1997 Acura Integra LS with J32A2 Type-S Swap Up for sale is a one of a kind Acura Integra. This clean 1997 Integra is equipped with a V6, 3.2 Liter TL Type-S motor! 260hp and 232lb-ft of torque are unmatched in the world of 4-cyclinder vehicles. This Integra sounds mean, and has the power to back it up! As you can see the hood has been custom fabricated, allowing for this rare swap to sit exposed to the near-by on-looker. The J-swap is an uncommon swap to see, let alone own. This is your chance to save the hassle of building one, and own it today! This car is truly exciting to drive, and guaranteed to turns heads where ever you go! History: I purchased this car several years ago from a friend who was leaving for the Army. He originally completed the J32A2 swap, with intensions for track use only. Over the past 3 years I have put this car back together for weekend enjoyment, not just track use. There are still several loose ends that need completed, as I have not fully completed this build. Here is your chance to complete several loose ends and take pride in completing the build, and not just purchasing it. This Integra starts and runs as if the it were brand new! The motor has low miles and is very reliable, starts every time, doesn't burn oil, no smoke or idle issues, and pulls harder than any Honda I’ve driven. The full car harness was originally converted to a 2002 Acura TL automatic. The motor was later upgraded to a 2002 TL Type-S motor. The issue is this vehicle has an automatic ECU on a 2003 V6 Accord 6-speed transmission. The ECU thinks the vehicle is in neutral and will not engage the VTEC or reserve lock-out. I cannot change the ECU without having it chipped to bypass the factory ignition immobilizer. These issues can be correctly easily with the AEM ECU, or CL Type-S ECU and 6-speed engine harness. The car runs and drives great, only lacking VTEC at the moment. I do not have time or desire to complete this vehicle, and would like to pass it to someone with the excitement for unique Hondas. I am currently in school full time, and work full time on top of building two other cars; my loss is your gain. This car is truly in great condition, and about 95% complete. You will also be hard pressed to find a green Integra that doesn't have tan interior as well. If you’re into unique builds, than this is the car for you! Honda planning sub-NSX S2000 successor
Tue, 13 May 2014Nine years separated the arrival of the original Acura NSX and the Honda S2000. By that time, the NSX was closer to the end of its fifteen-year production cycle than it was to its beginning. The latest word has it that not only is Honda planning a successor to the S2000, but it's not about to wait that long after the new NSX arrives before it's rolled out.
While the S2000 was a front-mid-engined roadster, its successor will, according to the latest from Auto Express (which we are taking with a grain of salt), be a mid-engined coupe - closer, in other words, to the NSX than the S2000. Power would come from a more potent version of the 2.0-liter turbo four developed for the upcoming new Civic Type R, possibly as part of a hybrid system derived from Honda's upcoming Formula One powertain to develop over 400 horsepower.
Whether the new sports car would revive the S2000 nameplate, and whether it would wear the Honda or Acura badge in the United States, remain to be seen. As does its potential production site: while the previous S2000 was built at the same Takanezawa plant in Tochigi as the original NSX, the new NSX will be built at the new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. The new S660 roadster, meanwhile, is set to be assembled at the same Yachiyo plant in Yokkaichi as the original Honda Beat.
There will be a third-generation NSX, says Acura V.P.
Tue, Aug 24 2021The second-generation Acura NSX might be going out in a blaze of glory, but it won't be the last we see of the supercar. This promise comes directly from Acura Vice President and Brand Officer Jon Ikeda. Furthermore, Ikeda implied that the next version might be electric. Ikeda divulged thoughts about a third-gen NSX while being interviewed by The Drive and Motor Trend. To the former, he explained Acura's mission with the the mid-engined supercar. "We make an NSX when there's something we want to say. The first-gen was gas. Second-gen was a hybrid. There's gonna be another one." Unless Ikeda is talking about hydrogen or some kind of heretofore undisclosed technology like Mr. Fusion, this pretty much means electric. That means the NSX is likely to take another hiatus after the Type S closes out the 2022 model year. Between the first and second generations, the halo sports car had an 11-year absence on the market. Ikeda laid out the reasons for the nameplate's 2016 return when he spoke to Motor Trend. "Honda is one of the biggest gasoline engine makers in the world and needed to see what will happen in a world turning away from engines," he explained. It was always meant to be a halo car. "We didn't go into it to make a lot of money," he stated. The second generation had a much shorter lifespan than the game-changing first gen. That one spanned one and a half decades, from 1990 to 2005. The current generation, once it exits stage left in 2022, will have only had a six-year run. One could argue that the first gen overstayed its welcome, though. After thoroughly turning the supercar world on its ear, by forcing Ferrari et al to reconsider their engineering, the NSX's competitors quickly caught up to Honda's lead. While the NSX did undergo a couple of major changes during its first lifespan, by the time it left the market it was more of a dwindle. Acura is determined not to let that happen with the current NSX. In this case, they're sending it off with the most powerful iteration yet, a 600-horsepower Type S with reworked turbos, cooling system and aerodynamics and limiting production to 350 worldwide. Ikeda told Motor Trend, "We didn't want to let the NSX die on the vine either. To go quietly into the night is not what it deserves."
Acura files for Integra Type S trademark
Fri, Aug 27 2021It's only been a couple of weeks since Acura dropped the news bomb that it was bringing back the Integra. In that time, though, the company has quickly applied to trademark the name "Integra Type S" with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The filing, discovered by CarBuzz, was submitted on Aug. 20, a little less than a week after the Integra revival was announced. Curiously, it's under the category of "Apparel and headwear, namely, caps, hats, T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts, knit shirts, polo shirts, jackets and vests," rather than automobiles.  It seems unlikely, though, that Acura would trademark Integra Type S for shirts and hats if it didn't plan on building a car to go along with it. So the Integra may come in standard and hotted up versions. The last time Acura offered an Type S in North America, it wasn't officially called that. During Acura's switch to an alphanumeric naming convention, the Integra name was dropped in favor of RSX, built from 2002-06. There, the Type S moniker, while not as hard-core as the previous-generation Integra Type R, still meant a considerable bump in performance. Regular RSX models had 160 horsepower, but the RSX Type S cranked out 200 to 210, depending on the year. The Type S was also available exclusively with a manual transmission, and had improved suspension and brakes. While a similar improvement in hardware would be more than welcome on an Integra Type S, we don't want to get too excited over what could just be a logo on a T-shirt. The wouldn't be the first time in recent memory a carmaker trademarked a familiar name for swag. Earlier this year Nissan trademarked Fairlady Z — the original name for the Nissan Z-car — for usage on anything from cuff links to wall clocks. Meanwhile, Ford stepped in and trademarked the name Skyline for the category of cars and trucks. So Acura should probably just go ahead and get the trademark for cars, even if it doesn't plan on offering it at all. Â
