Mint Condition 1991 Acura Integra on 2040-cars
Citrus Heights, California, United States
Up for sale is my mint condition 1991 Acura Integra LS. This is a true needle in a hay stack find that you will never again run across. This California car has always been garaged and covered since new. It has had 3 extremely picky and meticulous owners. The first owner was an older Asian gentleman who sold it to the second owner when it had only 29k miles in 2004. The second owner who I bought it from earlier this year with 84k miles is in his 50's. I am the third owner and honestly am afraid to drive it most of the time because it is so close to perfect.
This soon to be classic Honda has never been in an accident or driven in the rain. The interior and exterior are like new and original with no noticeable imperfections. The car has only 85k original miles but looks as if it only has 20k. It may be hard to believe but the body and paint are original. The only paint work that has ever been done were to the mirrors, door moldings and bumper moldings(they were originally black plastic) This was done to give the car a cleaner look and to imitate the Integra LS Special edition. For those who don't know, the special edition Integra in this year came with all trim panels painted the same color along with black and tan two tone interior. The body has no dings, dents, oxidation or noticeable scratches. The paint looks new even though it is original. All trim around the glass is like new(very rare, see the pictures). The original hub caps are in excellent condition with no cracks or oxidation. All lights and glass are like new. The interior has no rips, tears, burns, stains or foul odors. Nothing is broken or missing. Everything works on the car along with the factory radio and power antenna. The interior and exterior are a 9.7 out of 10. The interior still smells new. My car is mechanically perfect. It has no leaks, vibrations or problems what so ever. It runs and drives just as good as it looks. It is mechanically a 10 out of 10. The motor is quiet and the transmission shifts smooth with no grinds. The alignment, brakes and suspension are perfect. The tires and brakes are new. The tires were replaced 2 years ago and have only 2k miles on them. The brakes including all new rotors and ceramic pads were replaced 3 months ago. The battery, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, rear trunk shocks, cam seal and oil have all been changed within the last 3 months as well(less than 500 miles ago). The a/c has been changed to R134 and blows ice cold. This car needs nothing any time soon! These cars are impossible to find in a 5 speed manual transmission in like new condition! 99.9% of these cars that have manual transmissions were used to commute in or have been modified. I spent years searching for this car along with my 1988 Honda CRX that has 69k miles and 1999 Integra LS with 62k miles. This Integra is most likely the last one left in this pristine original condition. This is what we call a survivor in the classic car world. I didn't get as lucky with my other two low mileage Honda's. It cost me $4,500 a piece to have each one painted just to make them as nice as this one. I am as picky as it gets! I do not want to or need to sell this car! I know what I have and what it is worth. The value of this car is only going to go up if kept in this condition. I need only to sell one of my 3 Integra's to buy my Uncle's boat. The 1999 Integra is off limits being as it was given to my fiance. If my 1993 Acura Integra show car which is also on ebay sells first then this one is off the market. No exceptions! I would much rather sell my 1993 than this one. My other Integra is no longer practical being as I am in my 30's. I have my fiance and her kids to think about first, not a super modified Honda. Good things aren't cheap and cheap things are rarely ever good! Please read I reserve the right to end this listing at any time, should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. The following terms of sale apply: Payment Please, if you do not intend to pay, please do not bid. All bidders with less than 5 feedback's need to call me or their bid might be canceled. The buyer will submit a $500.00 non refundable payment deposit with PAYPAL within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS, with NO warranty expressed, written or implied. 2021 Acura TLX Type S First Drive Review | Adapting to a changed world
Thu, May 20 2021SALINAS, Calif. — A lot has changed since Acura offered its last Type S model over a decade ago. Tesla's EVs have plundered a sizable chunk of market share, Korean manufacturers have stormed the near-luxury and luxury segments, and Acura, in an effort to restore the luster of their once-revered nameplate, rebooted the legendary NSX as a hybrid-powered supercar halo with the hopes that desirability (and some hardware) will trickle down into the rest of the lineup. That last part is key to understanding the mission of the new 2021 Acura TLX Type S. Though the premium sport sedan segment isnÂ’t necessarily hotly contested, the Type S still plays a critical role in bolstering the brandÂ’s credibility. Positioned as a step above the turbo four-cylinder-powered TLX ($39,500) and the better-equipped TLX A-Spec ($45,500), the TLX Type S starts at $53,325 and packs a number of performance upgrades that make it high-performance capable. Just don't expect it to be as track-worthy as a Honda Civic Type R. The Type S is built on AcuraÂ’s stiffest sedan chassis to date. Packing an all-new twin-scroll turbo 3.0-liter V6 under its flared hood, the Type S makes 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Despite gains of 83 hp and 74 lb-ft, combined fuel economy drops only 3 points to 21 mpg with the hotrod V6. Aiding the cause is a cylinder deactivation system and active vibration control to mask the transition between six and three cylinders. Chassis updates include extra bracing for a 13% stiffer body, 40% stiffer front springs, thicker stabilizer bars, more aggressive shock valving, retuned steering, and larger four-piston Brembo brakes. Standard 20-inch wheels and tires are the largest yet for TLX, and Pirelli P Zero summer tires are available with an NSX-inspired design. Tying it all together are drive modes with a new Sport+ setup: Turn and hold the centrally positioned mode selector for 1 second, and throttle response, shifting, exhaust valve, steering effort, damping, torque vectoring, and even interior lighting take on a more aggressive calibration. To showcase these enhancements, Acura held the Type S first drive at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, hauling up a few historic vehicles for good measure including a first-gen NSX and a Honda S2000 CR. Old school Type S specimens included a 2001 CL, 2007 TL, and a 2007 RSX.
1997 Acura SLX gets 350 actual Acura horsepower for Radwood
Thu, Dec 5 2019For the Radwood Orange County, Calif., car show, a show themed around 1980s and 1990s cars, Acura is bringing a variety of its original models including a 1991 NSX and a 1986 Integra. The company is also bringing something obscure, a 1997 Acura SLX, the brand's first SUV, offered from model years 1996 to 1999. In some ways, it's something Acura might not want to highlight, since it's really a rebadged Isuzu Trooper, just as the original Honda Passport was a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo. But this SLX is special; it has real Acura power under the hood. The project was led by Acura engineers and Pikes Peak racing drivers James Robinson, Paul Hubers and Jordan Guitar, and the frame and body restoration as well as the powertrain swap was done entirely in-house at Honda R&D in Ohio, according to Acura rep Andrew Quillin. The team pulled out the original naturally aspirated 3.2-liter V6 that made just 190 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, and dropped in a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four from a new Acura RDX. That engine also received a new intake, exhaust, turbo and ECU tune, which brought power up to an estimated 350 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque, similar to the Graham Rahal Performance RDX. Not only that, but the old-school four-wheel-drive system and live rear axle were dropped in favor of the RDX's indpendent suspension and torque vectoring "Super Handling All-Wheel Drive." "Dropped in" is a mischaracterization, though, as Acura had to weld new subframes front and rear to the existing frame to get the transverse engine and modern suspension to fit. Acura was careful to keep the SLX looking as close to the original as possible. On the outside, Acura repainted the SLX in a modern red paint available on the RDX, but retained the champagne lower moldings. The stock wheels were replaced with 17-inch Fifteen52 wheels, but they have a very similar design and finish to the original wheels. A hard-shell spare tire cover was added, and a simple "SH-AWD" badge on the back is the only hint at what's under the body. The interior was restored at the company's L.A. design studio, where the upholstery was redone in a gray "gathered" leather like you would have seen when it was new. A bit of gray wood trim updates the interior slightly. The RDX's push-button starter and shifter buttons have been added to the center console, shift paddles behind the original steering wheel, and an aftermarket instrument cluster mounted to the steering column.
Acura already planning NSX Type R?
Wed, Jan 14 2015Acura just took the wraps off the production version of its long-awaited new NSX, but rumors are already circulating of an even hotter version to follow. Meeting up at the Detroit Auto Show this week, Auto Express asked the NSX's chief engineer Ted Klaus about the prospect of a Type R version in the future, to which he reportedly answered: "I think everyone who loves cars wants to see a version that we say is pure red. The NSX has always been silver first, moving towards red later. Someone asked me, 'when will you be satisfied?' Probably never. What you do today, you can improve on tomorrow." That doesn't mean that tomorrow will actually come tomorrow, but it does speak to a spirit of improvement on the NSX team that could stand to keep the American-made Japanese supercar on the knife's edge and out in front of the competition, which Klaus identified as including the Ferrari 458, Audi R8 V10 and Porsche 911 Turbo. The previous model bred the NSX-R two years after its release (in the Japanese domestic market anyway), benefiting from a 265-pound weight reduction, a stiffer suspension, and though never officially confirmed, a long-suspected bump in output.
