Up for auction is a 2004 Acura TL with 143,600 miles.  Grey (anthracite) metallic exterior and black leather interior.

Please ask any questions BEFORE you bid.

Runs great.

If properly maintained, Acuras, like all Hondas, will last for 250,000+ miles.

Car cost over $32,000 when new and is loaded with features, including sunroof, heated front seats, Bluetooth, power driver and passenger seats, XM radio and in-dash 6-disc CD changer.

Car is front wheel drive (great in rain and snow).  Also has traction control, stability control and ABS brakes with brake assist.

Eight airbags.

I keep the car garaged, both at home and at work.  I bought the car in Oct. 2010 when it had 98,500 miles on it.

3.2 liter V-6 engine with 258 horsepower.  Merging onto the interstate is easy with the 5-speed automatic transmission pulling smoothly, giving plenty of acceleration without feeling or sounding like you’re straining anything.  There’s a reason that this car was competitive with the BMW 3-series.

Cruise control.

17 inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle GT tires with only 21,000 miles on them (new at 122,622 miles).

I average over 26 MPG, but I commute 20 miles each way to work every day, so your mileage may vary depending on use.  I always filled the car with premium fuel (which is recommended / required).

Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights (factory installed).  I wish my brand new Hyundai Genesis had these (it doesn’t).

Car has built-in Bluetooth for your phone with steering wheel mounted controls.

Black leather seats in very good condition, especially for a car with 140,000 miles.

Heated front seats work great (high and low settings).

8-way power driver seat with memory

4-way power passenger seat

Sunroof (opens or tilts) with sliding sunshade.

8-speaker stereo with subwoofer.  XM radio.  In-dash 6-disc CD changer.  Steering wheel mounted stereo controls.  All original (not aftermarket).  Really sounds great.  I wish the stereo in my brand new Hyundai Genesis sounded as good (it doesn’t).

Power windows with 1-touch down on the driver and front passenger windows.

Keyless entry.

Homelink (for opening your garage doors).

Dual-zone air conditioning works great and was serviced by an Acura dealer at 107,351 miles.

Auto-dimming rear view mirror (a cool feature that you don’t realize that you need until you drive a car without it).

> power, heated mirrors

> carpeted floor mats (currently stored in trunk)

> all-weather floor mats (currently in car)

> trunk cargo net

> trunk rubber cargo tray

> 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS and brake assist

> steering wheel mounted radio and Bluetooth telephone controls

> Leather steering wheel / telescopic tilt steering wheel

> traction control

> stability control

> fog lights

> xenon high intensity discharge headlamps

> driver and passenger airbags

> driver side impact airbags

> passenger side impact airbags

> curtain 1st and 2nd row overhead airbags

> power locks

> rear defrost

I’m a non-smoker, and I assume the previous owner was as well, as I’m very sensitive to odors and never detected anything.

Since I’ve owned the car, I’ve only taken it to a local Acura dealer for service, except for periodic oil changes at Valvoline.

Acura doesn’t have a set interval for oil changes.  Instead, the car’s computer keeps track and lets you know when an oil change is needed.  I’d guess it comes about every 6,000 to 7,000 miles.  I never waited that long and instead got the oil changed, on average, every 4,300 miles.

I had a local Acura dealer perform their largest service interval at 113,791 miles.  It included replacing the spark plugs, timing belt, tensioner, adjuster, water pump, external drive belts and changing the coolant.  They also replaced two motor mounts at the same time.

Other service notes:

> Acura dealer changed the transmission fluid at 141,387 miles and also changed the oil and rotated the tires.

> Acura dealer replaced the EGR valve at 116,203 miles, as well as the air conditioning belt tensioner.

> Acura dealer replaced power steering pump at 98,440 miles (when they serviced it prior to putting it up for sale).

> Car was originally purchased in May 2004.

All the electronics work, including power windows, sunroof, power driver and passenger seats, cruise control, 6-disc in-dash CD changer, etc.  The motor on the driver’s seat does groan when you slide the seat forward or backward.  Also the high and low indicator lights on the driver’s seat heater need to be replaced.  But again, the driver’s seat heater itself works fine (both high and low heat settings).

I just replaced the armrest / center console / tray in February as it was looking worn (see photos showing new arm rest between the front seats).  Cost me $242.56.

The dent in the front bumper (see photos) was there when I purchased the vehicle.  Otherwise, the car has the kind of minor chips and scratches one would expect on a car with 140,000 miles (see photos).  The interior is in very good condition, particularly for the mileage (see photos).

The car is available for inspection in Loveland, Ohio (NE suburb of Cincinnati).

This vehicle is being sold "as is" and no warranty is being provided, expressed, written or implied.  While I’ve done my best to describe the condition of the vehicle and have made every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle,  my descriptions are not to be construed as a warranty of any type.  It is the responsibility of the buyer to have inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value of the vehicle and to bid based solely upon that judgment.

I’ve sold four cars on Ebay previously with no issues and have always had satisfied buyers.

Winning bidder must make a $250 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the end of the auction or I reserve the right to sell the car to the next highest bidder.  Full payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction or I reserve the right to sell the car to the next highest bidder.  Final payment must be made by cash, money order or cashier’s check.  No personal checks.

Buyer is responsible for picking up or shipping this vehicle.  If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly cooperate, though you’ll have to pay them directly and I have to receive full payment prior to shipment.

The car is NOT for sale locally – only on Ebay.  And do not ask me to end the auction early – I won’t do it.  The winner of the Ebay auction gets the car.  Period.

If you are not sure about something, please ask!  Do not assume anything not listed is included.  IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK, please email me with your name, address and telephone number BEFORE you bid, or I reserve the right to cancel the bid.  I also reserve the right to cancel bids for bidders with negative overall feedback or bidders with excessive negative feedback.

Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle.  A non-paying high bidder will be reported to Ebay.  Please bid only what you are willing to pay.

Buyer is responsible for getting temporary tags, if desired.  My current license plates will NOT be provided with the vehicle.  I’m not a dealer and can’t provide temporary tags.

And again, PLEASE email me with any questions BEFORE you bid!

Thanks and happy bidding!

Acura RLX pricing and launch plan detailed

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Acura has released pricing for its upcoming flagship, the RLX, at the Detroit Auto Show this week. Powered by an all-new direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 rated at 310 horsepower, the front-wheel-drive sedan replaces the outgoing RL model (2011's worst-selling car of the year) as the automaker's new flagship.
In addition to boasting the most spacious passenger cabin in its mid-luxury class, the new range-topping Acura features the automaker's first-ever application of Precision All-Wheel Steer and Jewel Eye LED headlamps. Standard equipment includes Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning, with Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, and Blind Spot Information (BSI) system trim and option specific.
The four-door will initially be sold in five grades (prices exclude a destination charge of $895):

2022 Acura MDX Type S First Drive Review | Spicy-enough family hauler

Tue, Mar 8 2022

NAPA, Calif. — First things first: The 2022 Acura MDX Type S is not the Honda premium brandÂ’s attempt to create a BMW X5M. Then again, at $67,745, it comes in 30 grand under the storming German SUV. So while the Type S carries the imprimatur of high performance, it is priced more in line with the entry-level BMW X5 xDrive40i, plus the Audi Q7 55 TFSI and Mercedes GLE 450 4Matic that have upgrade engines but fall well short of being considered high-performance models. Acura makes a more convincing showing of it with the Type S, but you still get what you pay for – and sometimes paying less is OK. What Acura has created is an upgraded midsized SUV that gives sufficient sportiness to enthusiastic drivers, without clamping down on handling and braking harder than ThanosÂ’ gauntlet. HereÂ’s what to tell your friends at the bar: Acura ripped out the stock 3.5-liter V6 for a 3.0-liter sequential twin-scroll turbo that adds 65 horsepower (to 355) and 87 pound-feet of torque (to 354), and beefed up the 10-speed automatic transmission with a new torque converter, stronger gears and improved clutches to handle the increased power. It was also reprogrammed for improved response, especially in the new, Type S-exclusive Sport+ mode. Brake upgrades include four-piston 14.3-inch Brembos up front. And Acura claims its first-ever air suspension – courtesy of supplier Continental – delivers both improved ride and dynamic performance. What does that mean when youÂ’re actually behind the wheel? On a rainy day in Napa, California, marked with intermittent drizzle that turned the narrow two-lane roads greasy and slithery, the MDX Type S revealed its beefy size on occasion but also comported itself confidently. Most confident on corners marked “35 mph” or above, the Type S felt a bit bogged down in slower corners – especially when getting on the gas too early. Acura claims that its torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive will help round off corners when accelerating out of an apex, but the laws of physics and slippery roads still apply. Hitting the gas earlier in a wet cornerÂ’s apex can result in some bonus wheel slippage and mini-rotations thanks to SH-AWD, which is great fun if you are expecting it from this 4,741-pound beast.
