2007 Acura Mdx Base Sport Utility 4-door 3.7l *low Reserve* on 2040-cars
Alexandria, Virginia, United States
I purchased this SUV last month on eBay from a dealer in Florida. I've had the vehicle for about 3 weeks and it's been parked for the past two weeks. The vehicle is a 2007 model and so you'll notice the normal wear and tear. The most obvious are the exterior scratches that appear to have been buffed out, but you'll notice them upon closer inspection. There is also a puncture on the rear bumper. It was there when I bought the vehicle, but does not affect the reverse camera. The interior is is in pretty good shape except for the steering wheel which shows significant wear. The previous owners had a wheel cover, so I didn't notice it until I inspected the car upon delivery. The leather seats are in great condition, considering its a 2007 vehicle. No tears , just normal wear. The Driver's side leather armrest cover is peeling on one side. Needs to be upholstered or replaced if it bothers you. You'll also notice wear on the door side panels, carpet, visors, shift gear, and parts of the interior. Again, it's a 2007, so there are signs of wear, but it's very minimal. I would rate the interior an 8/10.
Aside from cosmetics, I did have the Vehicle inspect at our local Acura dealership days after delivery and the following issues were detected: 1. Oil pump seal needs to be replaced. 2. Rear engine seal needs to be replaced. 3. Power steering pump and right front axle needs to be repaired/replaced. 4. The timing belt is still good, but they also recommend changing it as well. I received an estimate from an Acura dealership and the labor costs were way too much for what I'm willing to spend on the vehicle. The actual parts are inexpensive, it's the labor cost that drives up the price. If you could find a local mechanic, you'd be saving a lot of money. I am selling the vehicle because I have decided to take a different route instead of doing the repairs stated above. Notable options: *GPS Navigation *Reverse Camera *Technology Package w/ two Factory OEM built-in DVD Player/Monitor Combo. (Has A&B switches enabling simultaneous or independent viewing. Also has connections to hookup other electronic devices.) |

Is the original Acura NSX a perfect supercar?
Fri, Nov 20 2015The long-awaited arrival of the second coming of the Acura NSX has naturally brought with it many deep retrospectives on the first Acura NSX. Xcar is the latest with a stint in the time capsule, lining up three NSXs to sample at a track in the UK. There's the red wonder that started it all, the standard aluminum-bodied car that went on sale in 1990, so simple and easy-to-drive, extracting more joy than many thought possible from a 3.0-liter V6 with 'just' 270 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. The 25-year-old exotic shows its years, but mostly because of an automatic transmission that dampens throttle response and doesn't like changing gears. The praises it earned in the day, however, still remain, namely excellent steering, handling, and feedback. After that comes laps in the first NSX Type R, the model that lost more than 250 pounds by having no air conditioning, sound deadening, or stereo, and lightweight tweaks like carbon seats and thinner glass. Although it the tuning makes it much harder, the presenter wants to know, "Why isn't Honda making a car like this today?" Then there's the 2002 model, the one that would only last three years before closing the door on a fifteen-year run. It got better at the same time as it got softer, but by then the NSX had nothing left to prove; it hit every one of its targets, it realigned the segment in ways we're still benefiting from, and for at least half of its run nothing else could touch it. Based on the reviews so far, that might include the brand new, very good and very complicated NSX. Check out the video above for Xcar's take. Acura TL bursts into flames moments before being traded in at Ontario dealership [UPDATE]
Fri, 21 Dec 2012Watching your car burst into flames before your eyes is never good news, and it's even worse when you're mere moments away from trading it in at the local dealership. This Car-B-Q blaze apparently erupted at Acura 2000, a dealer in Brampton, Ontario. As the video tells us, the unlucky customer saw his 2004-2008 Acura TL trade-in suddenly catch fire and go up in resale-value-killing smoke.
According to the hyped-up cameraman (who evidently works next door at Northwest Lexus) and his eccentric play-by-play commentary, this Acura owner is about to be left without a ride home and might want to consider switching to a Lexus instead.
Scroll down to watch video of the drama unfolding as fire fighters put out the mysterious blaze before anyone - except the car - was harmed.
Acura MDX design lead details the crossover from beginning to today
Thu, Nov 19 2020Catalin Matei, principal designer at Acura, was the exterior design lead for the original 2001 MDX and had the same job for the new MDX Prototype. That’s just plain cool, and it makes him the MDX person of record when it comes to design. Thankfully, Acura put him in front of a camera with the original and the new Prototype to talk design. That video is at the top of this post. MateiÂ’s background gives him a unique perspective on how MDX design has changed throughout the years. In the video, he walks us through his and AcuraÂ’s thinking and rationale for the three-row crossoverÂ’s design both then and now. ItÂ’s a great watch, as you learn how AcuraÂ’s crossover design philosophy has changed over the years. Where the original design tried to be elegant and clean, the new MDX takes a stab at sportiness and performance. This line of thinking is in tune with all of AcuraÂ’s most recent designs following the “Precision Crafted Performance” mantra. 2001 Acura MDX View 11 Photos Specifics on how the carÂ’s design has changed are called out by Matei. For example, grille design — itÂ’s much bigger now! The character line that wrapped around the original MDX has moved upward in the new MDX. This gives the new crossover a broad-shouldered and strong look that the old MDX just didnÂ’t have. And you probably wouldÂ’ve never guessed this, but the bodyside sculpting was inspired by the rocks in the Antelope Canyon. WeÂ’re not totally convinced. One downside from the slick and “sporty” design may be unintentionally called out. The third row of seats is almost entirely shrouded by the body, as opposed to the massive windows in the original MDX. Those in the rearmost seats will have a much more claustrophobic experience than everybody else in the car. If you want all the details we know about the upcoming next-gen MDX, check out our reveal post here. Also, bookmark this page. WeÂ’ll check back in with Matei 20 years from now for the 2040 Acura MDX reveal. Related gallery: MDX Prototype View 35 Photos
