Did Acura just confirm it's working on an Integra successor?

The Acura Integra (pictured above in Type R trim) was one of the definitive vehicles of the Acura brand in the US, having joined the Legend at the marque's birth here. However, since the retirement of the RSX, the luxury arm of Honda has lacked a compact, sporty coupe to fill that niche. There appears to be a chance of that absence possibly coming to an end in the coming years, though.
Acura lead designer Dave Marek spoke to Car and Driver during the SEMA Show and said, "A performance brand needs a flagship and it needs an accessible sport car. Not a sports car, but a sport car." However, he also suggested that a new model wouldn't be spinning its tires too soon, at least not before 2017 by his indication.
While the vague possibility of a new sports coupe is still years away, Acura is taking its early steps in a brand revitalization campaign that includes spinning the luxury arm further away from Honda. The strong initial sales of the TLX are certainly a good start, but the work appears to just be beginning, according to Marek. "There are changes coming, and then there are more changes coming," he said to Car and Driver.

VIN #001 went to Nascar Owner Rick Handpick. He paid $1.2M at auction for the first NSX. The proceeds went to charity. The 2017 NSX uses a twin turbo V6 teamed with three electric motors to make a total of 573-hp and 476-lb.ft of torque. The supercar also runs a nine speed dual clutch transmission and AWD. The starting price is $157,800 but you can option this thing out to well over $200k. Ford Motor Company applied this month to get the rights to the trademark for the word Zephyr. Lincoln is using some real names again aside from these MKC and MKX things that don't mean a lot to the general public. The Navigator is going strong and a new one comes on next year. Plus it brought back the Continental which was a well revived move. So Zephyr should ring a bell it was used in the 1930s and 40s, it was also used a little less memorably in 2006 on a Lincoln model that was essentially a rebadged Ford Fusion. Check out Honda's sweet stop-motion 'Power of Dreams' ad

Television advertising doesn't just have to be the necessary evil that pays for the shows that you want to watch, and Honda is absolutely proving that with a new two-minute commercial titled Paper. Using stop-motion animation and a heap of illustrated cutouts, the spot showcases what the Power of Dreams motto really means. It runs through highlights like the success in racing, automotive development, Asimo, the HondaJet, and even lawnmowers. The result of all that hard work is spellbinding. The entire two-minute spot already aired during a few NFL games, and doing that was a serious investment. According to Ad Age, during the time that the ad ran the estimated cost per 30 seconds was $300,887.
