2006 Volvo XC70 2.5t AWD

We are pleased to present this incredibly nice Volvo XC70 2.5t AWD which is fitted with some fairly desirable options. First of all, 2006 is the second year for the facelift of these cars which gives them new more modern front and rear bumpers with larger skid plates, different tail lights, headlights, and a completely redesigned center console and center stack. 2007 was the last year for this body style of XC70, so by this point, Volvo really had this model perfected. Mechanically, these cars are awesome, and their 5 Cylinder engine is one of the greatest engines ever made by any company. They run FOREVER! This XC70 also has the Premium Package. It has the integrated child booster seats which are part of the versatility package. This package also gets you power rear child door locks, a rear lateral cargo net, and parking sensors. It's also got the touring package which includes a variety of features including privacy glass. Something else interesting to note is that it is quite rare to see a Barents Blue XC70 with the Black interior. This is the first we've had with this color combination. Those that have experience with Volvos know that the black interior wears and looks much better than the oak or arena colored leather.

The interior of this XC70 is in very, very good condition. It has off-black leather XC heated seats with beautiful walnut accents on the dash and door panels (and that matching steering wheel). The car has the "high performance sound" Alpine audio system upgrade which sounds excellent. It also has a power moonroof. The previous owner of this car was definitely a non-smoker. These cars don't even come with cigarette lighters, just power outlets. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages which is illuminated with a really cool light ring. The center console also features much more wood than the previous models, and it gives the car a much more upscale feel. This Volvo has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags, and curtain airbags for the front and rear seats. It's got the WHIPS whiplash protection system as well which prevents whiplash in the event of a rear-end collission. It also features rain sensitive windshield wipers, along with heated mirrors and high-pressure headlight washer jets, which are part of the climate package.

The exterior of this XC70 is in remarkably good condition, and Barents Blue in color. This is a darker blue, but really comes to life in direct sunlight as you can see in the below photos. The exterior of the car is actually in very nice condition, and there aren't any major flaws to note, save for an indentation next to the right outer parking sensor which is hardly visible. The 16 inch XC alloy wheels are in good condition. The body is very free of dings and scratches. Overall, this is a great looking XC70.

The tires are all matching Continental tires that are NEARLY NEW. They are the new version of their ContiProContact tire which now has a low rolling resistance rubber compound for increased gas mileage. These are very technologically advanced tires, and quite expensive as well. The brakes are in  good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary 2.5 Liter low pressure turbocharged 5 cylinder engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. The transmission is also excellent. The car includes the complete owners manual set. The timing belt service HAS been completed.

This car includes a 3 Month 4500 Mile powertrain warranty at no additional charge. The warranty can be used at any repair shop in the United States, no matter where you live. This warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. This is in place in order to provide peace of mind when purchasing a car via the internet. Additionally, this warranty can be adjusted to cover nearly every component on the car, and can be extended up to four years and unlimited mileage. Contact us for details on this affordable upgrade in coverage.

In many cases, it is more efficient and economical to have your car shipped to your home or office. There are various options. We have a shipping broker with whom we work that is one of the best in the business, and takes care of every aspect of the shipping process. Additionally, if you're looking for a more economical option, you can get a quote at www.uship.com. If you'd prefer to pick up your new car in person, we offer complimentary shuttle service from the Erie International Airport (ERI), as well as the Erie Pennsylvania Amtrak, Greyhound, and Megabus stations.

Purchasing a car online can definitely allow you, our customer, to get a fantastic deal on exactly the car for which you've been looking. This method is one of the best thigns to happen in the history of the used car business, because you are no longer limited to the small selection of cars offered by your local car dealerships. With affordable shipping to anywhere in the world, it is now easier than ever to find exactly the car you want at a price you like.

Since you're bidding, or making an offer, on a car which you may have not seen in person, it is important that a level of trust be established between you, our customer, and us, the dealership. This is why we post between 30 and 60 high-resolution images of every car we sell on ebay. We pride ourselves in having the most detailed, highest resolution images on ebay, and we use the finest photography equipment in order to catch even the smallest details of the cars that we sell. In addition, the description above provides a comprehensive walk-around of the car including the interior, exterior, and mechanical systems. We even will fill you in on any previous maintenance that we've performed. Regardless, all cars that we sell have been thoroughly checked for safety by our in-house master technician. In addition, we road-test every car we sell very extensively before offering it. If there are any issues with the car that are present, they will be mentioned in the auction. Because we road test the cars extensively, it is possible that the car may have more miles on it than when the auction was listed. We always encourage you to come check out the car in person before bidding or making an offer. If you are too far away to do this, there are several inspection services that can review the car, or we can take the car to a local garage of your choice for a pre-purchase inspection.

Please note that a $250 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction.  This deposit can be made by contacting us directly and can be paid by credit or debit card over the phone. This allows us to speak with you person-to-person which allows us to fill you in on the process and fine details of the transaction, as well as lets you know that we are real people who are committed to making the process of purchasing your new car as easy and painless as possible. Buying a car should be fun and exciting, not a chore. The balance is due within 7 days via Certified Check, Money Order, or bank wire transfer.  We can also accept credit cards and personal checks for full payment with prior authorization. Simply contact us before bidding or making your offer to let us know that you plan on paying with one of these methods so that we can let you know about additional terms that apply.

Non-paying buyers will be reported to ebay.  We charge a $255 dealer services fee for all transactions. This fee covers any           additional paperwork service, overnighting of paperwork, and dealer prep.  We can provide a temporary cardboard plate for out of state customers at no charge. Pennsylvania residents will need to pay sales tax between 6% and 7% depending upon your county of residence. There are also Pennsylvania fees for the registration, title, and license plate (unless you bring your own plate to transfer).

Inexpensive used cars are not at all the same as a brand new car, or certified pre-owned vehicle.  They are in no way flawless, or perfect. As noted above, we try our absolute best to disclose any issues which may be present on the car, however a car's condition is somewhat subjective and opinion based. Where door ding may be considered perfectly acceptable on a 10 year old car, it would never be acceptible on a car which is brand new.  Also, on higher-mileage used cars, it is important to remember that virtually any mechanical or non-mechanical component can fail at any time.  We cannot predict what components will fail in the future, or when they will fail.  This is simply the nature of older higher mileage used vehicles.  The best that we can do is assure that the car is operating properly at the time of purchase. This car is sold as-is, and we cannot be held responsible for any mechanical or non-mechanical failure.  Additionally, because we do not know the inspection requirements of other states, we cannot guarantee that this vehicle will pass any out-of-state inspections.

Volvo XC90 prototype spied for the first time ever

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Despite its advanced age, the Volvo XC90 remains a highly competent luxury SUV. The design has aged nicely, and it's clear from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety naming the big Volvo a Top Safety Pick + that the safety-minded Swedes behind it knew what they were doing. Still, even the finest cars need replacing, especially after nearly 12 years on sale.
Here we have the first spy shots of the next-generation XC90, under development somewhere cold (at this rate, it could be anywhere from Arvidsjaur to Atlanta). Now, as our spy photogs point out, this is the real deal, judging by all that camo over the vehicle. There's a production body under there, rather than this being a mule with the old vehicle's skin on top of it.
It's difficult to make out much because of all the camo, although there are some similarities to both the Concept XC Coupe from the Detroit Auto Show and a batch of teaser images we showed you earlier this year. We can see the greenhouse retains a shape similar to the current XC90, although the beltline climbs rather aggressively once past the C pillar, much like it does on the Concept XC Coupe. In back, Volvo has eschewed tall, vertical lights in favor of more conventional units, which we expect to be similar to what we saw in the teaser images. We'd bargain that there will be a traditional rectangular grille, like what you can see on the concept. The headlights, meanwhile, should wear T-shaped LED elements, like the teaser images.

Stolen first production Volvo P1800 recovered

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Late last month, we told you about a 1961 Volvo P1800 that had been stolen in Sweden. The thought of losing a classic coupe to an unscrupulous thief is troubling enough, but this wasn't just any P1800 - it was the very first production example minted, and the restored red-over-white two-door was owned by the vice president of the Swedish P1800 Club to boot. Chassis Number Two was pilfered from a Stockholm lockup on either August 21 or 22, and the theft triggered an international hunt of sorts.
Fortunately, that hunt has come to a (mostly) happy ending. According to Larmtjänst AB, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting vehicle crime in Sweden, the car was spotted by someone who had read about the missing classic. The P1800 was recovered in Hägerstensvägen, a municipality of Stockholm, after being found abandoned on the road covered with a tarp. The owner is reportedly very relieved that his Volvo is mostly intact, marred only by a broken ignition and a dirty interior.

Can we keep the gauge cluster around, please?

Wed, Jun 21 2023

Let’s not follow TeslaÂ’s lead in the elimination of the gauge cluster. I might be too late, but IÂ’m going to say it anyway. The cute 2025 Volvo EX30 is to blame for this needing to be said. I genuinely like most things about the EX30 and its cost-oriented approach to a luxury EV. However, Volvo went and deleted the gauge cluster, and thatÂ’s just one cost-saving step too many. Of course, center-mounted instruments is nothing new, but Tesla popularized the idea of removing the cluster entirely years ago with its Model 3 and Model Y. I didnÂ’t like the idea when I first saw it, and my displeasure with driving around a car with no cluster was confirmed when I drove a Model 3 for the first time. There are numerous reasons, but it all boils down to the importance of having vital information in your direct line of sight. The transition to EVs allows for the elimination of certain monitoring gauges within a cluster, but basics like speed, gear position, headlight status, cruise control and range are all things I want directly in front of me. I donÂ’t want to glance down and to the right to see these things. You could make a valid safety argument for such an arrangement, but including all of that info just for the sake of convenience is enough. The only excuse I see for eliminating the cluster is if a comprehensive head-up display impervious to polarized sunglasses comes as standard equipment. ItÂ’d still be bothersome in a gasoline-powered car to lose all those gauges, but I could live with just a HUD in an electric car if it meant a lower cost to the buyer. That said, my favorite integrations are the smaller clusters installed in some EVs like the Ford Mustang Mach-E or Volkswagen ID.4. These little clusters are smaller and simpler than many of the massive instrument screens going into cars these days, but they include all the information you might want at a glance. Beyond the safety and convenience aspect, thereÂ’s a nostalgic angle to the gauge cluster. Just a short while ago, I trumpeted the return of retro designs in digital gauge clusters. You can quite literally do whatever youÂ’d like when youÂ’re working with a screen, which leaves the field of opportunities wide open. We wonÂ’t have the privilege of enjoying old-school (or revolutionary new-school) designs if OEMs start eliminating them entirely.
