1997 Acura Integra LS with J32A2 Type-S Swap Up for sale is a one of a kind Acura Integra. This
clean 1997 Integra is equipped with a V6, 3.2 Liter TL Type-S motor! 260hp and
232lb-ft of torque are unmatched in the world of 4-cyclinder vehicles. This
Integra sounds mean, and has the power to back it up! As you can see the hood
has been custom fabricated, allowing for this rare swap to sit exposed to the near-by
on-looker. The J-swap is an uncommon swap to see, let alone own. This is your
chance to save the hassle of building one, and own it today! This car is truly exciting
to drive, and guaranteed to turns heads where ever you go! History: I purchased this car several years ago from a friend
who was leaving for the Army. He originally completed the J32A2 swap, with
intensions for track use only. Over the past 3 years I have put this car back together
for weekend enjoyment, not just track use. There are still several loose ends
that need completed, as I have not fully completed this build. Here is your
chance to complete several loose ends and take pride in completing the build,
and not just purchasing it. This Integra starts and runs as if the it were brand
new! The motor has low miles and is very reliable, starts every time, doesn't burn oil, no smoke or idle
issues, and pulls harder than any Honda Ive driven. The full car harness was originally converted to a
2002 Acura TL automatic. The motor was later upgraded to a 2002 TL Type-S
motor. The issue is this vehicle has an automatic ECU on a 2003 V6 Accord
6-speed transmission. The ECU thinks the vehicle is in neutral and will not
engage the VTEC or reserve lock-out. I cannot change the ECU without having it
chipped to bypass the factory ignition immobilizer. These issues can be
correctly easily with the AEM ECU, or CL Type-S ECU and manual motor harness. If VTEC is not a big deal, than this car is ready to go! Haha. I do not have time or desire to complete this vehicle,
and would like to pass it to someone with the excitement for unique Hondas. I
am currently in school full time, and work full time on top of building two
other cars; my loss is your gain. This car is truly in great condition, and about
95% complete. You will also be hard pressed to find a green Integra that doesn't have tan interior as well. If youre into unique builds, than this is the
car for you! Below is a list of info and aftermarket parts: -

Is the Acura Legend coming back?
Fri, May 24 2019Great news for fans of the Acura Legend: Honda has applied for a trademark in Europe for the word "Legend," pertaining to "Vehicles; Apparatus for locomotion by land; Apparatus for locomotion by air; Apparatus for locomotion by water; Parts and fittings for land vehicles; Parts and fittings for air and space vehicles; Parts and fittings for water vehicles." This trademark was first spotted by AutoGuide.com, and gives more credence to our speculation from a couple months ago about the possibility of the Legend nameplate returning to the Acura lineup in the States. If you were reading closely before, you'll notice that it was actually Honda that applied for the trademark, not Acura. The Legend was sold with a Honda badge on it in Europe back in the day, so this trademark filing in Europe makes perfect sense. In our previous report, we put forth the idea that Acura could bring the Legend name back with a successor to the RLX flagship sedan. Specifically, we were thinking that Acura would use the four-door coupe form previewed by the Acura Precision concept. That story also suggested a new Legend flagship could debut during Monterey Car Week. The 1986 Legend sedan was one of Acura's first two vehicles when the brand launched (the other being the Integra). It had a smooth 2.5-liter V6 that made all of 151 horsepower at the time. A sweet-looking coupe soon followed the sedan. The name Legend would be applied to a second-generation, which is arguably the one best-remembered. The coupe in particular has lived up to its name. Much of that legendary status, though, is the result of what followed: the Legend name and coupe body style dying for 1996 in favor of the RL, a four-door sedan as bland as its name. Acura's flagship has never recovered. We'll be quite pleased if Acura ultimately decides to reveal a totally new Legend to blow us away in Monterey. The return to actual names for the lineup would also be lovely. It's certainly working for Lincoln. Now if they'd only trademark "Integra" ...
2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid goes on sale in April for $52,935
Wed, Mar 15 2017If you like the hybrid tech of the Acura NSX, but don't need a six-figure, 191-mph supercar as your daily driver, you might enjoy the extra room of the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid. It uses the same SH-AWD system with three electric motors as its racier stablemate and puts a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6 up front Β but seats up to seven people. It goes on sale in early April, and Acura has announced a starting MSRP of $52,935. The MDX Sport Hybrid starts at $7,910 higher than the base, front-wheel-drive MDX, but only $1,500 more than the comparably equipped, non-hybrid MDX SH-AWD. It offers 31 more ponies, for a total of 321 peak horsepower and of 289 pound-feet of torque. It's less expensive than the other Acura to use the Sport Hybrid system, the RLX sedan, which starts at $59,950. (That car incurs a price premium of $5,500 over its P-AWS-equipped FWD base model; there's no non-hybrid AWD RLX.) The MDX Sport Hybrid gets an EPA-rated 26 mpg city, 27 highway, and 27 combined. Compared to the conventional MDX SH-AWD's 18/26/21 mpg rating, its biggest fuel economy gains are to be found in city driving. The Sport Hybrid's figures are even slightly better than the 25/26/26 mpg Acura expected when the car debuted in New York last year. The MDX Sport Hybrid should be fairly entertaining to drive, too, at least for a utility vehicle. It's Acura's most powerful SUV to date, and it offers four driving modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Sport+. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission handles the gear changes, but the driver can take control via a pair of paddles on the back of the steering wheel. The SH-AWD system's torque vectoring feature promises to help make the MDX proficient in the twisty bits, too. Related Video:
This is why Acura hasn't yet announced its EV strategy
Sat, Feb 27 2021Despite parent company Honda's green and friendly brand image, luxury marque Acura hasn't made a grand statement about electrifying their lineup. Even as brands like Jaguar, Land Rover, Bentley, and Infiniti pledge to entirely electrify their lineups in the coming decade, Acura has held back. The reason, according to Acura head honcho Jon Ikeda, is that it's focusing on reestablishing itself as a performance brand. In a wide-ranging interview with Automotive News, Ikeda says Acura came out of the gate strong in 1986 and did well for the first 20 years, but when the bottom fell out of the market in 2008 the brand experienced "growing pains." That spawned a period of self-reflection and, as Ikeda puts it, "What are we about?" The decision was made to go back to Acura's roots as the performance division of Honda. "That's what Acura is. That's what I fell in love with," Ikeda says. Ikeda joined Honda in 1989, but his promotion to Acura boss in 2015 was a surprise to many, including himself. That's because Honda had a tradition of putting engineers at the helm, and Ikeda was a designer, responsible for the looks of such cars as the FSX concept, 2001 Civic Coupe, and beloved 2004 Acura TL. 2021 Acura TLX Advance View 38 Photos When asked by AN whether Acura is worried that luxury competitors are putting stakes in the ground to claim EV brand identities, Ikeda says no. "For us as a brand, we needed to kind of refocus and reestablish ourselves as a performance brand... We want everybody to understand where we are, what we're about first. Even if we go electric we will continue to be a performance division of Honda and performance will be our focus." To earn its performance street cred, Acura poured resources into the second-gen NSX hybrid supercar, which served as testbed for how electricity can work harmoniously with performance. They will continue to campaign IMSA race cars to earn trophies as proof, and Ikeda also wants to bring more Type S models to the lineup. Ikeda says Acura is still in the process of rebuilding its foundation, but when he's done he expects people to associate Acura with performance. That sure seems ambitious to us, but products like the new TLX are a helpful stepping stone. It also explains why Acura is investing in different platforms to differentiate itself from Honda. To be clear, Ikeda isn't ruling out electrification.
