1999 Volvo V70 Xc - Great Awd Wagon. Great Shape! Loaded With Tons Of Options on 2040-cars
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States
Beautiful AWD Volvo V70 XC Cross Country. I've been using this as a daily commuter. Very practical family car with great interior space. Love all the options and AWD for Michigan roads. Car runs and drives excellent. Body and interior are in nice condition. It drives comfortably and quietly. Great European handling and comfort. No major issues with the car. It had a small leak in the power steering but leak stop has cleared it up. The headlight and rear wipers don't work. Other than that everything works. All the interior options - climate control, heated seats, heated mirrors, stereo all work fine! This car was really well maintained by the previous owner and I've kept it up to. Betten Imports in Grand Rapids has a work history for the vehicle which shows lots of good maintenance. Does high teens in the city and mid 20s on the highway. Lots of miles left in it. These 5 cyl. Volvos go forever. I'm relocating to the west coast so I have to part with it! I have bill for the one and only repair I've had to have done. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Thanks for taking a look! |

Jaguar turns down offers to join V8 Supercars, questions AMG, Volvo participation
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Jaguar may be the next manufacturer to join the V8 Supercars racing series, made popular in Australia but now well-known in other parts of the world as well. Sadly, Jag's participation is not to be. In fact, it would be "insane," according to Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director David Blackhall, for it to accept either of the two offers it has received to bring Jaguar into V8 Supercars.
Not only is Jaguar not interested in entering V8 Supercars, says Blackhall, it also fails to understand the recent entries from AMG and Volvo. "I don't know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it's their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest."
Judging by Blackhall's statements to motoring.com.au, after not-so-serious consideration, the automaker decided the monetary commitment it would take to compete for wins would be more than any potential exposure would be worth, despite the fact that Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V8 to go along with what would seem to be a tailor-made rear-wheel-drive chassis. For what it's worth, one offer would have had Jaguar putting its name across an engine made by someone else, an option that was flatly turned down.
2015 Volvo XC90
Wed, 27 Aug 2014
The new XC90 isn't just about the new XC90 - it's as much about the new generation of Volvos that will result.
Around the turn of the millennium, Volvo seemed like the perfect automaker to make a crossover. It had, after all, already established for itself a reputation for building all-wheel-drive wagons for transporting families in safety and comfort. But while its competitors marched one by one into the luxury utility market, Volvo held out. That was, anyway, until the debut of the original XC90 in 2002. And it's never looked back since.
Volvo eying return to 100k US sales to ensure dealer profitability
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Struggling Volvo may be on a verge of a renaissance thanks to the forthcoming completion of its lauded concept car trilogy, new Drive-E engine family and much-discussed SPA modular platform. Its nascent renewal is mostly being financed by $11-billion in funding from its Chinese parent company, Geely, and if it all goes right, Volvo hopes to sell 100,000 cars a year in the States by 2016. That milestone is vital, because it would ensure Volvo's US dealer network is profitable, according to Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson.
In a new Ward's Auto story, Samuelsson notes that his company is launching a slate of fresh products in the coming years, including the new-to-the-US V60 wagon and mid-cycle updates for its S60 sedan and XC60 crossover. But the most important new vehicle will be the recently spied XC90 that is expected to be unveiled just before the end of this year. Samuelsson is also looking at future vehicles for the US, including replacements for the S80 and V70. The V40 is also planned for the US, but not until the next generation, according to the Volvo CEO.
Of course, it's going to take a lot to reach 100,000 US sales in three years. Volvo sold just 61,233 units here in 2013, and according to WardsAuto, Volvo hasn't sold 100,000 cars in the US since 2007. To reach its goal, Volvo's stateside business will need to grow sales by about 40 percent.
