improvement on the NSX team that could stand to keep the American-made Japanese supercar on the knife's edge and out in front of the competition, which Klaus identified as including the Ferrari 458, Audi R8 V10 and Porsche 911 Turbo. The previous model bred the NSX-R two years after its release (in the Japanese domestic market anyway), benefiting from a 265-pound weight reduction, a stiffer suspension, and though never officially confirmed, a long-suspected bump in output. 2015 Acura TLX confirmed for New York debut
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Acura has announced that the 2014 New York Auto Show will see the arrival of the production TLX - the sedan that will replace both the TL and TSX in the company's lineup. The TLX was already previewed at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show as a near-production concept model, meaning we already have a very solid idea of what the 2015 model will look like.
What we didn't know, was that Acura has finally gotten on board with some advanced powertrains, rather than just plucking stuff from the Honda parts bin. Okay, that's kind of a lie. We've seen both of the TLX's engines in previous Honda products - a 2.4-liter, VTEC four-cylinder and a 3.5-liter VTEC V6 from the Civic Si and Accord, respectively - but the transmissions will be totally new.
First, an eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic will be paired with the base four-pot. The V6, meanwhile, will get a nine-speed automatic. Unfortunately, there's no mention of a manual gearbox. Acura's Precision All-Wheel Steer will be standard on the front-drive variants for both engines, while the 3.5-liter V6 will also be available with the brand's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.
