Reluctantly selling my gorgeous '91 NSX in very nice condition with original paint. For those of you in the know, this is the first year of production and this vehicle is outside the snap ring range. I acquired this car about 4 years ago with 90K miles, after having owned a Ferrari 308, Mercedes SLK, etc. Since it's previous service history was unknown, I immediately had a full engine-out service done, including new water pump, belts, seals, etc. A couple of years ago, I had it at an Acura dealer and they noted that there was an active service recall for the cooling system, so again it had a new water pump, plus several hoses, coolant tubes, et al. It's also received new rear brake pads, a clutch servo hose, air conditioning recharge and other minor items. As a weekend pleasure car, the mileage is now just over 100K.

The car is nearly stock, with a few modifications. There is some sort of racing clutch in it, very stiff to operate, but it does not slip. The interior was redone at some point in red and black and is in excellent shape with the exception of the driver's side outside bolster, which is starting to crack. There is a red/black MOMO gearshift knob, and I have had the factory cellphone removed from the center console and replaced with a US Spec ipod interface connected to the stock Bose sound system. This also necessitated the removal of the 6-disc CD changer from the trunk, which yields more luggage space. All of these removed pieces, including the intact wiring harnesses are included with the car.

When I got the car, it was lowered with 18 and 19 inch TSW Kyalami wheels and ultra low profile tires. They looked great, but the car was way too low for practical city roads and potholes, so I swapped it out for stock springs. I added new General UHP rubber in the rears and ran this setup until last year when potholes finally took their toll. The right front wheel lost its center hub and the wheel rim was dented. Even though it still held air and ran true, I didn't feel confident, so I now have a set of near mint stock NSX wheels, in 15's and 16's with Falken Azeni's. This setup handles almost as well as the aftermarket wheels and is much more practical. The rears will need replacement soon. The aftermarket wheels/tires are also included and could be remounted if desired.

This has been my dream car and I have really enjoyed it, but the time has come to sell. I now am developing a vineyard and winery in the Sierra foothills and need a more practical car for my frequent commutes when I don't take the truck.

If you're looking for a well-sorted, very clean and stock NSX, you won't find a nicer one at this price. Just passed smog and California registration renewed to March, 2015. Serious inquiries only. You've got to have the money as it would be difficult to finance a car like this. Cheers

Honda and Acura add garage door control to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

You’ll soon be able to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in your Honda or Acura to open and close your garage door. ItÂ’s a new feature made possible through a partnership with the Chamberlain GroupÂ’s myQ Connected Garage service. Honda says that all of its 2023 and 2024 model year vehicles will be compatible with this new tech, but it also says that Â“millions of older Honda and Acura models supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also have compatibility.Â” ThatÂ’s especially great to hear that the convenience is not just going to be limited to brand-new models. As for how it works, the system is fairly straightforward. You can set a geofence that will automatically prompt you with a system notification when you get within a certain distance of your garage. Follow the onscreen instructions to open, and your garage door will do as you command. The same can be done to close your garage door. For this tech to work, Honda says that youÂ’ll need a compatible garage door opener, but thereÂ’s a good chance you already do because myQ is compatible with most openers on the market today from LiftMaster and other Chamberlain brands. If your opener is already myQ enabled, then you wonÂ’t need to do anything. However, if you have an older style, Honda says you can use a Â“myQ Smart Garage Control deviceÂ” to upgrade it into one. Honda is offering everybody one for free if you sign up for its 30-day demo subscription of the service, so donÂ’t worry about having to buy one. However, if you do wish to continue beyond that 30-day free trial, a three-year subscription costs $129, while a five-year subscription will run you $179. The real benefit to this system is that youÂ’ll be able to open and close your garage door from anywhere, not just within the range of where your opener or car-linked button will work. Of course, myQ has a phone app that will do the same, but this allows you to do the task directly through the carÂ’s interface without needing to yank out a phone. Honda says this tech is functional as of today, so go ahead and try it out if you have all the necessary garage door tech in place.

Honda and Acura render their future visions for Shanghai

With the Shanghai Motor Show coming up later this month, Honda has released a couple of teaser sketches for two concept vehicles that will be making global debuts. Aside from the renderings, there is no information about either the Honda or Acura concept vehicles, but we can tell that both are some sort of utility vehicle, be they of crossover or people-mover variety.
The text for both images indicates that both concepts show future products that will be launched in China, but there is no mention as to what other markets the automaker has planned for these vehicles. In addition to these two concepts, the NSX Concept and 2014 RLX from Acura will make their Chinese debuts, and Honda says it "will display models substantially identical to the mass-production version of the Concept C and Concept S." The Concept C is will be a "middle-class" sedan built for China, and the Concept S, an MPV that will primarily serve China as well.

Acura releases yet another NSX track teaser vid

On Sunday, August 4th (yep, that's tomorrow), a prototype version of the all-new Acura NSX will make its public track debut ahead of the Honda 200 IndyCar race. Acura has already given us a short video snippet to enjoy, but now it's added one more to get our hearts racing just a little more.
Before you watch it, make sure your speakers or headphones are turned up, because what the low-resolution video lacks in visual quality, it more than makes up for with its audio of the NSX's exhaust screaming as the car tackles Mid-Ohio. And at the end of the video, the caption reads "watch the NSX racing prototype take a lap."
Acura isn't joking either. From what we hear, the car is expected to take one lap before the race and then disappear for the weekend. Scroll down to see and hear the NSX in action.
