For auction is this clean, well cared for 2007 Volvo XC90 equipped with 3.2 6 Cylinder engine, 6 Speed Automatic Transmission, and third row seating, priced to sell under book value. It has 146,550 miles on it. No rust, non-smoker, no dogs, and clean CarFax, which I have (two weeks old). All service and repair has been done regularly and professionally at either the dealer or a local, reputable shop. I am the second owner. I bought it at a Volvo dealer in 2009 when it had 27,000 miles on it and it was certified bumper to bumper out to 100,000. I have had no trouble with this car, and have stayed on top of all issues and maintenance. All systems are operable, and the a/c is cold. The Good: A clean, safe Volvo used as a commuter and for family transport. No city mileage, no trips to the dump. Clear NYS Title. Clean CarFax. The Bad: Some minor cosmetic body work needed in front due to deer hit a few months back that I never had repaired. Scratches on right rear, and an indented scratch on front right fender. Volvo reveals V60 Cross Country ahead of LA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Volvo is bringing a model to the Los Angeles Auto Show that isn't afraid to get a little dirty. The Swedish automaker will finally unveil its V60 Cross Country crossover, and it has confirmed that the model will be available in North American markets shortly.
The Cross Country takes Volvo's standard V60 compact wagon and injects a little more off-road capability and visual flavor into the platform. US and Canadian models will arrive with Volvo's 250-horsepower, five-cylinder engine with a standard automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The company says the powertrain should get around 23 miles per gallon fuel economy on the combined cycle.
To be ready to go just a little bit off the beaten path, the suspension sits about 2.6-inches higher than the regular version. The body is also equipped with skid plates in the front and rear, side scuff plates, fender extensions and exhaust outlets integrated into the rear bumper. Hill Descent Control will also augment capability, as well.
Volvo's pedestrian airbags may already be on their way out

Developed with an external airbag aimed at better protecting pedestrians in the event of a collision, this innovative safety device could be phased out soon in place of more advanced active safety technologies like pedestrian detection and auto braking.
Go Auto had a chance to talk to Volvo senior VP Lex Kerssmakers at the Tokyo Motor Show, and he suggested that the V40's under-hood airbag will not be used on the next-gen XC90 and might not even be continued on non-SUV models. The passive airbag was designed to deploy at speeds of less than 31 miles per hour to help limit head injuries to pedestrians, but new active technologies are designed to prevent collisions in the first place.
The interview also reveals some details about the new XC90, such as the inclusion of a plug-in hybrid system and the debut of a new safety technology. Kerssmakers told Go Auto that a new Volvo concept will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January, but it won't be for the XC90.

Volvo rolled in to new territory when it introduced the original XC90 back in 2002, creating its first SUV and one of its top-selling models. But that was 12 years ago. In the meantime it's followed up with the smaller XC60, but what the brand faithful and the industry at large have been looking forward to most is the arrival of the new XC90.
Previewed by the Concept XC Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show, the new XC90 is set to arrive later this year, but to keep us on our toes, the Swedish automaker has been steadily trickling out a stream of information and photos. Two months ago it gave us a glimpse inside the cabin, and last month it revealed its new infotainment system, but now Volvo has released details on the upcoming new XC90's powertrain.
